So I have a question about setting up dual or quad monitors. Basically I'm trying to setup a system with four 24" monitors. Can I just get a vid card with two DVI outputs to output to two 24" monitors a piece?
The main reason i ask is that on newegg, every vid card I can find says that it's...
polishing = good = flat.
Wet sanding is needed, water is used. I would have gone beyond 1500 grit though when sanding, probably up to 4000 at least for me.
I have the soundbar. I wanted it because i didn't want speakers on my desk space. It sounds pretty good, there is very little bass response, that's all. After a while i came across my old boston acoustics sound system from our old gateway with a sub, so i mounted the speakers underneath my...
Maybe on the glossy monitors they should start using the slimlight stuff that help keep glare down, kinda like they do on glasses and museum glass sometimes. It can make a big difference.
Well the X6800 appears to be 2.93 GHz and the Q6700 is 2.66 GHz. So i'm going to guess that the 2.93 is faster than the 2.66 without overclocking :p
Really it all depends if your programs are mutlithreaded. If they are not, then the faster CPU wins, if they are then the more cores wins.
Usually when i had drives that die it lags the crap out of windows. I think it's trying to talk to the drive because it knows it's there and the thing doesn't respond, so windows waits for a response. Eventually it'll time out and move on and assume she's dead.
Going beyond 800 likely doesn't show any difference as the thermal compound should fill everything in and make it have very good contact.
I'm wondering what would happen if you made them absolutley perfect and polished them both then just pressed them together with quite a bit of force. I...
I guess i have to kinda agree with this. If you are buying something that has a pretty good chance of getting accidentally damaged i will definitely consider a plan that will fix it if damaged, but plans that just extend normal warranty in case of a manufacturing defect 3 or 4 years down the...
339 bucks for a service plan, now that's retarded... if you do end up getting that make sure to sabotage your LCD to utilize that ridiculous plan.
Everytime i turn down their plans like that they seem to surprised and offended. They go through this whole speal about it and I'm just like...
Man that blows. Guess some just get lucky.. mine was as the other poster said, no dead pixels, perfect stand... Hope you can get your money back and get a nice monitor :)
Don't the glossy LCDs already have a hard cover. I wish Dell offered their 2407 in glossy and matte. I would have defintley got the glossy screen, they seem to usually have richer colors and if the screen is hard, it would be more finger resistant.
When you get up to go somewheres else away from your monitor do you turn it off or do you let it go to sleep by itself or do you have it set to never sleep so it's just always on? Usually when i'm walking away for more than about 10 minutes i just turn the monitor off. With as hot as the...
There is definitely some bleed there. I'd say it's up to you if it bothers you or not. Here is a picture of my monitor with a black desktop for comparison I guess, it's a dell 2407.
I believe my digital camera may be more crustier than yours....
I have just about the same setup and use it with maya and 3d max. I'd defintley go for quad core by the way, if i could afford it, would greatly increase render speed.
One thing i'd think about is that video card. I wasn't sure what i wanted but i knew i wanted to game some as well. Until...
DELL 2407 WFP
Couldn't be happier with it, zero problems to report, have had it about a year maybe, probably a little less. Everyone is always amazed at it's size and picture when they come over :)
Some people just get all the luck... and some apparently just get all the bad luck.
I wouldn't bitch about their response times. I would bitch if they told me a time and then didn't stick to it though. They have procedures and that's that.
I use the P5W for RAID 1. Haven't had any problems. When i run speed tests on the drives it comes out to about what 1 drive would be. I just use the EZ RAID feature too. Makes reformatting easy, no BS to deal with. Not that other ways are that difficult i guess.
I know that the easy raid is supposed to be setting free and you supposidly just hook your stuff up and go, but that's not true. You have to hook up your stuff then go into the bios and tell it to activate basically. There is an option in there about easy raid. That's the only way i could get...
Do you have speakers hooked up, could it be coming from those? My friend actually has a P4 machine that seems to whine when it's underload and he doesn't have speakers. It's quite odd. It doesn't seem to be related to the HDs either.
Pickup some more harddrives, and set the affinity to one or the other processors.
At work i have an older P4 and even when i set the affinity to only one core i still can't multitask at all even running a not so hardcore program. My core 2 just beats the crap out of that pentium 4.
It's probably just some software/driver problems. My 7600GT was reading at like 75 degrees one day and i was like.. wtf.. I opened the case and screwed around with everything for a while, then decided maybe it was just reading wrong. I have it set up as a dual boot with X64 so i went in there...
Water is the best medium for exchanging heat. Ideally pure water should be used, only problem is water can also boil. This transfers massive amounts of heat but can also blow up pumps and then now flow the heat away properly and stuff like that. Which is why antifreeze is used to increase the...
Pardon, but the best is actually a gigapixel..

Check out the shuttle pics, pretty cool...http://www.gigapxl.org/gallery-shuttleday.htm
I don't get why you would even start lapping it before you tested to see if it was damage from the drop. Now if it doesn't work you have two variables that could have potentially caused it, and now you definitely can't return it if it doesn't work. *shrugs*
But hopefully it just works. It's...
Got some reading for us or something? I thought the sodium would boil upwards, kinda like hot air in a hot air balloon. If the top most point in the pipe is your NB chip then it'll bring all the heat to itself, and not to the radiator.
I haven't experience it myself but i've read that it'll raise temperatures some. I orginally when i built my computer had ordered an inverted case, and then ordered my motherboard with a heat pipe. I later found out it raised temperatures, then it just so happend that the case i ordered was...
I'm guessing it could happen at any point really, but realistically it would happen during manufacturing or soon after you got it and used it. The liquid crystals are affixed to the walls of it's little chamber and if there are any flaws it will seperate and not be able to flex and move the way...
