Hello community,
I'm using a 43" 4K monitor at 100%/1:1 scaling and find the quadrant-snapping feature in Windows 10 to be incredibly useful for maximizing my screen real estate. However, I've been encountering an issue where, after my machine wakes from sleep, hibernation, or re-initializes...
We have a 27" iMac with three additional outputs (1x Mini-DP, 2x USB-to-HDMI) all extended. We use this with ProPresenter 7.
Is there any way to mirror the primary screen (the one built in to the iMac) to a third USB-to-HDMI device but continue extending on the three existing outputs?
This post is a continuation of the WDS VM / MDT imaging series:
Troubleshooting TFTP/PXE with WDS VM and Ubiquiti Dream Machine
Troubleshooting TFTP/PXE with WDS VM and MoFi Network MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-V3 OpenWrt router

There is nothing to solve in this post as I...
Problem is solved, see my post right after the one you quoted.
TLDR; dhcp-ignore option was set for clients presenting themselves as PXEClient. And, the dhcp-option, dhcp-boot, and dhcp-range settings needed to be set in /etc/dnsmasq.conf instead of through UCI via SSH.
Looks like I got it working!
I removed any entries I had added with these commands:
uci del dhcp.lan.dhcp_option
uci del dhcp.lan.dhcp_range
uci del dhcp.lan.dhcp_boot
uci commit
If you are using factory default of a MoFi4500 you do not have to execute the above. It was executed via SSH using...
I am running the latest firmware from MoFi Network at https://mofinetwork.com/mofi4500v3_downloads/ which would be "MOFI4500-V3-1.2.4-std"
Under Advanced > System > Software > Installed Packages the dnsmasq-full package is listed as Version 2.81-3.
The OPKG-Configuration page has this config...
This posting is basically the same thing as Troubleshooting TFTP/PXE with WDS VM and Ubiquiti Dream Machine but using a MoFi Network MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-V3 OpenWrt router instead of a Ubiquiti Dream Machine. Same exact WDS VM, so nothing has changed on the VM itself and we know that WDS and Windows...
7 years later, is that PSU even still healthy? Caps don't last forever 😳😯 has the PSU occasionally been powered on routine to maintain it? Or has the PSU been in active duty the last 7 years? Or has it been collecting dust?
As there is not a single article on the internet on this, I thought I would start a thread to see if others have been making similar observations.
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 with an i5 CPU. This laptop is at least 10 years old if not somewhere within the 15 year ballpark. When I first got...
You know what, I am not sure what went wrong where, but I believe from the machines I was testing the tftp command the root cause was Windows Firewall. By default, I guess you cannot use a TFP Client to get a file from WDS. I wager the reason is that the communication with WDS is actually...
UDM is the only DHCP server.
Server is standalone.
I used an elevated administrative Command Prompt when performing the TFTP test.
I am using Microsoft's TFTP Client (https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10).
Howdy!
I have a VM at 172.16.32.4 named CON-MDT running Windows Deployment Services. If I execute the following command on CON-MDT, it succeeds:
If I execute the same command on a different machine (such as my laptop or Intel NUC) it appears to do nothing for a while and then presents a...
Think in terms of 1000-10000 or more endpoints, and the latest CU or other patch breaks a critical line of business application resulting in 100% work stoppage for most workers. It takes time for vendors to patch their software as well as for Microsoft to fix their bugs. This happens more often...
First: you can no longer use wusa.exe to uninstall patches silently since Windows 8/Server 2016, so this is out of the question. You. Just. Can't. Do. It! Thanks Microsoft (for ingeniously deciding that parameters /quiet and /kb:kb123456 are illegal to use together). Sometimes wusa.exe will be...
I would like to have productive VR-AR hybrid. I have come to find that a 43" 4K monitor has the sweet spot, but the next step is VR-AR hybrid, but it has to be able to exceed the value of a 43" 4K monitor for productivity in usability, resolution, and sense.
It would be super if it will be possible to install Windows 10 / Linux as it would offer a very nice amount of horsepower for things like Folding@Home, video and 3D rendering, and other intensive tasks.
For "lightweight" I am expecting the OS to have a boot time of "lightning fast" from a USB 1.1 port with a feature set equal to a zero client (bare minimum requirements + straight-up RDP capability). Reality is likely different based on what is available, though.
If you are serious about video production, do yourself a favor by doing research and realize that professional cards have nothing on non-professional cards in term of rendering performance. Professional cards won't provide any benefit or justification.
EDIT: I did some more digging to find this...
Did some research and I definitely agree, this is a big one. I didn't know that HDMI was limited to 24/30p @ 4K and handled half the bandwidth of DisplayPort. DisplayPort is clearly the winner, and the next revision of DisplayPort will dominate even more with 8Kp60 support and 32Gbps...
Other influencing factors:
The stand. Can you find a 42" 4K TV that has a stand like most computer monitors do? I.e. HP Z43 computer monitor has a "proper" stand (granted, if your environment permits, a VESA mount works as an alternative whether TV or computer monitor is used)
Matte screen...
So, let me tell you, this happens EVERY year ("I swear!" as others might say). When I had a Nokia Lumia 1020 (the phone with the 41MP camera) I came to observe that it seems that every year Microsoft plays out this shenanigans making it known that Windows Phone is dead and will no longer be...
