Picked mine up when BB dropped the price.....my local BB already had sold 3 when I picked up mine at 9pm that night.....a day later, the ONLY available store is in Chico which is like 3 hours drive away from Sacramento!!!
Glad I picked up mine before BB ran out again. Hooked it up to 720p DLP...

 First of all, u DONT need to buy ALL 3 consoles to get the benefits of exclusives...this is rapidly changing as devs are targeting the ENTIRE gaming market by going multi-platform. Of course first party devs are still sticking to their own console of choice...but then, how many...
Any good mobo's out there for under $150 with the IEEE 1394 port on it and also supports Quad-Core? I need this as I just bought a Cannon Elura camcorder and will need to transer my homemade movies to PC.
The mobo will pair with E6600. I was thinking of the GIGABYTE-DS3 mobo but found it...
WORD!! I've been waiting for at least one year now and will be ordering my Wishlist from NewEgg tonight. After that, I'll cease reading about whats around the corner till I feel my system NEEDS a upgrade, whether that may be 6 or 10 months from now.

One month of ownership and loving it so far......360 games look awesome at 1080p.
Got one question though....For my 360 via VGA, I manually have to decrease the sharpness to 30 each time when I power on the monitor. Is there a way to make the settings stick for each input?
Thx

Nice :) :) ....shouldn't be too soon before other retailers join in!! I ordered a Logitech 230 speaker system from them on Monday with free standard shipping (5-7 days) and was surprised FedeX delivered it on Wed morning....2 days just like Egghead! I read the return address and then I realised...

Cant speak for PS3 but I have 360 set to 1080p via VGA.....though games are rendered at 720p...I posted this (Splinter Cell-DA) a while back......aspect is set to 1:1 with little borders on top and bottom but very hard to notice. Tried "Fill" mode which doesn't look too bad but I prefer the true...
With my up-coming new rig (after price cuts), I have a question of how to optimise the single 320 GB HDD for gaming (its gonna be the Seagate 320 GB with perpendicular recording).
Should I create 2 partitions and keep the OS/apps on one while use the secondary parition for games?
Or should...
Same thing happened to my Samsung drive which was 2 years old....I even flashed the firmware to no avail....since the drive was old, I simply replaced it with a NEC Lightscibe burner......didn't really wanna spend my precious trying to 'fix' a 2 yrd old drive;)

I can relate to u.......Currently, Im a 75% console/25% PC gamer and after moving the 360 from my 57" Hitachi HDTV to my Dell 2407 (a04...4 weeks old) , I like the new setup better,,,,,maybe its the fact now Im gaming from a feet away so the immersive factor is more.
Im not having any issues...
Just redid my old setup after getting this desk from OfficeDepot over the weekend. PC is a 3 yr old P4 with a top of the line 9600 VC:D :D
Will be doing a complete overhaul of my PC in 2 weeks...have the cash ready but will wait for the new price-cuts before dishing out $1400 (with Vista)...
Dell 2407 A04 owner here.....PC on DVI, XBox 360 on VGA set to 1080p with 1:1 aspect:D ......extremely happy with my $610 purchase with 3 yrd warranty.
There might be better panels out there but at this cost+warranty, I can't complain.
Still downloading Oblivion expansion thru Live right...

I already have a Samsung LightScribe DVD burner that I'll be salvaging from my current dying system. System comes out to $1200 which is around my max budget. This will 'marry'...
Anybody has any success finding a preview/review on this thing? I already have a Phillips HDMI-DVI cable so the lack of DVI doesn't bother me. Still interested in seeing what kind of a scaler it uses for non-1080p material

Damn.....specs look pretty good since it has all the main ones HDMI+DVI+Components.
I have one more week on the 2407 until I can return it and having the 37w3 previously, I know Westinghouse makes some great monitors.
Does we know what kinda panel it uses?
Thanks
Frag
I downgraded from a 37w3 Westinghouse LCD as for everyday use, etc, I found the size rather too big. Also the bigger dot pitch was very obvious siting from 2 feet away.
I have the Dell 2407 right now ...ordered it about a week ago and am loving it so far. Was tempted for the 27" older cousin...
Im 60% console, 40% PC gamer and just picked up the Dell 2407 last week....so far, got no complaints with it at the price I got it at.

I was in the same boat as u and decided to go with the 2407+Onkyo S790 HTS and it came out to less than the price of 2707. Im not willing to pay extra $500 for 3 inches, especially since they both use the same panel.
But its your money and u probably have real-life priorities like I do, so...
Hi Jim
I received my Dell 2407, Rev04 yesterday and tested it with my XBox360 with VGA on 1080p and do not notice any ghosting, tearing or loss of detail in FEAR, FIFA07 and NFS. I have also posted a couple of shots on the monitor and so far, 360 looks pretty good to a point where I've paired...

I just tried moving several colored icons on my desktop with a black background and do not see those 'trails' u r talking about. And mine is not even calibrated...still sitting at the default manufactureres settings.

Got mine today as well.....Rev04 made in Mexico......still trying to set it up but compared to my 19" CRT, this looks like a monster. Haven't really done any calibration yet but so far, very pleased, especially since I got it around $610+taxes.
Tested with XBox 360 with VGA cable at 1080p. Both...
I jumped on the Dell 2407 deal last week when it dropped to $629+taxes and since our Internet was down at home, I decided to order it thru Sales...all went good and they gave me my order #.
I waited for a day and got nothing in my e-mail and since I already have a Dell account, I went and...
Can someone please post about performance with XBox 360? I do about 65% XBox 360 gaming (PC gaming a little dry at the moment) and for some reason, there're hardly any reports for console gaming (specially 360) on the Rev 4. If graphics/ghosting/tearing,etc are pretty bad, I might just save...
Ex Westy here and it was a little overkill for me. I already have a 57" HDTV for regular movies/TV so was using the Westy mostly for PC/console. In about 4 months, I found it a little bigger and have been looking for something between 24"=>32" and just ordered a Dell 2407.
I'll give the 2407...

Im looking for a 2.1 or 5.1 system for my PC+360 (using optical) so any recommendations? I currently have the 360 hooked up to my big screen TV but will be moving it to my newly Dell 2407 monitor. I also have PC 2.1 PC speakers currently so need a way to feed both my and 360 into a...
Yes and wait for another series of Rev's on the new HC panels before Dell irons out everything:D
Im happy with my 2407 Rev4 and at the price I got it for, I can't really complain.

Ex-Westy 37w3 owner here and for general usage, its unbeatable for the low price, combined with 37" of full 1080p BUT if u need it for PC gaming, I suggest look at true PC monitors such as the Dell 3007 (IPS panel, I think) as the dot pitch on the Westy is slightly bigger, hence at close-ups on...

U are obvioulsy a console gamer, hence prefer the comfy of your couch.......for me, I own a Hitachi 57" HDTV (ISF calibrated) and picture quality beats most others BUT based on my lifestyle, I spend more time in front of my PC/monitor than on the couch so gaming on a soon-to-be Dell 2407 is more...
Unless u planning to go down HD-DVD/Blue-Ray route, u can get a more than decent 720p native display instead of the 37w3.
Note the reason why the 37w3 is popular here is a lot of people use it as their PRIMARY PC monitor and is dead cheap for a 1080p display but for general TV viewing, I'd...
