Really dont see what the controversy will be in this one. I mean lets face it, the reality is that every sim city/tycoon game is basically this exact same planned economy/dictator mechanic! This one just actually acknowledges that in the title!
Anyone else think the graphics in that video look a lot like the old Chip's Challenge game? I am sure that game is the origin of all these architectural bugs!
Anyone notice the picture for this news post was an old F/A-18 (from the looks of it a Blue Angles variant)?? Probably one of the slowest military planes out there today! Not even the super hornet variant!
I really dont know about jail time, but a hefty fine, or better yet a court order to provide reasonably high end version for free, would be a good way to go. What they did was stupidly wrong and a message should be sent that if you do this sort of thing you loose the right to whatever you a...
I am going back to hand written documents! With all the "word processing" i do these days no one can read my handwriting anyway! Also my spelling is so bad OCR/Document reading would effectively be encrypted! Its foolproof!
I would have to agree with azuza001! What I get out of this is screw patching, run an OS so old no one knows how to target it any more! Now where are my Windows 95 floppies? Or maybe Mac OS 9 if you really want under the radar?
I wonder what the true economic impact of this discussion is vs say the GDP of the country. While this virus/worm outbreak was quite spectacular it only generated around $50K for the virus agent (so really not all that much spent on decryption). Its lead to several days of clean-up on several...
This is awesome news, what I really hope though is that it finally lets you into buildings! Google maps supports going through many buildings (the Ottawa Air & Space Museum is particularly well done). I have been really hoping this makes it to the Google Earth VR environment for my vive!
I dont know if JD has gone far enough yet to get the kind of backlash that is needed, but this is just stupid the road they are on! I am very much a DIY guy, and I am one family tree brach away from a field loving farming family. My family history is in farming and self repairs of the equipment...
Oooooo Vermillion is missing a cuople:
OpenBox
BlackBox
ROX Desktop
Fluxbox
I tend to stick to one of the big two KDE or Gnome... I am doing a bunch of Qt development these days and enjoy it much more than GTK, so that is biasing me.
Fully agree with dumping Unity. I used it a couple of times and found it brutal to use day to day. I always install Kubuntu or Gnome Ubuntu these days. I like the package system and applications that Ubuntu comes with but Unity was/is a no go.
I cant understand why they haven't already gone disk-less! I mean the last time I bought a disk for any PC game was probably when Halo came out for the PC all those years ago! PC Gaming has been effectively disk less for years now.
It all comes down to how they implement it. If they do...
Hmmmm I wonder when Android will take over Chrome OS as Google's prefered desktop OS. With a mouse and keyboard i think it could make a reasonable content creation/consumption OS... I.e. fully replace windows!
The simple question is why? Who is going to come out with Adblock Plus for Windows 10??? I am still happily running windows 7 at home and have had absolutely no need to take on what is effectively an advertising platform as an OS. I heard windows 8.1 was also good, but again no need to...
I sure hope VR is here to stay! I have an HTC Vive setup and it is truly phenomenal and has changed much of what I enjoy in gaming. What is interesting is my video card is an old ATI 7970 and while it is by no means VR "certified" it works well enough for what I do. Leading contender for my next...
Wait I thought that FCC rules prohibit this kind of issue? I thought that almost all electronics that get FCC certification are required to handle interference up to certain power levels (well beyond those reachable by a router)?
VR is definitely a premium experience right now. Having saved up for 7 months though to buy a vive I can still say it is 100% worth it! By far the most gaming I do these days is in the Vive. Most playing Vive Craft (moded minecraft) and a solid flight sim. It is a phenomenal experience.
I look...
I have been playing Minecraft with the Vive Craft mod for a couple of months now, it is super awesome! I also have been messing around with a flight sim that works with the vive, it is truly a breathtaking experience. I am completely sold on VR and cant wait for it to continue to grow. It is the...
This is a really interesting observation... in most of the exploration of a new world there was one really rich guy (Chris Columbus, Francis Drake, etc.) who was politically connected enough to get funding for the expeditions. He then basically conscripted a group of people to man the...
Wow this was a click-bate article! I linked it to a friend before reading it... now I regret that. It had literally no reason to advocate for upgrading to Windows 10 other than the guy said he got it to work on his Mac Mini... Kudos... so what? Windows 10 will also run on a Ras Pi... that doesnt...
A friend of mine here just found this new Philips screen coming out that allows for 4-way, 4-input screen splitting! Here is the link to it, http://www.philips.com.au/c-p/BDM4350UC_75/brilliance-4k-ultra-hd-lcd-display.
It looks like exactly what someone wanting to do a multiplayer Xen/Qemu...
Looking them up now, that would be exactly the feature set I am looking for but ideally a bit larger size!
Edit:
After digging up the very broken English version of their website, it looks like the largest screen they make these days is 30" :(
The gist, I have split my desktop into 2x 3D accelerated windows VMs.
What I am looking for is a single display that will allow me to split the display over two inputs. Samsung's UHD screens almost do this you can split the screen over any HDMI input and the old coax input... this does not help...
Wow... this discussion comes up several times a year... and has been doing so for many many years... and I think the last time Linux gained a single point of market share was when Windows Vista came out... then it lost several points when Windows 7 came out. Windows 10 has to be about the...
I like windows 7!
I have no need for Windows 10, all the reviews I have read, all the screen shots I have seen of it provide no clear reason to upgrade from Windows 7. Its a "pretty SO"... so I OSX.
Is it more stable than Windows 7? I doubt it, as I have not seen a BSOD or any stability...
This caught me last weekend. I was so ticked off at MS that I seriously looked into seeing what it would take to convert my PC to a Hackintosh... The fundamental issue I keep running into is that I use CAD all the time and the two CAD packages are SolidWorks or Inventor... neither of which run...
I am in on this one... If I win this will be my excuse to build a better system!

If I dont win this will still be my excuse to build a better system!
