I have HD cable and most channels are in 1080i....and then my tv de-interlaces into 1080p. Cable will be 1080i for a very long time, but with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD you can get higher res.....which isn't that noticeable for me. But using it as a huge computer monitor....it's CRITICAL!!

THe problem is that most sites don't want to host giant pictures. you have to look specifically for a site that doesn't have limits. there is a thread around here with a link to sites that don't scale and even allow uncompressed formats like tiff and raw.
