Pretty good comparison... an item that will leave your bowels in less then a day (hopefully) vs something you'll be using on a daily basis for 6 months to 3 years.
That said, if you feel like blowing enough money on a meal that could have fed a family for a month... that's your...
Not entirely for me... but it would improve my gaming experience.
My wife has been eying a few games that I have been playing. I'd love to pop this in her rig so we can play together. Coming from what she's currently using (GTX260)... it would put her in the same realm I'm in at the moment...
I'd suggest against this unless you have absolutely zero plans to overlclock. VT-d (last I checked) wasn't very well supported by VirtualBox. So make sure that whatever you are using (solidly) supports this feature. Even if it does support, you may see better results with a higher clocked...
Why on earth would you pay for a feature that would require more work/effort on your part... only to gain a lesser product from said effort? You are guaranteed those clocks... I'd just return the card if it doesn't not perform up to spec.
If you sat on it (returning the card) too long... then...
Call me cynical...
... But having a phase changing liquid in a sealed cap (against PCB) sound like a terribly bad idea. I know... it's not the original intention of your post.
I don't think the oil will get hot enough to do this or even expand sufficiently to break the seal... but still...
Have you tried to underclock the processor? Drop the voltage to it as well? I wouldn't be surprised if you could get it down to 60-80W after everything is said and done.
Also, do you have a discrete video card attached to this PC? Onboard video? Is this machine headless? Can it be made...
Not terrific, but not horrible either.
If your patient...
The non-reference Asus or Gigabyte cards were selling for about $400 a week or so back. I'd imagine they'll hit that price mark again as soon as they're back at a decent stock level.
Actually... that would be Apple. Making around $25 billion, which is about $1 billion dollars less then Chevron.
AT&T and Verizon are fairly low (@ a scant $4 and $2.5 billion) on the profits earned list. Nothing to sneeze at, but certainly no were near #2 on the corporate wallet rape meter.
... The carriers haven't been fighting those wars... Wars tend to be a drain on resources and generally bad for business (unless you're an arms dealer). The problem is that the carriers in the US tend to avoid innovation until they start losing consumers (read: money) over it.
... Unless...
They're the same card; with the same components. People say that there is better binning (doubtful with the dismal availability of this chip) involved with the TOPs, but the amount of unhappy buyers that can't run at stock settings tells me otherwise. Too many for comfort can't remain stable...
Ouch.. thanks for the heads up. I might just deny my DCII that's on the way from Amazon now that I know this. I thought the backplate would help with sagging....
Anyone know of a decent AMD7xxx and/or Nvidia 6xx overclock db? I appreciate what we have going on the forums, but between the banter and somewhat off topic posts... getting a good idea of what to expect from a purchased card is getting a little fuzzy.
Any suggestions folks? Google has not...
Yes, but it's not going to stir any excitement for a product refresh (although, product band-aid is probably closer to the truth) that performs almost identically the same as something that was released about 6 months ago. 1180Mhz could have been obtained 6 months ago... at the same price...
Read: You paid too much for your card. If AMD is releasing a 1100 MHZ card, then you you've definitely spent too much.
Bravo to you on your deliciously malicious and asinine comment sir. <golf clap> I too often feel the need to put others down in a round about way based on their purchase...
I think it would have been more effective if he had just promoted their (Nvidia) competitors as the way to go (due to open source drivers) when making your Linux/Optimus based purchases. Between the pressure of having your competitors kicking your ass and now an added pressure of having big...
I don't think we need a ruling to fix this problem. I have my doubts, but hopefully it's the consumers that tell companies like Bioware what they think about their deceptive practices... with their wallets.
I've never understood how those are street legal.
Caution: Objects in mirror are further than they appear.
Go figure. We have laws/regulations that require completely flat side mirrors, but zero problems are had when you're blinding people (because you're a jackhole) in front of you...
Well it is what is is. People can either buy it for what it is or wait for an emulated server/hack (no I'm not advocating piracy, begone troll(s)) that allows for offline single player mode.
I think his real gripe is that he can't play the game offline. Not that he can't play the game...
Of course. But Blizzard's track record on identifying who is cheating scum and who is an innocent caught in the crossfire has been lack luster. I've read (and even played with a few) about plenty who end up getting their account banned after getting hacked. This was mostly due to the...
I liken this to lifting up the covers when you know for a fact that your significant other is plagued by horrible gas. You know what's going to come out is going to just stink... :p
Seriously though... arguing with people like this is like trying to convince a Westboro church goer to leave a...
That's quite a stretch there buddy. I guess life for some wouldn't be quite as fulfilling if they didn't get to shove words in others mouths though...
or maybe
Perhaps you could have just reported his post and let the mods take care of it.. you know... since he's obviously outed himself...
Thank you kindly for the offer (really, I appreciate it), but I will respectfully decline. A lot of my previous post was self reassurance that not playing the game was a good idea... which was more or less a poor attempt to deflect the fact that I'd end up a hopeless addict if I did ever start...
I'm sorry that so many people have gotten screwed or are unhappy with the game...
But I have to say that I'm pretty damn satisfied with my decision to stay away from this game the moment I heard about the online AH allowing real money purchases/only online single player. Reading through 4...
Because your average every day idiot will understand "jaggies" or "jagged edges" when talking about games. Mention a word like "aliasing" and you're going to be greeted with a very blank I-could-care-less stare. ;)
Some people are willing to pay a premium for the single most powerful card they can get their hands on. High priced items like this rarely make sense to people who don't wipe their ass with dollar bills. :D
