Thantos: Yeah thankfully a lot of people warned me off them and the Noctua's are getting rave reviews at the moment so im happy about that.
****** Update Time ******
Well, things still arent going to plan and im not completely happy at the moment. I am thinking about ordering some more...
Good afternoon everyone.
Once again its update time, though its only a small update this time, but one i think most of you would want :)
Well after my bending brake went tits up and wanted to annoy me more than bend the stuff i wanted bent (not gays were hurt in the making of this pun ;D)...
Update time :)
Well this week has been eventful in more ways than i would of liked. I started work on sanding down the pieces i had already cut (HDD, PSU, Rad Caddies and the PSU Backplate)
I managed to get a jigsaw and sander for like £12 off ebay brand new due to a company going bust, i...
hey hey hey.
Yup its time for another update. The tools arrived and ive managed to do some extra work on the project. Im hoping to get quite a bit done over the next few days.
First off, the motherboard has been ordered and should be with me on Thursday. Ive also ordered a boat load of...
$210 for the board and $40 to ship to the UK
So all in all it cost me $250 dollars which is about £125-£130, but if i get hit by customs it could go up, but was still cheaper than to buy here.
Small Update for you guys :)
Currently waiting for my cutting discs and metal drill bits to arrive, in the mean time all i can pretty much do is start filing down which is going to be fun.
That said, it obviously means that ive done the cutting As youll see from below all the parts have...
Those fans look huge on that :)
Also im going for a 9800gx2. Its designed to take the longer graphics card out there :)
Power and portability all the way.
To be honest i want to do it by hand, but i know it will be exhausting. I do IT Support in a college so im hoping they will have a mounted drill so it will be the same angle so all ill have to worry about is the spacing. What really matter is the front and that will be done using a predone bit...
No this isnt an illusion, i am back and with a small update, though more to follow :)
First off, sorry for the lack of updates, this has been due to the real world getting in the way and a lot less time on my hands thanks to my new job.
There have been a few small changes to the design...
Small update for you all.
As i was about to head out to go back to Bristol for the weekend a parcel arrived. 4 days earlier then expected i got the last bits of my tools....
Also a few people wanted updated overall views of the case.... now with added feet :) So here they are...
Hey hey everyone.
Sorry for the delay of the update, i have been distracted by things such as my Team Fortress 2 Map, looking for a job, and also someone introduced me to EVE.
Not much has happened work wise. that said the designs are nearly 100% complete and majority of the stuff that i...
Blaze:
Ive been thinking for a while now that if the case gets enough praise and people like it so much, then i will make replicas and sell them on. Maybe with different themes and stuff, but id obviously have to look in the cost of it, be it money and or time. But yes ive definitely thought...
Well guys you know what time it is... yup its update time :)
Sadly this update has been a bit longer in the making, down to me being a bit busy and a bit lazy.
Thanks very much so far for all the comments everyone has left this project on the 9 forums that it is posted on. All the comments...
Randolf i was thinking about that. If i can get center sub and rear on the rear output and mic over a seperate board dongle then id be happy. Though im going to have to get in contact with Portwell to find out for sure. Let me know if you get any more info on this.
Sad thing with Mini-ITX boards is that yiou have to make some compromises somewhere along the line in what it does or doesnt have.
I used Google Sketchup to do all the designs. Lovely little program.
Will be back around later with another small update :)
Hey guys i thought id start this Project log rolling seeing as some revived an old project. Instead of carrying on from a project log used for another project which i have put on hold i decided to start this so everyone knows that all that i post in this thread is related to this mod. First off...
cheers for the link, though i think for my plan to work i will have to keep fingers crossed for a flex pci-e extender.
Think ive found what i was looking for: PCI-E Flexi Extender
Well gordy, i planned to do soemthing like you did with Project Mini me, just without the shuttle mobo.
Ive heard the shuttle 250w psu can power quite a lot, though you wouldnt think it from its wattage size.
Im designing the rough layout in sketchup as we speak so i shall get you some...
Yeah, thing is im a bit of a DIY freak, and well i wasnt looking at the shuttle because theyve gotten sloppy recently and i dont like the propreitary tech. Im not really fussed about the money (within reason) as i have most of the parts already, all i really need to get is the mobo and psu and...
Yeah i didnt think there would be an external power brick powerful enough thats why i also suggested running 2 Shuttle 250w psus in tandom to provide enough power.
Also do you have any suggestions for boards in those form factors?
Hey guys, im new to the Mini-ITX scene, and was wondering if a high end mini-itx pc is possible.
What im looking for is:
Mini-itx system
Intel Core2Duo
PCI-E ATI x1950XT (or there abouts)
At least 2Gb of ram
slim slot loading DVD-RW
2 or 3 Sata HDD
I was looking at this motherboard...
Hey guys, just a question.
With the v300 is anyone else getting a slow pulsating sound from vibrations through the case.
Im not sure if its the case, though im betting money that its my Maxtor drive ive got inside.
It drives me nuts, i wouldnt mind if it was constantly loud as id get used...
First off any PSU that is 15cm long will not fit.
I have the Hiper Modular 580w which is now running on top of my case as it wont fit. I have a seasonic 600w which is 13cm long which should fit dandy.
Secondly, i need some advice here from people who already have this case.
I noticed...
I would like to inform people that if getting this case, beware of having modular PSU's.
I swapped my system over before i head of to a lan in holland in a couple of days time, and realised that my Hiper Modular PSU doesnt fit due to the long inflexible connectors.
I am soon buying a...
Heya guys im looking around hardware sites in the UK for the Black Ice GTS 240 Radiator and cant find it anywhere.
Anyone know where the cheapest place i can buy it from?
Knewi forgot something.
The spec is what im running in this current system which is as follows:
Opteron 165 @2.5ghz
Biostar Tforce 6100m9 Skt939 Motherboard
2Gb Gskill ZX DDR Ram
X1900XTX (Sapphire)
320Gb Maxtor HDD
500Gb HDD (which will replace my failing 160Gb HDD)
Hyper Modular...

That is true, but also with R&D notice the R, research, they should of researched what was coming out in the near future and the spec and dimensions of the cards.
I personally hate 9" cards, we want things to get smaller not bigger and bigger.
I finally decided to start modding my Lian Li V300. Some people might ask why... as it is a nice case, which it is true, its a gorgeous case, but can be greatly improved on in places, and this is what i plan to do.
My plan is to modify the Lian Li V300 case, so that it can accomodate a full...

Im personally removing the floppy caddy and one of the cdrom caddies and modifying the 80mm fan mounts so they can mount a dual 120mm radiator there. Custom sides will be made to fill in the holes of the removed caddies.
Well its got the space, the only problem is that normal dual 80mm radiators have the fans side by side. As you can see from my pictures, the dual 80mm at the front have got about 3cms between them.
Good points on the V300 dworley, ill have to check that out when i start work on this case.
Ive decided to take out both the floppy drive and the cd rom drive to leave enough room for watercooling.
and yes i do hate that you cant take it apart unless you want to Re-rivet the whole thing...
I think we should stop the arguements now before this becomes locked. But thanks for your support MrSlacker, but i see where Steeeve is coming from.
No i have not owned a Q-Micra.
No i have not installed things in the case. (but neither have i with the v300)
But i have seen it in person...
