After working on my first front-mounted-PSU case (Lian-Li A05) I've been obsessed with cases that mount PSU's in the front thereby reducing the case size or width to that of the motherboard.
I've been out of the game for a while and started noticing more and more...
Not sure if this belongs here but for those using double-wide graphics cards that block other slots, have you used an extension cable to still use a sound card?
If so, any suggestions on a cable? The one's I've researched apparently still don't fit behind a double-wide square card.
Hey all, been out of the game for a while and about to put together a new rig.
I have a couple of 240 radiators, blocks, reservoirs, pumps, etc and I know it's a bit gunky inside.
Can you guys share your methods on prepping / cleaning these components to try and avoid any issues for my new build?
Hey all, I've been out of the game for a while...
I have an unused i5-2400 that I want to use for a new build. I don't want to get "too much" video card vs. the CPU and looking to get into triple monitor gaming ( three 1680x1050 monitors).
I'm not against dual graphics cards so I'd be fine with...
thanks guys
How about the 7750 compared to my current 5770.
Looks like there's be a good power consumption improvement but how about gaming? (1920x1200)
Hey all,
I'm not doing to well on my Google / Newegg searches to find a single slot card to replace my current ATI 5770.
I've seen a few AFOX cards but can't seem to find them available...
Also saw a more available 6770 but for some reason, it looks like it can't outperform a 5770...
Thanks for all the responses guys
@shawnramsey - I game @ 1920x1200 - I believe that's still considered high-res but with all the multimonitor setups I don't know any more
So I'm basically hearing that I should push my dual core further - maybe to 3.8 - 4.0GHz and if it doesn't hold up, go at...
I'm thinkin about slappin on another 5770 but something tells me my 550BE (3.6GHz) isn't going to cut it.
No, I can't unlock the other cores.
Will a higher overclock on my dualcore suffice or do I need to look at quads?
TIA>
Hey all,
Tryin to get a dual-boot setup going.
Currently using Windows 7 32-bit and want to add XP dual boot.
Per instructions, first step is to go to Disk Management in 7 and shrink the C: volume but the amount of space available to shrink is only 1047 MB. I have over 22GB of free...
Thanks for the response guys.

My contract currently has an extra 3rd phone line (first two lines are myself and wife).
It was previously connected to a Sony Ericson.
I have an old iPhone 2G that I want to be able to use as a phone. I do NOT want data services if possible.
On my AT&T account online, I changed the...
thanks for your detailed response Scot +rep if i could
gonna update now per your instructions.
Sam - yea I used to be the same way but apparently this new ATi Driver has a "10% performance boost on Black Ops" and I NEED that lol... :o:o:o
yea... we'll see.
I've been using ATi's standard executable driver updates but I'm always reading how the "right" way to do it is to uninstall / delete / driver clean etc etc...
could someone clarify exactly what I need to do to update my driver to the latest one?
*EDIT (Title) - it should read "access email ADDRESSES of registered users"
I'm assisting a client who currently has his forum hosted at FuseTalk.
He is the owner / administrator of that forum but he can't seem to figure out how he can access the email addresses of registered users. He's...
and a few more questions...
Where can I find benchmarks on 2xquad core compared to 2x6 core performance? To help reduce costs, we may end up with dual quad cores instead.
Hey all -
Looking for some help building a music-producer friend of mine build a Hackintosh.
His target rig: 12-core Mac Pro
His budget: Make it cheaper than buying a Mac Pro
From Apple's site:
I've built dozens of rigs - including servers - but never anything of this caliber and this would...
I'm trying to access files on an old XP laptop drive that I have connected as an external USB drive...
I'm setting permissions on the direct folders that are in there... am I missing something?
Partition that had OS pooped out on buddy's laptop and he asked me to go see what I can save from his Documents folder.
I put the drive in an external enclosure -
I can see the folders but when I click a file, it says I "don't have the correct permissions to access the file location"...
I've...
As in - when using "save to desktop" or "send to desktop" functions,
is there a way to change where the icons start being placed?
By default obviously, it starts at the top left...
I'd like it to start on the bottom-right.
Trivial, I know. But just wondering...
Finishing off a build for a buddy. Re-used a hard drive from his old system to fresh-install Windows 7 32bit.
Previously, there was a Win 7 upgrade (from Vista I believe).
After passing boot screen, it asks which OS I want to use:
Basically two Win 7 choices.
I know which one to choose...
I'm seeing threads on how some people are actually DOWNGRADING their OS's from 7 to XP to play Black Ops (lol?)
What does Windows 7 bring to the table in terms of 'enhanced' gaming?
DX11 compatibility? I'm kinda clueless to what DX games are using vs. all the new DX's showing up...
it's a perfect shi*-storm actually.
Money & Volume = Consoles
Less piracy = Consoles
Ease of development for consistent hardware = Consoles....

thanks entro for the tip. Yea, I've had my share of incompetence over the phone and having someone in-person would probably be more effective. I've got locations nearby so I think I'll give it a go.
My current issues are -
No ability to use the PIN system on her phone,
no BBM,
Can't setup...
I have an EK wave block that was used on my old 939 system.
It's the block at the bottom of this page: http://www.coolercases.co.uk/acatalog/ek.html
My question is - does it fit on an AM3 socket? or, is there an adapter out there that can be used to fit this block on an AM3 socket...
got it. I guess I"m going to have to call in since my attempts at addressing the service books issue has gone fruitless when trying to do it under normal methods.
It won't even let us get into BlackBerry Internet Services.
Hey all,
My wife is on my Family plan. I have an iPhone 4 and she has a BlackBerry Bold 9700.
I'm not good at deciphering cell phone plans but I understand that she and I have a shared phone plan, a shared messaging plan, but then individual data plans.
I grandfathered into the iPhone...
I'm not too strong on the wireless speed knowledge with K's and k's and such...
Just wondering a couple things:
1 - Is there such thing as a reliable USB solution for wireless N?
2 - USB data transfer speeds vs. wireless N speeds... Are there bottlenecks / limitations?
I currently have access to both cards but can't figure out which one to use.
Generally speaking, is it better to use a higher last-gen card or current mid-range card?
I've been having an issue where certain .jpg's show up as a stretched, squished down image.
As in, an 800x600 picture looks like a horizontal line in Windows Picture Viewer. What's displayed is the same image but only about 10-15 pixels tall by xxx wide. Squished and stretched considerably...
if it is in fact a resource delegation matter, then your LAN connection has nothing to do with it.
Reports basically are saying that the way the game uses resources is not balanced. For instance, it'll use a 100% CPU, but only 20% of your GPU causing stuttering due to your CPU being pegged...
