The nonprofit I'm with used to have weekly group video chats via Skype, and it was a terrible experience. We started using Google+ hangouts though, and the meetings have gone much better. Especially for being free, it's perfect.
The only people I do free work for are my neighbors. Between the two of them I can borrow almost anything I might need, ranging from power tools to heavy-duty excavating equipment. In the fall my neighbor will inevitably ask if I can fix his computer, and I alway say "Hell yes!" because then a...
Was able to cancel a 2x32GB order from OnSale, and reorder for 2x16GB. I didn't see that they had the 16GB versions at first, but since my wife and I really won't need to store much on these it's worth saving $100. Besides, now she doesn't have to worry about messing up her laptop in the...
You didn't think hard enough. The manager of my local Best Buy got arrested for this same scam after getting over $30K in cash. This actually seems to be a pretty common thing...
Sorry, we all bow down to your superior knowledge and ability to tax a network like none of us can.
Just chill man. We don't even know what he's using the network for, so a suggestion of wireless isn't uncalled for. If no one in the house is doing anything other than surfing the net there...
Basically HIPAA comes down to protecting PHI/PII from anyone who doesn't NEED to access it. Even if it's someone internal, and they don't have a legitimate reason for accessing the data. Also, just home Medicare/Medicaid isn't involved, because if it is, there's even more restrictions...
I thought that's what it was. Yeah, that doesn't need much power at all. I've seen 100+ terminals supported by one dual PIII server with 3GB of RAM just fine. There's honestly not much of a need to do work directly on the server with Aloha, which is a good thing.
In the end anything you've...
OP, what POS system are you using? I've worked with a few POS systems for food and retail, and you'd be surprised at how well such systems work on little power. None of the systems you've listed are low powered, but trust me, you don't need a SSD for this.
what HTIB?
whithout knowing, I'm going to guess this: hook the PS3 up to the receiver with HDMI, and then run HDMI from the receiver to the TV. For the cable box, run a coax or optical cable to another audio in on the receiver, and leave the component hooked up to the TV.

It's a combination of the two (at least all of the ones I've seen). It's going to be open like the first one, but have the tabs like you can see on the second.
No, you need an "old construction" low voltage box. What you linked is a new construction box, and installing that in an existing wall will be a pain. The difference is that an old construction box has a tab at the top and bottom that hold itself against the existing drywall.
That may not...
Wow. That was my problem. :o
I didn't look in the "DE" folder, since I had one called "shares" on the root of the drive that had all my data in it (or so I thought).
Thanks!
Ok, so I've installed a fresh copy of WHS on a new disk. I took the old drive that used to be my old WHS (trial edition), and installed it into the system. I have not added it to the storage pool yet yet, as I want the data from that disk and I know adding it will format the disk. I can...
Wow, you added what Zenshi suggested to your sig?
Do you even understand what all of that is for? You have a receiver, and then a preamp and an amp.
What do you own from your sig? It matters, because we can make a recommendation based on what you have. If you're just trying to have...
No, you don't need an amp, and you can damage those speakers if you try and use one with them.
Also, If you like the sound, go for it! They're a great 2.0 setup compared to what you've got now.
While what others have said will work, I wouldn't go with what they're suggesting. I would leave the HTPC completely out of the loop, since it's going to be more expensive, and won't be as versatile.
I would start with a multi-effects pedal and a cheap guitar. Once you have the...
If you're looking into a receiver based set up, anything with an optical/S/PDIF out will work for the sound card. You're going to let the receiver do the actual processing, so an expensive sound card really won't help. If you have a motherboard with a S/PDIF out, then just use that and put the...
Well, I think you could get a projector, 2 large speakers (PA, not HT) + amp, and HTPC for around $5-7K. It wouldn't be the best, but it would work for filling a large room. It completely depends on his goals.
Step up to higher-end gear and 5.1 or 7.1 though, and you're absolutely right!
They set the prices, and I'll pay it. Seriously, if it's less than $500 for a quad tuner, I'll buy it. If it lives up to the feature list it's supposed to have, it's going to be worth it.
OP, how's the picture quality? Specifically, how does it compare to a normal STB? I've never seen any...
Ok, you're just being cryptic. You've been asked very specific questions, and all you can respond with is the above? WTF?
Seriously, you've got a room that's over 3300sq ft in your house, and you've only got $7K to spend? You have to understand why few are taking your request seriously...
