modular power supplies irritate me. i have a 430w antec/seasonic that came with the p150 and it wouldn't start, until i gave each drive (two 160gb ata) their own cable. which makes me say what's the point? still got cable clutter, and don't know if i am stressing the power supply and will make...
yep i overestimate cause sometimes it still aint enough. the room is sometimes 80 right now without trying -- this crappy 400w huntkey from best buy popped running a measly celeron 356 with one sata and dvdrw...
circuitcity has antec 500 basiq for $34.99 instore and online.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Antec-Basiq-500-Watt-Power-Supply-23500/sem/rpsm/oid/171018/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
i think they are (or were, knowing antec) fortrons.
i removed my neo 550 and am now trying the basiq out with...
i have the aria (clearance $50 from circuit city), and people told me it got hot and i didn't listen.
even with a celeron 3.2 cedar mill idling, the heat coming out of that power supply was enough to dry wet t-shirts. the sides and top were off as well. tried disconnecting everything except...
its now july, and they didn't drop the price further? that's very interesting (tells us a lot about how bb is running their clearances). i thought for sure it would be $10 by now!!! glad i bought mine and used it.
it worked on the visontek 3870 when they were $130 instant. i watched the cash register, he didn't do an override. i think the other situation people are talking about with teh 25% + 10% coupon was because as someone mentioned, they didn't apply it on the 4850 automatically... too new...
"Anyone outside of TX confirm this?"
i can. i am definitely outside of texas. did not see it last week. but did see it today at the cc nearby. hope this helps. mildly interested, but already bought the hd3870 from bb for $117.xx a few weeks ago, per another thread here.
also, i don't want...
i really like the way the optical drives just slide in and lock toolless. and the aluminium feels like a different grade than my original antec lanboy. thanks to everyone for the pics and info. i swapped the wires for the led also like others have posted. much thanks, wouldn't have thought of it...
those antecs are rebranded anyway. how about a top of the line fortron/sparkle or topower (who seem to be the oem for bfg's line of power supplies - the 650w i bought was anyway). got any relatives in america? best buy has some bfg/antec power supplies on clearance... even the 800w is $135.99...
the average oem minitower psu length isn't going to be enough. i bought this GT5636E http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/1014825R/1014825Rnv.shtml and the delta 400w cord won't reach in this lifetime. especially with the motherboard's connector all the way up in the right corner. i am thinking now...
"anyway, it seems Antec is now one of the least preferred brands out there? What happened?"
they rebranded/made some power supplies that were incompatible with asus (maybe the most popular diy mboard maker out there during 939 heyday) motherboards. today i swapped this into the rocketfish...
people seem to complain about their support + warranty within newegg reviews
after the way pny did me with their non-support of ti 4200s, i would pay $50 for a company with some REAL support most definitely
that said
"You can already get a non-oc 8800GTS for under 300 bucks AR,"
ht...
it did the same thing as the sirtec 300w!
couldn't even power an extra drive
what a waste of $40
at least i only opened one, the other is going back to the store!
it sounded like a ps problem to me.
i won't waste any time talking about the reason why i feel like that, as the problem is solved
congrats on the new card. happy gaming!
i have a neo 430 that came with a p150 and i don't think it's enough for the build i have
pd 805
1 160 gb sata
1 mad dog dvdrw
x1800xt
if no video card or extra opticals gone be added to the system in the future, the earthwatts, because its a fortron?
only my opinion. hope this helps...

"When I worked as a Geek Squad agent, if my store was out of Antec power supplies, I had to recommend the Dynex models, even though I was never too sure how good they were."
they are evergreen silent king 3, or lw6400h-3
i bought two of them saturday, as they are all on clearance. check bb's...
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2006/10/05/60minutes/main2069430.shtml
"The tactic was apparently used to retrieve the phone records not only of HP board members but of reporters as well. Social security numbers were also obtained, board members and journalists were followed, and there was...
they probably had to use those stickers because people are trying to rma the machines cause they think those ports on the back are supposed to work (of which i think they should - boo to an integrator selling a machine with non working ports)
same for the guy giving the cheap part advice. maybe...
and yeah i echo what already was said, except i want to stress that a lot of morons oc their stuff then return it to newegg when it doesn't work. that is why they have a restocking fee now :(
but i only buy newegg open box if i am absolutely sure i don't need the extras, cause i never get them...
"Do you want advice and feedback on computer hardware from people that actually use that hardware much like you are going to do at home, or do you want some hardware journalist that knows how to run a canned benchmark telling you what you need to buy?"
if its fair and unbiased, sure...
"Go find a P3 Pavilion and tell me what you think"
i have two. the problem was the 4A on the +12v
but all base oems do it. at least we can replace them -- dell makes it so we can't just slap any one in theirs because of those stupid grilles on the back (i also own dimension 2100 and potiplex...
so help me i thought i read this topic over a month ago at least? or does everybody who has problems with velocity micro come here to vent? i like their cases, but they need more pictures in the gallery? or maybe i was talking about during the config
i liked the pictures, nice big fan there. so that is what a badaxe looks like in action
it was interesting that they used the performance tx cases from antec? to me anyway
tried turning down hardware acceleartion in windows media player? and yeah i think downloaded nvidia drivers are useless (to me anyway)
this year so far back to 67.xx
they used to be so good and it was ati that was janky then
how times have changed
avivo (featured in x1000 cards) don't help none? i sure thought it did
that visontek 1300 pci card only needs a 250 w supply, so that means that maybe even codegen power supplys can run it...
but i have hated them since they stiffed me on my gforce 3 ti rebate from thanksgiving and best buy...
"The model I purchased is no longer available, but there's one with a 400 watt power supply for about the same price:"
dats a codegen power supply though. mine (also codegen case - sharp edges) made so much noise i took it out to see if it was a mouse running around on a wheel or something...
yes, that and
"is that the model listed on the bottom of the unit? sometimes sony will list 2 different model type number usually on sony's sit ethe model number you need to look at is located either on the lcd bezel when you open the laptop or above the keyboard."
are both true
this...
i enjoyed the review. always nice to see how the boutique builders wire it up, as i can see what i am doing right (or wrong). re the thread guessing these are graded altogether differently than the emachines, as i remember that one of the main reasons the owner of the emachines upgraders site...
yah, hp is bad about that. a year or two ago people were configging a sempron system for under $249 on the site.
i sent my money order off, but they canceled my order and sent a check
those who ordered with credit cards got in though, at least some of them.
so good luck to those who got in...
i found this thread interesting, and thought i would point out that compusa has a $14.99 router. it's similar to the edimax on newegg
hoping it offends no one. peace
"Here's the full list of stuff thats on sale."
i hope not. that sale has been running since the 11th
they are adding new/different stuff though... its interesting that they moved the pny memory off of that link, but the prices stayed the same
the lcd TVs stayed, but their prices went up...
compusa has a clearance sale going on... check the front page? some of the stuff can be gotten in the store for the same price, ie pny 512mb pc 3200 verto for $29.98 + tax. also 27inch viewsonic or sharp lcd for $499.98
