I have a node 804 now that is just massive. What is the smallest matx case I can get that will also work work with a h60. I do not have about drive bays or any extra space.
I have a ASRock H97M WS and want to use the PCIE6 (PCIE 3.0 x16 slot) to install a M5015 raid controller.
When I plug it in I do not think the system is picking up the controller. Any thoughts?
While researching found out about T-Mobile gives away a branded asus AC68UT. Picked one up yesterday, it was only a $25 deposit!
Hitting 190-210 Mbps on wireless. Thanks about the Dlink was about to pull the trigger.
I was using
Comcast 75/15
EdgeRouter X
Meraki MR18
Meraki 8 port switch
Just replaced it with
RCN 155/15
T-Mobile branded RTAC68U
Meraki 8 port switch

Cannot speak highly enough about the RTAC68U! Getting 190-205 down on wifi
I would just sell the aluminum. No offense but the craftsmanship is not there and there is no point of the case to begin with.
If you are dying to make a case why not use a 3d printer? Even if you do not own one you can make the design and pay the 15-30 to have it printed for you.
What about the wireless throughput? That's my main concern with it being AC 1200 instead 1750.
Also think I would get the B1 if I order through Amazon or do I need to hit Best Buy to confirm?
I make a bare base images with only updates by OS (i.e. Win 7, 8, 10) with a VM. Take a snapshot then copy the machine as a image using SysPrep then roll the vm back to the snapshot after.
Then inject drivers while imaging. You create driver packs that MDT looks at the bios and loads to...
Just upgraded to 155Mpbs internet at home and my MR18 is struggling to do over 80. Looking for something to replace it with.
Prefer a router/wifi combo not just a wap unless it is that good.

I am building a new vSphere 6 environment at work. I have a single esxi 6u1 host running right now ( getting ready to add more blades) and am trying to install vCenter but hitting some dns issues.

When I looked at some builds on here those seemed popular. I have used corsairs a few times over the years.
Should I look at something else? I'm open looking for a solid psu under$75

At work we are evaluating some vm monitoring tools and really want a feature that incorporates right sizing.
We currently are on vSphere 5 but will be on vSphere 6. We use Solarwinds for monitoring currently. We have 10 hosts with 80 vm's.
I was eyeballing veaam and solarwinds but looking...
I would go
250GB SSD - Partition C & D drives (C: OS only)
2x 2-4TB drive in raid 1
Backup your SSD to your raid 1 large drive that also holds your data.
Have you thought about apple for wireless? They make great devices.
Use a Airport Extreme connected to your modem. Then go as far as you have a decent signal and drop a Airport express (wireless bridge) that will extend your wireless signal.
M5015 in a N54L. I carved 400GB off my raid 5 array for vm's using iSCSI with Starwind.
The 400GB drive also has a ssd cache of 128GB with PrimoCache. The VM hosts (2x intel nucs) also have a ssd for caching. So far it works pretty well and I can do HA.
I am experiencing issues with my N54L it keeps randomly turning off with just the power button flashing yellow.
Currently the system is:
N54L
8GB ram
128 gb SSD on the 1 open sata port for OS (windows 8.1)
M5015 raid card
3x 2tb WD Red (port 1 on M5015)
2x 128GB SSD (on-borrd sas)...
I was using usb sticks. But no luck. Finally found the right vib to load for a custom 5 install.
net-e1000e-3.1.0.2-glr2-offline_bundle.zip that resolved the issue.
I need to setup a lab to work with 5.0 and test a upgrade to 5.5
Currently I am trying to install 5.0 on my 4th gen NUC (D54250WYKH) but keep running into an error on the install at 44% saying missing file esxi net-e100.v00
I used the esxi customizer to add the drivers to a 5.0 esxi...
I am revamping my esxi home lab and want a low power, small, and quiet system. I was planning on the nuc's but with the 5th gen I see you cannot add a 2nd nic and have to use a m2 drive. When doing some searches I found the shuttle ds81 that allows you to add your own processor (thinking i5 4590...
I am looking for a simple Nat router. I have a switch and WAP that will be doing all of the grunt work for data transfer inside my network.
Ended up getting a refurb EA6300 for $35 shipped.
Looking for a cheap router. Currently I have a Meraki MR18 for wireless and a HP 1910 switch. Looking for a basic device for between my modem and switch for NAT.
My internet is a 50mb connection from Comcast. Any suggestions are welcome.
