AMD 64 deserves to be higher.. considering just about everything that made the Core i everything it was/gained from predecessors came from AMD (integrated mem controller, x86-64, generational IPC increase.. etc). IMO 1. Pentium, 2. AMD 64, 3. 486DX, 4. Core i series, 5. AMD Athlon.. honorable...
Poor attempt at a troll.. that was from one of the events where amd set up equal systems , one with AMD Vega the other with 1080 to compare Vega + freeysnc vs Nv + Gsync
yep..
..."but we don’t set the price of their product. But we will drive, and do everything that we can, to get those prices to where we suggested when we launched them earlier.”
yep Newegg taking advantage , charging $130 over MSRP for pack..e-gouging at it's finest
Edit. looks like stocks coming in slowly another batch showing in newegg and Amazon taking orders
yet again more proof of people who either have limited or no experience in retail/inventory management. When a (r)etailer receives shipment, the parts are sku'd by the manu. Newegg is charging nearly $100 (ok $90) over mrsp for a reference / black bundle sku.
Nothing from that (r)etailer mentions ANYTHING about a price increase of standalone, nor of a rebate on standalone cars... again.. NOTHING in there about the stand alones being part of a rebate program.. the ONLY thing the etailer is confirming is the limited availability of the standalone...
Whats the meme-ism "SS or didn't happen" ? ie
Screenshot of Proof (Rebate from AMD..) or STFU..
The ONLY "documented source" of the supposed "Rebate Program" is Gibbo. GN sources are anonymous.."our understanding" .. is akin to The Donald saying "I heard that.." or "people are telling me...
Best Buy, that's very true.. to a fault, they pretty much stick to MSRP unless they have a sale or a product in on clearance. Was just at BB literally an hour ago and had an 1080 FE on the shelf for $699.99.
Edit: Yep just checked Newegg.. nearly $100 over MSRP for SAPPHIRE 100410L .. call it...
They include the games as part of the Black Pack. The Silver (limited edition) card is ONLY available in the pack, where as the reference (black) is part of either the Pack (at same cost of LE) or as a stand alone (no games).
I honestly don't know how people have such a hard time understanding...
Slight correction ..
all those extra transistors go towards raising the clock speed...other thing Vega adds is more compute functions..AND doubled sram caches, to OVER 45MB total (unless people actually think doing so is "free" and uses no transistors)
More BS brought to you by the same etrailer that played part in the "100Mh/s" mining rumor..
Ask yourself who has more to gain, AMD by stating pricing would be A and instead turns into C and alienating potential customers or an etailer who can sell as many cards as they can as quickly as...
lulz.. and so it begins.. #WaitForVolta.. except of course, NV has already said no (gaming) Volta until at least 2018
So I guess should be #WaitForVolta2018!!
Nice try.. but failed..
Those are the Limited Editions sold as part of the Pack... since day one it was announced those would only be available as part of the bundle/packs.
Black (Reference) = $499.99 (stand alone)

using similar "logic"
You can buy freesync monitors for less than $60 NEW.... but a GSync can cost 10X AS MUCH OMGARD!!!
/boogle
Edit. NVM I see several others have addressed it..
the only 2 things nForce had going for it was dual channel and it's sound. They relied heavily on 3rd party IP for both, and actually in part why Aureal (who developed SoundStorm) eventually collapsed, similar to 3dFX litigation.
It's like people don't know what the S in MSRP stands for "Manufacturers SUGGESTED Retails Price"
AMD can say, "MSRP = $99.99", however retailers can turn around and sell said item for $5.00 or $500.00..(unless signed into an exclusive contract to which they signed and agreement to sell within...
[H] own review shows FE barely maintain anything over 1700 .. nevermind 1800/2Ghz
https://www.hardocp.com/article/2016/05/17/nvidia_geforce_gtx_1080_founders_edition_review/5
"The clock speed seems to average out to around 1770MHz (1.77GHz) according to the table. If you look at the graph the...
someone pointed out elsewhere regarding the MSI Gaming X used:
Stock 1080 is 1607/1733 base/boost, 1708/1847 in OC mode.
that 1080 Gaming X is overclocked @ 1924mhz almost a 20% overclock for 1080..
1080 stocks come in around 19K-20K...
ahh more BS from nTardiacs again..gone from 30-40W more to now "double"
lol yeah ok.. nearly 400+w for 1080 perf.. lay off the green chapstick and turn in your kneepads..
From what I was told (by person with vega in hand) that the numbers AMD presented (using Vega 64 Air) did NOT have DSBR present in the drivers, ie the numbers presented do NOT contain DSBR enhancements, (outside of the Pro suite, running s different fork). The only numbers with DSBR are the...
$1800.00 hardly.. I mean yeah if you are buying TWO of them at full MSRP...

Doubtful as Alienware was showing off a triple Vega FX Crossfire system..
Bad formatting on my part, maybe should have done 2 posts/replies.. the Drumph was in repsonse to having to buy all items in the pack , for example to get the Aqua (Vega 64 WC @ $699) would need to purchase the vega @ $699 + the Monitor + the CPU + the MoBo.
If you visit...
Thank you Kyle & HardOCP, nice to see additional info about Nano as well as launch day stock and revised power numbers.. not looking so bad as some would have us believe ("twice the power of 1080 for less performance")..
the AMD "mining" cards will prove very fascinating in the next couple of months.. considering AMD is much more flexible with Crossfire (over PCIe).. no need to have display output at all and can mix/match within same family..
