Did anyone get the extended warranty for their 3007 and where from? Does Dell sell it?
My 3007WFP will be out of warranty in 6 months. I love it but I don't trust it one bit. Here's why: got the original, terrible bleed in two corners, Dell sent replacement, DOA, Dell sent another, was fine...
Which 22'' would you pick from the pack? I know they're all 6 bit TNs and that LG and Samsung suffer from backlight bleed on top and bottom (not sure about the Acer). Prices are $230 for LG, $200 for Samsung and $170 for Acer (not sure I'll be able to grab the Acer, likely sold out). Personally...
Hi,
I'm about to build a new system for me. I'm thinking about the Q6600. What motherboard should I get? I don't care about SLI/Crossfire right now but that may change. What overclocks/underclocks (that machine will be underclocked later in its life) better? Should I get DDR2 or DDR3 (still...
Hi,
I'm looking for a 17''-20'' LED backlight monitor. Widescreen is preferable. What are my options? SIPS is also better.
No, I'm not replacing the 3007WFP.
Thanks.
Hi,
I have a dark patch on my Dell 3007WFP:
It will stay there for hours (these things become more uniform when they heat up - 10, 15 min but this stays there). I run the monitor on very low brightness (basement with low light). If I increase the brightness, the dark patch goes away...
Is anybody else's power button acting up on 3007s? Mine sometimes works and others doesn't (doesn't work at all right now actually). The monitor is perfectly fine otherwise. I'm afraid to turn it off as I might not be able to turn it on again.
I know this will make no sense but does the...
I have a Mac Pro with 4 GB RAM. When I boot XP it only sees 2 GB (OS X sees the full 4 GB). I know it's a 32 bit OS and all that but MS claims it supports up to 4 GB. XP sees 3 GB for some people on the same machine as mine. I tried /PAE switch in boot.ini but it didn't do anything. Any wisdom...
See here. Plethora of ports, including HDMI, DisplayPort and dual DVI-D (of course, D-SUB and RCA are just a waste of time). But no mention whether it's still S-IPS (I certainly hope so) or maybe has LED backlighting (that would make it just awesome).
I see none on eBay. Accelero now stupidly dumps heat in the case (what were they thinking - yeah, let's dump 170W onto the motherboard, good idea!) with the X2 model so that's out of the question. As far as I know, there are no quiet/good coolers for the x1900 series that dump the heat outside...
I am trying to decide which Xeon 5000 to buy (2.0 or 2.66). I am not sure what future processors will the platform see. A roadmap by Intel says there'll be a Peryn (45nm) derivative for socket 771 (5000 chipset) at the end of 2007. Can anyone confirm that? I can't find any useful info what...
Did anyone do any benchmarks of one of the 8800 versus CPU speed? All I see are Conroes at 3.0+ GHz and I don't have that. It'd be interesting to see how it behaves on slower (like 2.0 GHz Conroe or 2.4 GHz Athlon64s) versus faster CPUs and in real games, not 3Dmark.
Check this thread out:

robby818 claims that A03 doesn't have the uniformity problem (right side brighter than left). Can anyone confirm this?
Got my 3007WFP and being the obsessive maniac that I am, I started taking lag shots immediately. Some show no lag at all:
And these two are the worst ones from about fifty shots (21 ms & 24 ms):
The monitor has no perceptible lag to me (I thought 2405FPW was lagging just as soon as...
This was probably beaten to death but still, the only two choices I see are the x1600 Pro and the 7800GS. The 7800GS is such rip-off, it's out of the question (I'd pay that much for a 7900GT AGP but nobody knows when they'll show up). Did I miss anything?
P.S. I am not upgrading to PCI-E mobo.
After the fiasco with the input lag of 2405 I am very wary of the 3007. I found some (decent review but a bad translation) references to ghosting (blurring) issues with it. I wasn't bothered with blurring on the 2405 though (???), just the input lag.

Got a quote from Dell at $1800 CDN shipped with 3 yr warranty (~$1600 US). It was on sale not too long ago for $1600 CDN which makes me think they can go lower still. It's a lot of money either way so I'm quite uneasy (no, it's not my life savings but still). These guys liked it less than the...
I know I'm beating a dead horse here but I had to take some shots before I return the monitor tomorrow. Here they are:
I took about a hundred shots. The lag is around 35 ms mostly but it goes up to 51 ms as shown and as low as 25 ms.
So 2007WFP is banding badly but the 3007WFP is OK?
