its an awesome PC, i love it. of course i have shockwave flash crashing issues on windows 10, but thats nothing to do with the PC. I have tried the usually fixes everyone talks about. still crashes every once in a while.
I suppose i could put my old 4GB x 2 sticks back in also, to make a total of 24GB. If the new ram doesnt run any faster anyway.. not that I need 24GB.. but it sounds cool anyway.
So I definitely knew what I was getting into buying a pre-made PC. I have built my own for the last 15 years, and I just wanted a nice set this time with no hassle. I got it, and this is an incredible PC.
But I think I can see a drawback to this type of thing, I found out my motherboard bios...
i was disappointed in the fact that my 840 PRO wasnt any faster than my old 830, but still glad I got the deal on it. I also made sure my SATA cables are 6GB rated and also in the proper ports in my MB. The chipset controlled SATA3.
after enabling "rapid" on my Samsung Magician software, my average reads went up 60MB. Now they are 360MB/s or so. so the Samsung has 100 MB/s more average read than your Corsair above. Which is more important than burst for sure.
i just bought a 840PRO 512GB yesterday for $369. I don't know how old this thread is. I went to Frys which was $459, and then I price matched it to Amazon. The disk is sweet. Although... my 830 256GB series it is paired with is faster. I just installed a fresh bought windows 8.1 on the 840...
Moved the Intel SSD to the wifes G75 gaming laptop, and took the other matching samsung 830 for my own. was going to raid them but decided against it. its fast enough for now.
Samsung 830 256GB vs Intel 530 240GB
I was disappointed that the Intel was a lot slower, i guess i didnt research enough first. Always Samsung from now on.
Disk indexing is off on both C and D, dont know anything else to improve it. I AM running in that AHCI mode.
The Intel even dropped to...
some times i want to now sell my 13" airbook and buy a 13" pro instead. but my favorite thing about the air is the weight. tough call.. is the screen any higher quality on the pro? or the same?
i had a macbook air 11. then i sold it for a air 13 because it was so nice i wanted more screen size.
2 weeks ago i bought the wife a imac 21.5". it is killer, except for the slow disk. So I did an SSD upgrade on it last weekend as a secondary drive. Now its as fast as my air stuff, but a lot...
the online part definitely still sucks.
racing beside people, they slam into a wall or car. then 2 seconds later theyre full speed beside you again. its useless for any legitmately fun racing.
i played and finished the run. i enjoyed it, and i love car games.
i wanted to sell it now, i have the best buy copy. but i remember activating it. is it true i can't sell it now, since i activated it? I don't want to rip anyone off, but i'm done with the game.
the search sucks here too.. cuz nothing came up with "serious" in the title when i tried to find a thread.
and it still doesnt come up right now.. even for my own thread.
GREAT game for PC. First few levels are kinda dull and slow. Then at level 4-5 it really gets killer with hundreds of enemy swarms. Great for non-thinking blow it up fun. Graphics are nothing special, but thats not what this game is about. Really well designed, saves and exits in like 1 second...
