LOL you cant tell if its unlocked or not by looking at it. Chances are if its an es then it will have an unlocked multi, the only thing is whats the speed and stock multi, if its as low as it goes it will have an umlocked multi but you wont have any options but the stocker, now if its a higher...
Man I just picked up a Video card, wish I seen this a couple days ago, if you have any refs or feedback then I might be interested if its still available. PM me with your refs or feedback. Thanks
Title says it all. Up for grabs is my Pentium D 920. Pretty darn good chip, I was able to max it out at just over 5.0 ghz here daily use was at 4.2ghz at 1.4vcore, this chip will run on stock voltage up to 3.8ghz and runs nice and cool under my TDX water block. The lap job is about as good as...
Yes thats how I did it, then I ran it single channel on 1 and 2 and then 3 and 4 and had no problems after that. I dont know what the deal was but I had to do it with both boards, after that it worked fine in dual or single channel, heck it would even work with both kinds of ram in dual channel...
I had this same problem with every ram I put in my P5WD2 Premium and E premium except my mushkin, there is a simple fix, run one stick in each slot, just one stuck, when it boots put the stick in the next slot and so on, Ive had to do this with corsair, XMS2 and kingston, the board would not...

Up for grabs I have.
1. 1gig 2X512 Mushkin EM DDR2 533mhz, timings 3-2-2-8 stock @ 1.8v, capable of 600mhz+ with 3-2-2-6-8 with 2.1-2.2 Vdimm, can reach in upwards of...
Unless you have an ES chip you will not be able to "unlock" the multi, the multi is lazer cut and there is no way around it, however if the chip has speedstep, and you have a board that can manipulate the chip you can run the chip with a 14X multi just by setting the speedstep option to minimum...
Well the CPU has no moving parts so the only thing you should hear from it would be a pop if it fried, sounds to me like a hard drive chattering, or a wore out fan bearing.
HUH, are you kidding? its easier then writing those 2 post's, here is the search results for conroe related topics, Im sure theres plenty of info in there. :D
Anywys the only board on the market that supports the Core 2 Duo (conroe) is the intel 975XBX revision 304...
Hmm, Im confused, 1 mod says a 2.4c ES is ok but another(the Hummer dude) says No ES at all, hmm.
I didnt mean to crap on your thread either so sorry, and heres another bump!! Good luck. :D
BTW the C1 stepping of 9XX's will have the code starting with SL95 instead of the B1's SL94, so if you see umm... a SL95Q then that would be a 940 3.2 with the C1 stepping.
Sheesh do people read anymore??
Anyways, at first it sounds to me like a cmos or bios issue, did you clear CMOS before starting with the new CPU? If so, did you inpect the board for any burns? How about the CPU bottom? Any cracked caps? Could be a number of reasons, if you could test it out...
Ive seen a couple C1's come from overseas, one of which was an ES 950 but I dought youll get one in the states for a while. Ive been holding out till people start getting the C1's but I still might pickup a B1 950.
Download a program called thottle watch which can be found here Then run it during your prime test and see if the CPU throttles, because if those temps are true then that CPU is throttling as its limit is like 68c.
Also you might want to check on the voltage, it should be in the 1.2's usualy...
Have 2 questions.
1st. Why are you selling it in the first place, and why would you send it back to Newegg, is there something wrong with it?? Please clearify
2nd. How many times are you going to list the same thing? Or do you have 2 of the same card?
