I could pick up a used H270 mobo and a new power supply and move everything into a new case. Drop my 3060 ti in and a faster SSD. 1440 display. I think the 7700 and 3060 ti can co-exist reasonably well at that resolution. And then just get a new video card for my 5900x system. These 6950 XT...
I've had the rig in my signature for a few years now. Still running fine although the frequent increase in temp/AIO fan speed noise is somewhat annoying. From what I've read that typical of the Vermeer chips. I wonder if the new Intel stuff does the same. I prefer things to be as quiet as...
Got the white C64C, 1541, 1802 monitor for Christmas 1986. Bard's Tale was the first game I finished on it. I was 14 years old. Man, things were a lot simpler back then.
I bought FF7 on release day for the PS1 back in 1997. Had a lot of hours in the game and my memory card died. Progress lost and I didn't have it in me at the time to start over. So now we have the Remake. Played the demo, bought the game, and just did the free upgrade to the PS5 version.
I was...
I did see the good news this past week about AMD supposedly fixing the issue with a forthcoming AGESA update. I still haven't built my new rig yet. With this recent Microsoft Exchange zero-day issue, I've worked a lot of extra hours the last ten days and have just been out of gas when I'm not...
Why would you guess that? I never mentioned PCIe 4.0 and it was not a major deciding factor in my purchasing decision. Intel will get there.
Yeah, that would be ideal. But not realistic. Storage, RAM, video card coming over from my 3700x box that I need for remote work. And days off are all but...
I played it at 1440 with everything cranked on my 2070 S and it was fine. I love this game. A lot of people shit on the gameplay but the graphics, story, music, sound....it all comes together really well.
My return window for my MSI MEG Unify X570 board ended today. I arranged my work schedule so I could make the 35 minute drive to Micro Center. And I didn't go. Going to keep what I have and deal with any issues that arise (if any). Hoping the snag an RX6800 and/or 3080 soon so I can lock this...
Greetings, [H].
I know there's probably not a right or wrong answer here but seeking some input nonetheless.
I have a MSI X570 Unify and a Ryzen 9 5900x. Haven't opened them and can return/exchange both at Micro Center. Motherboard needs to be done by Tuesday because their return policy is 15...
Still all the 5xxx CPUs available at the Cincinnati, OH Micro Center. I was able to get a 5900X yesterday. I have a 3700X so maybe not a huge increase in performance but I'm pretty excited about it anyway.
I've seen people claim they've completed their step-up after 3 or more months in the queue. I queued first week of January so I'm hoping to step up from my 3060 ti to a 3080 in April/May. Who knows though. I'm fortunate to live within an hour of two Micro Center's and they get 3xxx stock in...
Nice job, [H] community with the troubleshooting assist. I was going to ask the OP his proximity to the Bermuda Triangle or a Native American burial ground. Probably not helpful but it looked like we were running out of options. Glad the issue was resolved.
I'd go FE so I could comfortably build in the Cooler Master NR200. I know the EVGA fits but it's tight and the fan arrangement on the FE is a better match. And I love that case so all this is all IMHO.
One. Cyberpunk. Not because I was bitter or angry about it's release state. Just decided I would buy it when/if I ever get my EVGA 3080 step-up. I still have the Witcher 3 in my backlog. PLENTY to keep me busy.
EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra up to $879 from $809. My step up cost breakdown still shows $809 though. Frankly if they bump me up to $879 I better get like 3.5 FTWs or I'm calling someone at the Pentagon.
I've been using a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 as my daily driver for longer than I can remember. I bought a couple years ago at Walmart when they were on clearance for $15. My last one is still working but is disgusting. It has survived numerous bouts of rage but will ultimately get retired...
Appreciate the thread. I refunded. Will re-buy when I step-up to a 3080 in a few months. I imagine the game will be in a much better state by then. Not sure how prevalent the corrupt save game file issue was but that's a deal breaker for me. It's so rare that I get time to game anymore that...
I bought it on that same deal yesterday. Installed and ran through the somewhat lengthy-ish intro stuff and ran around a few minutes before I called it a night. Installing a new monitor and video card today and am looking forward to spending more time with it. It ran at a pretty solid 60FPS on...
Local Micro Center showed 3070s and 3080s in stock Saturday morning. I threw my unopened 3060 ti and receipt in the car and made the 40 minute drive. Figured I would return what I had and get what I actually wanted. When I got there, people were queued up like it was fucking Disney World and it...
I got to Micro Center 30 minutes before they opened this morning. They had 35-40 cards...3060s, 3070s, and some 6900XTs. Big group already lined up. I ended up with an EVGA 3060 ti. The 2070S has to go.
I was at Micro Center yesterday mid-afternoon returning a few items I'd picked up last weekend. They had the MSI Gaming Trio and I was tempted. A little bump over my 2070S which I could have probably sold making it a cheap "upgrade". But I've been doing this so long....just didn't have it in me...
I sold my 6700k/1080 rig to a close friend a few months ago to drive his VR rig.
I replaced that with 6600/1050ti Dell Optiplex. I also had a PS4 Pro, and XB1 X, and a Switch patched into a 65" Samsung 4k HDR set with VRR.
A few weeks ago, all of those things were cooked during a nasty storm...
