Make sure port 53 isn't being blocked on your firewall for some reason (this is commonly the port for DNS). And what are your DNS settings? Are you getting them from your ISP or do you have your own server set up?

The .box files DO matter, they are the majority of the OS. Just burn the three files onto a dvd as a data disc instead of .iso and if you need to reinstall the OS before your DVD comes in the mail then copy those files back over to your desktop and run 'em again.

No problem, all he needs to do is purchase a wireless router which his service provider might even be able to give him. His laptop (if it's anywhere somewhat new) should have a wireless NIC already built into it so he would be able to connect to his router and go from there.

There will just be one admin account that we all use, that being "administrator" on the local machine. My own specific login will only have user rights along with everyone else. So if I were to log in as myself I would only be a "user", but I can log in as administrator and do what I need to do...

At my place of work we are currently migrating all of our users from a workgroup over to a domain environment. When in the workgroup environment all users had administrative rights on their computers where as in the new domain everyone will just have user rights, INCLUDING us (the sys admins)...
