Achievements are a nice concept but I'm afraid they are increasingly becoming the lazy way out of game development, as has been noted. Why make three hours worth of content when you can offer an achievement that requires you to do some inane task for nine hours? Three times the gameplay at...
My criticism that you can simply run past the zombies has to due with the fact that RE5 attempts to be a third person shooter. Considering the zombies with guns and the crude cover system I think it's pretty apparent as to what they were aiming for with the game design. If the game was...
Of the current systems, the 360 is by far the best IMO. Most games are available for both the PS3 and 360, so the exclusives are what really make the system. The 360 has more in the way of good exclusives. I have yet to be impressed by the PS3 game library, it seems extremely lacking. The...
I do not find mediocre games fun solely because they have co-op. I'd rather just play a good game. Co-op is seemingly becoming the new Wiimote, a gimmick selling point that developers hope will distract people from the fact that the games they are developing are extremely lacking. This is not...
The hype machine strikes again. I seriously cannot believe this game is getting such a good reception for what amounts to an average, at the very best, game. It would be in the bargain bin in no time if it didn't have the Resident Evil name attached to it, not getting 9/10 reviews.
The...
All you need to know is that FFXI is a fucking horrible game and there is no reason to play it. You would be much better off with a doll house and some barbies.
XBL has been having problems with various issues, including recovering gamer tags, since Christmas. I am unsure if it has been fixed yet but it doesn't sound like it has.
TF2, Portal, and HL2:Ep2 could easily be on the list as one entry as I'm assuming just about everyone buys them bundled together and they were all released brand new at the same time whereas other collections that have been mentioned focus heavily on old content.
Regardless of the level of support, QA testing, etc. someone, somewhere is going to be shipped a dead replacement <whatever>. Yes it sucks and it's rare, but shit happens.

I think a safe estimate is 750k sales (not all data is included, so I estimated based on previous trends). Lair, on the other hand, is at about 250k sales.
I'm sure it has something to with them not wanting you to just cancel on a whim. Maybe you're pissed off about something and go online to quickly cancel your account. If you're forced to call a number it will give some time for the to cool off and reconsider whether you really want to cancel XBL.
Why would anyone be glad there are exclusive games? Do you not like having choices? You have to spend an extra few hundred dollars on a second console that largely does the exact same thing as the first only to play a handful of extra games, why not just play it all on one system? There is no...
It used to work that way back in the CS days, long ago. There were workarounds developed for it too, like a cheat that would automatically turn its features off for a short duration when PB requested a SS. Maybe if it was coded properly this could be preventable... maybe. The aimbots I have...
There is, unfortunately, no replacement for active server admins. PB is a nice concept but it's just a complete piece of shit. Every game that is "protected" by PB that I've played has had cheaters in it. If VAC was updated more regularly I think it would be more effective.
The single player was alright but the MP is substantially better. I also disliked the respawning enemies but I didn't mind the respawning teammates too much as I would hate to have to rely on them only for them to do stupid things and get mowed down. The story was pretty awful but I guess that...
Your idea of very easy and the average consumer's idea of very easy are two completely different things. For most people, anything beyond plugging in a few cables is entirely too confusing. For some people, even THAT is too confusing.
This will never be the case. If anything is going to be upgradeable, it won't be much beyond the hard drive and maybe memory. Consoles have always been designed to be easy to use and replacing a CPU, video card, memory, etc. is well beyond what most people would feel comfortable doing.
Different media player functionality, one might do anti-aliasing better, online capability... basically all the differences there are now could be on two systems with the same games.
I can't believe some people put so much importance on easy to obtain ranks. You people would have probably died of a heart attack stressing over trying to rank up in the old school WoW PVP system.
In general it's a a somewhat common occurrence as there were many complaints on this forum and others about people feeling sick while playing HL2 around the time it was released.
Yes, during part of HL2 I felt like vomiting. It only happened during one run through of the game (my first). It seems to be a somewhat common occurrence.
You obviously never played the expansion or never got into WoW beyond leveling up. TBC and the patch leading up to it changed WoW substantially. It made more specs more viable and wanted for various situations (such as shadow priests and feral druids), placed increased importance on personal...
If you can take the place of 4-5 of your teammates and do well it means two things, that your team is awful and that the other team has some awful players. If the same situation presents itself in TF2 you will still be able to carry the team, maybe not quite as much, but you will still be able...
Oh? Why not? A MMO based on a large scale war could be created and it could have no grind, you just get into the battle and fight the opposing side. MMO really means nothing beyond a persistent world occupied by a large number of players.
Correct, there are really no PS3 exclusive games worth buying right now, which is probably why it's not taking off in sales like the PS2 did. However, there is some hope for good games in 2008. MGS4 and FF13 come to mind, neither of which will have multiplayer. Turok is cross-platform. Most...
