Haha... Rage's problems have been blown way out of proportion. I just installed the game at a friends, he got a 580 GTX, there were NO problems. Sure, 8k textures are nice, but the game looked great by default, and his performance were insane... No texture problems.
The issue I had with texture...
I was looking forward to BF3 until I tried the beta, man, it just sucked so bad. I'm at a loss for words... Even BC2 plays better, this felt just as arcadey and uninspired as COD MP. Not what I was expecting at all, certainly didn't give me the feeling that this was a Battlefield game.
After I moved my computer from one spot in the house to another I've had no problems, rock solid. The only things that changed with this move is that I'm no longer using the onboard soundcard, and I'm not using the HDMI port on my graphics card. So for now I'm blaming one of those two things...
The title of the article is confusing, as I see it, very few games are amazing these days, but they could have been, and that's what's disappointing.
I'm currently playing Dead Island, this game could be so much better if a bunch of small additions were introduced. For instance, most objects...
I'm researching components for a budget computer I will be building and selling through my firm, the model will be aimed at budget gamers. And for consumers interested in getting into pc gaming going from consoles. It's just amazing the performance and quality you can get on a budget these days...
I haven't tried increasing the clock yet.
As for clean install of drivers, this problem started out of the blue after having no issues, for a long time. I didn't change the driver. But I have now tried a clean install of the latest drivers and it didn't change anything.
Also, consider the fact...
About the PSU, I said it's gotten good reviews, and that it was certainly not the best money can buy. Don't see quite how that's "making it out to be a high grade unit", but whatever. As you say, it looks to be ok? Good enough to operate without causing the issues I'm having. I was fairly...
About the PSU, I answered earlier, but it's a local brand, here in Norway, it's called Mist, it's 650w, I wrote 600 earlier but that's wrong. It's certainly not the best money can buy, but it has gotten good reviews. Japanese capacitors.

Now the freeze have happened 3 times outside of games as well. Very random apparently.
I'm doing different things every time.
To describe how it locks up: Image is frozen, mouse cursor frozen or gone, sound usually goes on for some seconds after the freeze, I can turn num lock and that sort...
I don't use standby or sleep, no.
My other specs: i5 760, no OC. 8GB Mushkin.
Windows 7 64bit.
BTW: My graphics card is 6970. Not 6870, my bad.
Going to upgrade to latest Catalyst and see if that helps. Going to check for bios updates.
Clock speed on this card is 880 mhz, but does...
Right now I'm on Catalyst 11.4. Mobo is Asus P7P55D.
PSU is probably unknown to you, it's called Mist and is a local brand, but they've gotten good reviews and all that, it's a 600w. From all tests I've read it's supposed to hold up. I'm going to replace it with something like a 700 or 800w...
Whenever I start a game, 9 times out of 10 it will freeze during the first few minutes of play. Picture locks, and sound often loops. Everything is locked up and I have to do a hard shut down.
This just started happening out of the blue one day, after months of everything being fine...
I'm enjoying the game. I don't have any graphical problems and it looks fine. Quite good at times, actually.
As for weapons selection, once you've gained enough levels you can have what, 8 weapons selected at a time, and you just switch between them using the wheel.
Haha, yeah, let's just release all games unfinished because they can always be patched. That's obviously the mentality you're on. Good for you, since that's becoming more of a rule than exception.
You have no use for extra storage because the game you're playing or how you're playing doesn't warrant it. If you played SWG as an architect you'd definitely need storage. You have to see beyond the mechanics of WoW or whatever other trite game your playing. There's an endless possibility of...
Doesn't even just using your house as a storage space create a bit more immersion? I remember it was kinda cool seeing all our resources stacked in our guild hall in SWG.
It's not like there's a plethora of GOOD zombie games around. There's a lot of WW2 games as well, but very few good ones, IMO. That's why we always need more.
Housing even without merchant mechanisms are not worthless. Housing represents more than just a display of your collected game items. Many players enjoy MMOs for the social interaction part, duh, and housing helps sell that. MMOs should start being developed more with immersion in mind, like...
Fuck I need this game... can't come soon enough.
BUT, I'm not that happy about the interface/inventory, class tree shit, looks a bit console-ish to me, I'd prefer less spacing, more information on screen at once. Also, inventory/items, I prefer to see my character and drag equipment to slots and...
I don't care what data Steam or Origin collects as long as it does not affect my privacy. It's not like they post my data together with my name anywhere public, anyway. And the data they collect is harmless. Your IP address? Hardware, operating system, which games you play, how long you've...
