BEHOLD! Original G5 and a 15$ keyboard. After spilling a coke in my last 15$ keyboard I don't think I could stomach buying pretty much anything in this thread... Also, I want to get a new mouse but this G5 refuses to die.

Nvidia GTS 250 1gb... still running it since right around the time it was released a few years ago. Don't plan to upgrade for a while.

I like being able to replace the batteries in my devices, having had 3 batteries in my laptop and two in my droid incredible. However, I have both the asus transformer prime and the LG G2 which lack removable batteries... the hardware outweighed the desire for the removable battery.

I've replaced the battery in my ipod video a couple times, I just bought some battery off amazon it and works great.

I checked again and I guess it's not as old as I thought, bought it early 2009. Antec Earthwatts 500. Yeah I figured that most people just ended up cycling through hardware often enough to not have to worry about actively replacing their psu due to age.

Is there a good rule of thumb for when to replace a power supply? Or do most people just run theirs until it dies? I replaced my first PSU because it failed to run after 2 years, but I've had my second one in this system for about six years now I think. This one appears to be running just fine...

I just got my hands on a late 2008 metal unibody Macbook (NOT pro) with 2 ghz C2d and 2 gigs of ram. I know that the apple website says I can update all the way to Mavericks, but do you think that will significantly decrease the performance of the laptop compared to let's say snow leopard?

If you're going to be spending quite a bit of time looking at the screen I would definitely try to go for something with a larger screen or with a phone that someone says is easy on the eyes. If I spent too long looking at the screen on my droid incredible I would literally have trouble...

Honestly I'm not sure that wifi strength is an issue. My tablet actually got higher scores on a speedtest on several occasions than my laptop or phone connected to wifi. Whenever I'm on campus I never have wifi reception problems, which I think would be the place most likely to have issues...

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Leaving it in a bag can put more weight on a screen than your cat. When I got my tablet I treated it like china as well but they're quite tough!

Up until this point I thought that braiding cables actually made them less susceptible to tangling... My G5 has never tangled and my girlfriend got headphones last year that are supposedly anti tangle and they were braided as well...

I use an inkjet all the time for college, seems to work just fine. If you're not printing that often it would probably make sense to buy a cheaper printer, which usually means you're going to want an inkjet.
