I'm sorry, It's 64 bit Win 7 Pro. Can't really narrow it down as to why I am set on the Sabertooth. I love ASUS boards though, so I know whatever MB I go with will be an ASUS. As far as the dual 30's, that'll be sometime down the road. Not a huge thing now. I just want a rig that I can play...
No budget. Not a billion dollars, but 1-2 grand is fine. A little more if needed. Tax and tags are expected.
I live in NJ. Central. Micro Center is 30 minutes away.
I'd like to OC, but not out of realm.
24" monitor as of now, but want dual 30's.
I'm kinda dead set on the z77...
Oh, and I do have a lot of HD's I'd like to utilize. I have a SanDisk Hyper3 128GB SSD as a primary, an 80GB Cuda, 2 - 320 Cuda's and a 2 TB Cuda, all SATA. While I don't need all of those drives in the tower, it would be nice to have being I have a ton of stuff spread across them. If needed...
So I'm looking to build something around a Z77 Sabertooth. The last rig I built was...
Thermaltake Armour Series full tower
ASUS P5WDH Deluxe
Q6600 GO stepping
Corsair XMS2 4GB RAM DDR2 800
EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB GPU
X-FI Fatal1ty Pro 7.1 sound card
OCZ 850W PSU
LiteOn DVD...
Thank you for the input. Notes are taken. Now I give you 1,500.00. What would you build off of what I'm looking for? Again, the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821 is the MB to build off of.
Thanks for the replies. The case I have now is huge. Looking for a smaller case. Something to maybe fit 2 ROM's in. I don't care for the "Bling" factor of the case.
Which is the better proc, Ivy or Sandy? I might plan on running 1 VM so I can VPN into work when needed.
Being I've...
Wondering if you guys could point me into the correct direction around a decent build on the Sabertooth board.
My current system is
-ASUS P5W DH Deluxe MB
-Q6600
-Corsair XMS RAM (4GB)
-OCZ 850W PS
-GTX 260 GPU
-Thermaltake Armour 11 bay case
-Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme CPU cooler
I...
It really is. Took me all of about an hour and a half from taking it apart to assembling it. I baked it at 385*F for 6:30 mins. Used AS5 on the GPU and top chip, and Ceramique on the RAM. Even runs cooler too because the factory thermal pads on my 8800 sucked.
I just got done bring my 640MB 8800 GTS back to life. AS5 on the GPU, and Ceramique on the RAM. Now to see how long she'll hold. I tell ya though, the temps have decreased A LOT with the new thermal paste.
I have a 6th Ave near me and have dealt with them on a few occasions. IMO they are shady, but then again they are one of the only retail places where they "Allow" haggleing. On 2 occasions, they didnt have the product that I was after in stock, and instead of letting me leave they worked with...
It might replace my G5. Almost bought the other mouse they had early this morning but decided not to. Server is finally back up for me, now I want my BoC!
Well, they did have a ton of em but wouldnt sell me more than one. I did manage to get the Thermalright 120 Extreme and a S-FLEX fan which was a nice suprise. They are SLACR's which is a bonus.
My P5W DH has an option in the BIOS to automatically OC by %'s. My MB did scale down my RAM though from PC-6400 to PC-5300 on its own. I can go in and change it, and its timings manually in the BIOS if I wanted to.
I was originally looking at the 7700, but like the look and clearance/configuration of the 9500/9700 better. So the temps Im at now seem to be OK for stock?
I'll preface this post with the fact I am totaly new to building and OCing PC's. I took [H]'s advice and built my first PC back in Feb of 07. Thing runs like a champ and I now feel it's time to begin my schooling in OCing. I apologize in advance for the long post and pics.
Here's the...
I have the first set of fans you posted. I bought them from CompUSA right before they went out. I used these to replace the fans in my TT VA8000 case and I noticed a drop of about 5C on my P5W. They arent loud IMO and were well worth the price. I use Speedfan to control them and and very...
Like everyone said, nothing great. I bought 2 120MM Aero Cool fans and a round ATA cable. Paid 11.99 for the fans and 7.99 for the cable. I was down in the area anyways despite the fact I live in North NJ and the only NJ store was the Mt Laurel one. I really wanted a Blue Ice Northbridge...
Thanks, OP. I went to the OD in East Brunswick, NJ only to have the Manager tell me they don't accept CC coupons because they do not sell office supplies which doesn''t make them competition.
I then left to go to CC a mile down the road and before I could ask, the kid told me I was the 7th...
I just got back about an hour ago from picking one up. I checked all of the local stores online and none showed they had this one in stock. I called the Holmdel NJ store and the guy said he had a few but couldnt hold one. When I got there I saw they had 8 or so on the top shelf. $215.00 for...
For what you want it to do, a E6600 should suffice, as well as a 8800GTS 640MB version. That should shave off 850.00 or so dollars.
EDIT - And from my shoes, while Vista is nice, XP is still current and has less issues (Or so I see it so I stayed with XP). Thats saves another 100 or so.
I just built a system with that case. Its HUGE! Weighs somewhere in the ballpark of 42 pounds empty. I have a P5W DH Deluxe in it. Only real issue Im having with it is the 120mm fans only spin at 1800RPM max. Other than that, its a pretty sharp case.
Hmm, after looking at this again I think I know the problem, but not too sure. The MoBo has a 3 pin hook up for the fans. Theres 4 in total. The fans that came in my case have the connector to fit the MoBo hook up, but theres only 1 wire (Yellow), and only 2 fans have that lead. The black...
I just finished building my first PC the other night. All in all it took me about 10 hours over 2 nights. It seemed intimidating at first, but the hardest thing (IMO) is the instructions that come with the components. They read like Greek instructions and made no sense to me at times. I...
So whats an optimal temp for the "System"? I have a 120MM front fan, 120MM rear fan, a 90MM rear and a 90MM top fan. I didnt install the optional MB fan because it states "install only if you are using a passive cooler or a water cooler. Installing the optional fan with an active CPU cooler...
I bit the bullet and finally built my first system. Just curious what temps are good, and which arent.
Thermaltake VA8000B Case
2.4 Core2Duo
2 gig Corsair DDR-800
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe WiFi
2 320gb Barracuda 7200.10's ran RAID1
8800 GTS 640MB PCI-E
850Watt OCZ PSU
Just got done doing...
