The best way to get rid of a mod cleanly is to make an omod of it with ObMM. Then remove it with same.
One of the caves which link the sewer systems between cities:
synbios, it's still not working right. It's using my normal maps but the game's stock textures. So the textures don't match the normal maps.
This happens when you don't use ObMM to edit your BSA files for proper archive invalidation.
They're turning ultra-corporate like EA now that Oblivion has sold so well. They're starting to treat their fans and especially modders like shit -only caring about their new favorite demographic: The 12 - 16 year old Xbox gamer.
Thanks guys!
What I'm doing, very slowly, is to try to remake my MW mod, The Underground for Oblivion. There's a lot of things I need to have in place though before I can even start working on the quests. So I thought I'd start out simple and just make extensive sewer systems for those...
OK, for those of you having trouble with Fileplanet, I've got it mirrored now at elricm.com.
DOWNLOAD QTP3 from Elricm
DOWNLOAD patch 1.2 from Elricm
Also, dev_akm has updated his "TOTO" site so you can now see all your game texture options:

OK, it seems almost any graphics card with 512MB or higher, and 2GB of system RAM should be able to run this with very little slowdown. Systems with less than that can get by with using the HFT_pcb mod which purges the cell buffers of uneeded textures, causing more lengthy load times but...
The only thing tricky is if you have either my beta of QTP3 or have a previously installed mod that installs parallaxed meshes. More info in the readme.
Just wanted to show this 2MB GIF animated comparison of terrainhdrock03.dds and its normal maps:

Yep, I've released Qarl's Texture Pack III :)

The purpose of this package is to make TES IV: Oblivion look even better than when you bought it. To do this I've created new textures...
Thanks guys!
Well, currently my game is nearly unplayable it's so slow. But I'm running the latest version of QTP3, and new 4096x4096 LOD textures AND normal maps I'm working on, and my new Depth of Field mod. This latest QTP3 really like to have at least 512MB of video RAM, but some beta...
OK... Here's some news on Qarl's Texture Pack 3. As many of you know, it's currently in beta testing. But I made quite a few big changes since the beta was released, so no one but me has these yet. :) First of all, I finally relented and redid the coastal rocks and got rid of the ones with all...
I'm making great progress on my DoF mod, but it still needs a little tweaking, and of course, I have to do a number of different versions to accommodate people's specific systems, and also their preferred level of blurriness...
Here's some latest screenshots of the latest DoF, and also some...
Hi guys! I'm very close to releasing Qarl's Texture Pack 3. But I'm currently working on a lot of textures (and meshes as it happens) which the beta testers found fault with, so it may be a few days before I fix all these things...
I Also have have a couple of other projects going.
Qarl's LOD...
The conclusion drawn in the OP is flawed for one reason:
Saying that Vista isn't expensive because it costs the same as XP implies that XP isn't expensive.
CreganTu, your best bet is to go to dev_akm's The Oblivion Texture Overhaul (TOTO) site and see what your options are. For reference, I currently have a 6800GT 256MB card -but plan on getting an R600 card when they come out. :p
Khaydarin, I know of no one who's redone the interior fort...
Well, I'm basically in the same boat. I have a 6800GT 256MB PCIe card right now and it's really showing it's age with the newer games. So my options are basically the same as his:
1. Buy something cheap now that can play all the current games quite well, but most likely have poor performance...
Buying a DX9 card now, you KNOW it's time is very limited. I prefer to look forward, rather than looking back. Also, the DX10 cards that are out now can do DX9 tasks TWICE as fast as DX9 cards to boot.
I know you're paying a premium for DX10 cards at the moment, but I think you're shooting...
Thanks guys! I'm pretty much trying to do all the textures I missed in the last pack, but I'm also touching up the ones from the last pack as well -especially the normal maps. I've gotten a lot better at normal maps since then. ;)
It's taking quite a while though since there are a couple...
