I'm completing a system for my dad so he doesnt have to listen to a pentium D stock cooler.
Problem I am having is transplanting the hard drive which is SATA2 to a SATA1 board.
I have set the jumper on the drive, and was formated as IDE (vs ACHI).
Drive is visible in the bios, boot...
I just did a swap job on my 3850 from the stock cooler to a zalman vf900.
Now when I load up any 3d rendered game (cs, swat4, cod4) Theres a really hi pitch buzz/hiss coming from the card much like some laptops make.
Anyone with the same symptoms or ideas on what might of happened?
Currently using a zalman 9500 in a sonata 2, at stock speed, would temps be acceptable w a passive solution like a scythe ninja or true120? preferably that have a 120mm fan option.
Just checked creative's page to see if theres an update from that beta they release last month; searched for drivers and it reported none found. Did they finally succeed in turning our cards into paperweights?
Anyone have this already? Wanted to know if it's feasible to upgrade from a vf900 for my 3850.
So far the only retailers that I've found it from are smal ones on zalmans site. Wonder why it hasn't hit the egg yet..
Just recieved it this friday, installed and powered on my system, fans spin up but will not post, no video output period.
The specs state a min 450 watt psu required, which I'm running an Antec true power 450. Disconnected power to my drives and still couldnt get a post.
Any other...
I just upgraded from 2gb to 4gb of memory & running xp pro.
Would it be detrimental if I disable page filing? If not are there any noticeable benefits.
k.thx.bye.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a inspiron 6400 but I can't find any decent reviews regarding the graphics performance w the 256mb x1400. if anyone can offer some input it would be appreciated.
