I have some cash laying around after the holidays, and I am interested in buying a 360. I just want the 360 to play halo and CoD 4 with my buds online.
Which model should i get? I always like staying on the cheap side of things, but is there actually a benefit to getting a 120gb hd? I...
I found a dead thread from here thru google that was giving out torrent damage invites. I was wondering if anyone has an invite that they could throw my way. [myusername]@gmail.com
Thanks
ok, so lets get this thread back to its purpose; posting pictures of Mac setups.
As fun as poppy plants, cocoa plants, and pot plants are... ;)
So it seems like you want to get some gaming out of your macbook, here's what i have done...
1) Download Tremulous
It's a fun fps.
2) Acquire XP or Vista and install through bootcamp
This is perfect with your spacious hard drive. You can play all of the games you used to, as long as...
from what you say you should go for the cheaper one.
AFAIK the newer one also comes with 1gb of RAM standard. And, the 'older' one that doesn't have 802.11n also doesn't have a Core 2 Duo processor, just Core Duo.
So definitely go for the newer one.
go to the apple store. they will fix it. that's part of what you bought with your mac.
Oh, and before you take it in, back up ALL of your data. Just as a safety policy.
i have this. (except it's the 15.4 inch edition because the 13.3 version for macbooks wasn't out when i got my macbook)
I use it all the time for carrying around my macbook. It's durable and i feel safe having it in that bag. I love that i can carry papers or folders in the bag with my...
umm, i play wow (or used to play. i gave it up going into finals) on my macbook. And i only have the core duo model. Graphics are ok, not stunning, but no lag even in populated areas.
So do some hands-on research next time.
ichat allows video and chat. adium doesn't for some reason.
but skype is what you should be using for any video/audio needs. skype works on any platform, so you buddies can use it to.
I know what you want to do, but that's not what you should do.
If you keep your screen open then you have much better air flow, and you have another 15" screen!
Yeah i think i still have the information. But the company is based in KC. And your local Apple Store should have their prefered location's information ready to give to you. Apple even ships your drive to the company if you ask.;)
That exact problem happened to me a week ago. I took it to the Apple store and they said it was infact a completely bricked hd. (see my post from a few days ago)
They couldn't recover the hd in the store. They did give me the card for a data recovery place. The fee would have been a flat...
i bought my blackbook almost a year ago, soon after they were released. I LOVE IT! lol
It is the perfect machine for what you want to do. And Macbooks also have a lot of power in them if you want to run that occasional game. I run wow with reasonable settings with no lag.
i really don't...
Why doesn't any one sticky this and the post your setup thread?
So I was blessed with a broken hard drive yesterday, and I got a fresh install of os x. I've only started reloading what little i had backed up. I guess you can call me a traditionalist.
Thank you Bash.
Also, when in this tutorial the guy says,"My system's IP address in this tutorial is 192.168.0.100, and my hostname is server1.example.com." What Should i use as my hostname? Isn't that just the random name Ubuntu tells you to name the box? Or is there something specific i...
While downloading i tried the ipconfig command in the command prompt in windows. I assumed that because both my pc and what will become the server are connected to the same router, the ip would be the same for both. I got this result:
Isn't that just my local network id? Don't i want...
Thanks for the input Bash and Q.
I think tonight i will attempt to install with the 6.06LTS version of Ubuntu. I'll try to follow that tutorials intructions more carefully, and hopefully i will come back with specific questions.
If i ran a DNS server would i have to pay for domain...
Today i was trying to install Ubuntu, and i had my macbook next to me so i could follow instructions (yes I'm a linux noob) and everything froze. I tried to ctrl +fn+esc, or whatever the combo is, and nothing happened. So i held the power button until everything went off.
Then i booted up...
So I'm trying to set up a server just for random fun. I had messed around with Ubuntu a little before, so I know that it's well run and supported by a lot of people. I decided to give Ubuntu server a go.
I came across this tutorial and decided to give it a try.
I had downloaded the new...
what does it do to it?? links for installation guide? Does it work for and WRT54G?
Back on topic, I think you should spring for a Draft-n router. Of course assuming that your macbook is one of the second generation and that your hp is compatible, which is even more unlikely. Altought it...
i have this same problem too. My printer that is hooked up to my pc is a brother printer/faxer/copier/ etc. I have messed around with the setting on my macbook and actually have seen the brother recognized, but it never actually prints.
My solution was to just go click print in word or what...
my macbook has great battery life. If i have the brightness turned all the way down, which i always do on battery power, and im running just word or and internet browser i literally have 5 hours of battery life. With a couple more programs running the time would be cut down an hour or so, but...
I use digg, which is really a compilation
Macrumors,
Engadget,
Tuaw,
AppleInsider,
and MacInformant
MacInformant is actually relatively new, but I really like it. I recommend that everyone check it out and add it to your daily mix.
here's all you need to know:
The latest office for xp is 2003
" " " " os x is 2004
the features for 2004 are expectedly better. but slightly different.
when the new office iteration come out xp/vista gets '07
mac gets '08
same deal will happen with the features...
Question for all the macbook owners, excluding myself:
Is that your first mac? Or are you an experienced mac user just upgrading?
in my situation is it my first mac.
black book, i love it. I like it's size, i just wish it's case was aluminum. I just like the feeling of the aluminum case on the MBPs better.
@Nobi
Why?
im thinking that since the iPhone won't even launch for a while, Apple will incrementally improve the iPhone with more and more features. this will function in keeping the hype up.
I figure it would be cool to create a list of all the games you play on your mac. Free games are prefered, but if its worth the buy i guess you can recommend it.
my favorite game that i found on the mac is Tremulous. Its pretty fun to sit and play, nothing hardcore but the gameplay isnt too...
i got it off interfacelift. lemme upload it for you...

if its from newegg, then just bitch to them. Dont say its their fault, just be cool. Dont worry about the guy above and his "its illegal" stuff. If it were quality hardware then it would of lasted.
