The reason you can't send to aol or probably hotmail is that they're blocking your IP range.
Create an SMTP connector in System Manager and configure it to use Verizon's outbound smtp server as a smarthost. Make sure to configure authentication based on the username and password you use for...
Take a look at diffie-hellman key exchange. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diffie-Hellman
Remember those crazy math problems you did as a kid where two people would start out with a different number and follow the same steps to get an identical final answer?
Public/Private key cryptography...
Scenario - Server 2003 print server with multiple print queues for network printers. Server connects to printers via IP. Server has Internet Protocol printing support installed. Standalone and domain clients can see http://servername/printers and can install a printer.
Problem - Standalone...

Looks like the WMI service is having a problem starting.
A mac filter isn't secure, especially if you're using unencrypted wireless signals. Even wep is easily crackable in a few minutes.
A person could sniff some packets and then clone the mac on their card to gain network access.
WPA is the way to go for security.
What's the best place for private domain registration? GoDaddy wants an extra $9/year to keep private info, is that average?
With GoDaddy I'm looking at $36 for two years of private domain registration. Are their any other reputable places that are more cost effective?
I just got off the phone with Verizon. We ran multiple Speedtests with the original Actiontec installed and reset. I'm getting at most 10mb which is half of my supposed 20mb. Verizon scheduled a service call to check their problems.
Here is a tracert to speedtest.verizon.net.

I followed the instructions and now have internet connectivity directly through a Buffalo DD-WRT router. The M1424WR bridges Coax from the ONT to port 1 of the internal switch and my Buffalo router recieves an Internet routable IP. The M1424WR receives a NATed IP from the Buffalo so I can watch...
I have a Juniper Netscreen 5gt. I've used Cisco PIX, ASA, IOS Routers and just this Netscreen.
From my experience Juniper is just about the least intuitive device you could possibly use. Solid OS but a complete pain to configure.
This is the only rack console I see on TrippLite's site and it looks absolutely nothing like the Dell kmm.

The problem I've had with Nagios is getting it configured once it's up and running. Since everything is monitored through modules, it's hard to know which plugins to use for monitoring.
What do you have for an AP? I know the Cisco APs support VLANs per SSID.
Let's say SSID Employees is assigned to the internal VLAN and SSID Guest is assigned to VLAN 102.
What is doing routing on your network? If there is a single connection you don't have to worry about route maps.
As...
All equipment is plugged into a core L3 switch. All equipment uses the core switch as the default gatway so the switch needs to do routing based on subnet.
We have the Cisco Routers and PIX firewalls. Right now pretty much everything is set up using static routing.
Suppose I have five internal subnets
192.168.1.0
192.168.2.0
192.168.3.0
192.168.4.0
192.168.5.0
with two internet connections. One bonded T1 and one single T1. Both are...
The concern now isn't redundancy. Suppose all internal user traffic is required to go through bonded T1s from Sprint but all server (web server, mail server) traffic is required to go through a seperate bonded T1 from another provider.
Any ideas?
Does anyone have a link to documentation regarding the use of a routing protocol (EIGRP, OSPF) and multiple internet connections?
Suppose a person has multiple subnet/VLANs and multiple internet connections with specific subnets/VLANs requring access to the internet only via a certain...
For your CCNA you might want to just go the Boson Simulator route (...hm no pun intended).
If you plan on using the same equipment for your CCNP, try finding a couple cheap 2950 switches and a decent 3550 EMI. For the routers get whatever you can afford. I purchased 2600XM routers since they...
If you have demand-dial can you make sure the link is up before you try joining to AD?
I found this article.

I haven't used Windows Demand Dial routing but:
"[WARNING] Your default gateway is not on the same subnet as your IP
address."
doesn't sound right.
Your gateway IP needs to be within the subnet of your IP address.
Does the Catalyst 2950 24port running SI have auto-mdi/mdix?
I found a Cisco website seeming to indicate it does but I can't find an option to enable or disable it.
Anyone?
Here's the site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5013/prod_bulletin09186a00801f4bc0.html
What do you all use to aggregate server event logs? I'd like to find an open source or free product that will pull event logs from multiple servers into a single searchable database.
Their is a gigantic freakin difference between a Cisco router and a Linksys router.
Linksys != Cisco (Yes I know Cisco bought Linksys but their is a reason Linksys products cost much less than Cisco products)
Does your office have Cisco IP phones?
If not you're looking at a considerable expense.
IP Phone /w license
Router to support CME
CME w/ licenses
FXO/FXS (I forget which) to pull analog lines into the router to be shared
'or'
T1 card to pull in a voice T1
I think that's about it...
I thought QoS was based on L3 routing.
Suppose you have two Catalyst 2950 switches and no router. If everything was on one VLAN in the same subnet, how would you do QoS?
Suppose you have two hundred workstations and a ten servers. How do companies normally implement VLANs?
Would the servers be stuck on one VLAN with clients then split off into a few more to break up broadcast domains? Then I'm assuming all clients would either have to go through a core switch...
I'm having a hard time determining the proper placement of a VPN concentrator.
Suppose a company has a /30 from their ISP with a Cisco 2801 running Adv Sec as the firewall. Where would a VPN 3000 go? The only placement I can see is on the LAN side of the 2801 which would require the...
