Nicely done.
But there was a conflict of plot and characters :D
It should have been Demoman vs Engi.
Ironically, the Demoman character was used to portray a spy in the movie,
while a spy was used to portray a lawyer.
I think I already implied I was going to use "either" ASP or PHP by stating
I'll be using MS-SQL or MySQL.
But basically, like anyone who is divided amongst PHP or ASP, it's all about
the cost.
I'm trying to get MS-SQL License off a friend of mine who supposedly has
one or two of...
I can't find any, but I was wondering, if such a motherboard existed.
Since AMD's 770 and 790fx chipset motherboards support ECC memory,
I was wondering if there was a intel equivalent.
BTW, when I say "Retail" I mean non server parts.
I'm building a home server that will be a database and web server
for a business site and an online business (e-commerce) site.
I need recommendations for parts from the retail market.
I using parts from the retail market to cut costs since I don't want
to buy the more expensive server...
Question is, does Independent/Dedicated Gigabit Network adapters
perform better than integrated ones on your motherboard?
I have a Marvell integrated Gigabit adapter on my motherboard, and
some how I feel that it isn't performing as it should be.
If it does help, I was thinking of...
I am thinking about doing a RAID 1 with two 640GB drives.
It is for a web/database home server.
I was wondering, is it necessary for me to buy a independent
RAID controller? Or can I just run it off my motherboard?
I've heard the storage controllers built-in on to motherboards
are...

HOLI SHIZ!
Nice job...
Love the look of that HDD cage, damn...
LED's Aluminum fans to go with that, and that is one
sw33t arse part :D
Crazy aesthetics wise; hope it cools the HDDs well too :D
That HDD cage inside the Case will hog all the attention
if you don't make something else for the...
Which is a pretty small niche, since people who don't want to overclock
usually look for X2s ;)
But if you are gonna waste that much money for a Opty 185, might as well spend
a bit more to get the best s939 Processor possible.
(FX-60 cost like $20~30 more than opteron 185 these days)
With the heatload 2 x 8800GTX and your CPU together is gonna
put out, you would need a 3x120mm radiator to keep everything
cool and leave head room for some OC'ing.
I'm not sure what radiator AvaDirect will provide you... do you know?
Additionally, I would suggest WC if you get a good...
LOL...
Another thread about FX60 and opty, lmao.
You can actually go search and you'll find like 7 threads
that is like this thread that was written with in 2 months
Anyways, sum it up,
if you are gonna spend the money go for FX-60.
However you should consider using this...
I think I saw like 7 threads that are exactly same as this
Simply said, two options:
Best of the Best
FX-60 (will most likely give you the highest speed manageable with
a s939 cpu; but as you can clearly see, it has its cost)
Cost friendly, best cost to performance ratio
Opteron...

As the title says.
Anybody ever use this?
Sunbeamtech Theta (Software controlled Fan Controller)
Is it good as Sunbeam rheobus' ,
minimizing that whining noise when you volt them down?
x1950 PRO AGP performs on par with the PCI-E one
when you have a good setup rig.
So, 2GB of ram, ~2.8GHz CPU (single core) and a moderately good
mobo will make your system run pretty nice :D
Good enough for most if not everything the world can throw at you
at the current moment :D
Hmmmm, if I had the money to spend I would go with the FX-60...
Awh~ vanity, ain't it grand...
I got the FX-60, for vanity sakes, lol and since I am staying s939 until
AM3 comes out.
If I didn't have money to spend, from the provided option, I would go with
a X2 4400+ (if you can find one): the...
Asus did comment back in 2006 that they would also
make RD600 based boards, but I dunno if they pu**ied
out from that or not, with Intel going down motherboard
manufacturers throats and all, about supporting ATi/AMD's
chipsets  .
yup, we know :D
Sad that I had high expectations for 4x4,
but it didn't even come close :(
Still gets owned by Intel's counterparts in
performance and energy efficiency...
I say good call.
The ol' s939 X2s, especially the 4800 is good enough for any programing
out there that is available, and will be for quite some time.
So if you can resist the update syndrome
you'll last a good while until your next comp.
All you really need now is 4GB of ram and...
I agree with the member above.
With $350 you can buy a Opteron 165, thermaltake big typhoon
and a DFi LANParty motherboard (NF4), and overclock the opty 165
to around 2.6GHz.
And btw, for media oriented work dual cores significantly help.
I do some video editing and sound editing, and I...
The reason FX-60 has such a premium over the X2 4800+ is...
#1.
unlocked multi on the FX-60 that generally gives it
a better potential to Overclock
#2.
The FX line of branding value.
#3.
Best s939 out there.
Ya, I generalized too much above in my comments.
I was meant to assess all Opteron steppings, since this
thread was about LCB9E, but I started to talk about the
better steppings too. The start didn't correlate with the end
Anyways, ya, what I meant to say was that the BEST...

In general,
if you know what you are doing and have sufficient
cooling, there is not reason for your processor to
be significantly effected by overclocking :D
well what the dude said above is true too.
However, people have more and more apps running
in the background and foreground these days, and
dual-cores do help.
I multi-task, and often use multiple multimedia programs
at once, such as liquid apps (pro 7), adobe apps (premier, photoshop...
AM3 will be.
Right now, straight forward, AMD parts aren't price worthy
in comparison to its INTEL counterparts.
Only thing is that their new 65nm cores that haven't yet
been released commercially wide, will consume less power.
In my case, I'm going to stick with my s939 until AM3...
And BTW, as Zero pointed out
CCBBE and CCB1E steppings for Optys
reach 2.7~3.0GHz at their BEST
Thus, this isn't a normal curve / bell curve
in which the middle (~2.85 GHz) is the majority.
The BEST reach 2.7~3.0GHz, so others have
been left out who cannot reach those ranges and yet
may still...
lol, IMO, I don't think anyone who overclocked wisely
out lasted their CPU.
It is most likely you'll change your comp before you proc
goes dead
But any ways, I had a 4400+ X2 (s939) for a year and a half,
OC'ed @ 2.6ghz, air cooled and ran that comp for around
24/5 each week, and...
