My Gigabyte Z77X-UD4H LGA 1155 motherboard manual and Intel state that RAID should not be enabled in the BIOS on a drive with an existing installed OS. I have 2 Intel 520 series 120GB SSD. So is my only option to erase and reinstall everything on the SSD after I enable RAID in the BIOS?
I'm new to SATA. I thought it would be simple. Does it matter which SATA slots are used for a Boot drive. There are 8 on my board 4 controlled by Intel ICHR7 and the others by Marvel. Attempts to install Windows result in error message that the drive is configured as Active in the BIOS and...
Finally upgraded to LCD monitor. It is currently powered by a BFG GeForce 7900GS OC (DVI to DVI).
I don't do gaming so I'm wondering if this monitor would perform any differently with a newer card, like a GeForce 9800GT?
Thanks for your help!
I increased memory from 2GB (2 sticks of Corsair CM2X1024-6400C4DHX) to 8GB (4 sticks of Corsair TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX) in my P5WDG2 WS Professional that is running 64bit Windows Vista Ultimate SP3. MB is not over-clocked. No problems with sleep/awake with 2GB installed. Now with 8GB...
All,
I have a P5WDG2 WS Professional motherboard with a BFG GeForce 7900 GS OC installed. This mb supports PCI express. I've noticed that some of the newer GeForce cards names end with 2.0 or 2.0 v. Are these cards compatible with my old motherboard?
Thanks for any help
I increased the amount of ram from 2 to 4GB on the motherboard. Using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. With 2GB, could put it to sleep and awake. Now with 4GB, put to sleep but cannot awaken. Cause and effect or coincidence? Have not verified that re install of 2GB corrects the problem...
My ASUS P5WDG2-WS Professional motherboard has an E6600 CPU installed and it is not overclocked. This MB has a heatsink/heatpipe on the northbridge chipset. I have super-glued a 40x40x25 Sunon maglev fan (running at 5600 RPM) to the heatsink blowing air into the heatsink (before I did this...
This board has the same heatsink-heatpipe assembly installed on the Northbridge chipset as the ASUS P5B-Deluxe and the P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP motherboards.
Touching a heatsink vertical fin for more than 2-3 seconds burns my finger! Has any other user of this board noticed this. My board...
Directing airflow vertically from a fan to the top or the bottom (pcb side), which one would be most effective in cooling hard drive. In my situation, horizontal air flow (end to end) is not an option..
I have an E6600 installed in a P5WDG2 WS PRO, BIOS 0307. CPU-IZ specifies the CPU as 2.4GHz, but displays a Core speed of 1602.8 for core 1 and core 2! Multiplier is x6.0, FSB is 267.1 and Bus speed is 1068.5. Stepping is 6 and revision is B2. Voltage is 1.213. Sorry, I am a n0ob and don't...
In XP, my Audigy 2ZS uses the same I/O range but IRQ 20 and works fine. But in Vista Beta 2 (same motherboard) in device manager under General tab, Windows states there are not enough free resources available and no sound! Under Resources tab, I/O range DF00 - DF3F is not available and IRQ 4...
that it can use (Code 12). This is displayed in the Multimedia Audio Controller properties, regardless of PCI slot used (tried 'em all), and occurs with an Audigy 2ZS as well as an earlier plain Audigy sound card (model SB0090). Clicking on the resource tab causes BSOD. This is an ASUS...
Have you successfully used version 9 or 10 to backup and restore a SCSI hard drive or to copy the OS installation and contents of a smaller SCSI drive to a larger SCSI drive?
Is this cooler's performance diminished when it is installed in a horizontal orientation, e.g. a tower case? Have all evaluations of this cooler been done with the cooler installed vertically? How does the fluid flow in the heatpipes if it is installed horizontally?
The system: Asus P4C800-E Deluxe 3.2Ghz Intel Northwood (not overclocked), 1GB of Corsair DDRAM (4 modules), BFG 9800GT OC, Adaptec 29320 SCSI controller, Maxtor Atlas 15K 18GB SCSI drive, Plextor SATA CD-RW
The system (home use only) described has been in operation for over 12 months...
