How much would you say the "smudging" affects the actual readability of the text? I can certainly stand some color inaccuracies. I should mention that I also do web design, but will keep any graphic/color critical work confined to my CRT or my laptop's LCD. Thinking that sounds like a good plan...

I spoke way too soon... After about 5 hours of use, it developed the random shutoff problem. Now I am lucky to have it stay on longer than 5 minutes at a time. Has anyone figured out any sort of fix for it? If not, looks like I will have to send it back and deal with Soyo's support. Grr...

Well, it's nice to hear about the possibility of a firmware update. I will hold off on sending mine in for the whine I mentioned until we know about that. My screen also has the power button "issue" where it sometimes takes a few presses to power on.

Mine has seeminglydeveloped a whine. I presume this is the backlight? May have to go through the process of returning it, as it is driving me crazy. Anyone else having this problem? When I get my new computer next year, I will have to add this alongside my Benq. Just waiting to see tests on input lag. But considering they are using faroudja processing, I doubt it will be an issue.

I look forward to seeing tests about input lag etc. Perhaps I can keep my Benq and use a sweet dual setup. :)

Sweet. I figured something was up with the 1080p claim. Maybe that is just referring to component? As DVI will be 1080P from a computer source... May have to sell my Benq. :)

I think it does hdmi over dvi, but does not have a dedicated hdmi port.

If this thing did 1080P, I would have to consider one of these over the Benq I just purchased. DCDi rocks, and 1:1. At least someone's getting closer to getting it right...
