If you have no plan of gaming on that computer, you should invest on a workstation class card. Something like nvidia quadro or ati firepro. They will be better suited for your photography editing and video editing work.

you might try to insulate the back bracket of your card, with insulation tape so, there is no direct contact between the case and the back bracket. i am using xfi titanium sound card, and the insulation has helped a lot in removing the background static noise.

hehe! surprised to see no one mentioned it yet. 4890 has its own set of drivers which is different from 4800 series driver. you need to install driver for 4890. check amd's site for the latest driver.
