I mentioned that in the OP, it's a bit too tall/high for my liking, can't get a comfy grip with it :(
this is such a bother, why can't they make a nice mouse... there are people who modded the Kinzu with the DeathAdder 3G sensor, which should be like the perfect mouse. I wish I still had my...
hello- I'm looking for a smaller sized mouse with low lift-off distance and no angle snapping/prediction/line straightening etc and very little/no negative/positive acceleration.
I have a few requirements though - around 800-1200 dpi setting, using other than 6/11 in windows results in weird...
I had problems with my Xai and Artisan KAI.G3 Hien mousepad, the lift-off distance was way too high so I needed to lift it like 5-6 mm before it stopped reading, and I kinda tend to lean the mouse backwards when lifting it so it did move the cursor a bit upwards when lifting it... not sure if...
56"? yikes. I think the distance I have between me and my U2311H is ideal for me at least. it's probably around 60 centimeters. for TVs I guess like 250cm for 42" works great for me, since that's what I have... could been a bit bigger but I want to be able to see everything on the screen rather...
haha, 2-5 years... who knows if I even play computer games then. seems unlikely considering I'm entering university next spring. well I think my business here is done, thanks a lot for all the help
I wish SED wasn't all gone and forgotten, it seemd like a great replacement for CRT.
hmm yeah the thing isn't IPS _for_ gaming. it's just that I want an IPS that works good with gaming, because I like how much better the viewing angles and details in dark areas are with IPS. also colors look a bit better.
a CRT would not even fit on my desk, it's out of the question sorry...
yeah, full HD movies and also it is my main monitor so all browsing etc is done on it. higher resolution means more space as you know :)
also a bit worried that 27" might be a bit big on my small desk, I sit like only 60cm away from my 23" which is well... a little bit too close maybe...
I'm fine with the Dell really, I can suffer the little input lag there is - image quality feels more important now, I watch more videos than I play games for example. so anyway I think I'll get another U2311H
well I just got a very big "duh" moment... now I have the U2311H as primary monitor, should I really bother with another one?
haha, I mean it WOULD look nice with another one but do I really need it, I only have my terminal, IRC, IM client and music playlist on that screen. nothing that needs...
oh is that so.. interesting! well that might be something to test then.
I'm starting to think I should perhaps get another U2311H now since it IS a nice monitor and it would look nice with two of them... :)
I suppose we could call this a thread from my part unless someone has something to...
hmm? are any of the other mentioned gaming friendly IPS ones 8 bit panels?
I'm not sure if the real life difference is big but I do some hobby photography and the dell is really a lot nicer for the editing part. are details in dark areas just simply terrible on TN or is it my settings that...
I see... well hmm, then the U2410 is not really interesting I suppose.
too bad the 2209WA only has 1680x1050, it can be had for around 280 euros here in Sweden.
I'll have to revaluate this and maybe just not care too much about the really really really tiny input lag the U2311H has...
very strange - is there more than one revision of it? I'm about as one can get that it has input lag. maybe I should get another one and try it out?
I am very aware of the tearing thing so that's not to worry about, I can live with it. :)
thanks!
not sure how you're measuring but there is definitely input lag in games that run 125 FPS at least.
and no my old 75Hz had less input lag (Samsung 206BW) than my Dell, I can assure you it's not placebo since I compared them side by side a number of times.
numbers on that timer test shows...
well I think when using it, it's really easy to notice.. but then again I've played competitive FPS for a decade now, so I might be a bit demanding.
I'm not sure how much input lag the dell has actually, but it is noticable when comparing it to the BenQ - or even a CRT, which I used to have...
hmm no I honestly don't notice an increase in speed with 75Hz... still has a bit of input lag :(
so you don't actually think the E2370V with Thru-Mode will be faster than the Dell?
and would 120Hz really mean lower input lag?
thanks!
hmm well that's a little disappointing, it is like almost a year old. was hoping the technology would have gone further somewhat in that area.
why is it that there is little info on the E2370V? hasn't it been out for a month or so now?
it also seems to have the same Thru-Mode as their 120Hz...
hello there, I'm getting incredibly tired of my BenQ XL2410T cause of it's terrible colors and details in dark areas. super happy with it other than that, but yeah... 3D just makes my head hurt and I don't play as much FPS as I used to.
so, I'm now looking to buy an IPS monitor as a...
I'll have to charge my camera batteries then, so if you haven't found any you'll have to wait a little... I'm not too picky about backlight bleeding and so when it's for gaming
I've had Samsung 206BW, a few Diamondtron/Trinitron CRT's, tried 2233RZ and VX2268WM for quite some time, also some...
so it's that bad huh :( well I'll just have to get used to it then I suppose, it's not terrible since I play most stuff on quite low settings anyway.
edit: while we're at it... is there any way to like get the foot lower than the default setting.. like a replacement stand or something? it...
I went by the Lagom guide but it just gets so dark when I do that... haha, I guess I'm missing something! or maybe just too spoiled because of having used two IPS monitors before :(
Picked up this monitor today... got a few small issues that annoy me, the OSD that pops up when I start a game that is not in 1920x1080 resolution. Any way to disable it?
Second little issue is that I can't find any decent brightness/contrast settings :| really hard to see things in the dark...
well what I was hoping for is that people at least could be able to see if there was a delay by being as picky as possible.
you can always hope there is a hardcore FPS-gamer on here who has the monitor!
well I've read reviews and I can't really pass on this monitor so I ordered it. IPS and...
because usually the reviewers are not hardcore gamers, the input lag tests are done when not gaming which I'm not sure is a great idea.
I really don't wanna be disappointed with another monitor here
hmm that sounds alright
Can you or anyone who owns the monitor give me a really really picky run of Quake Live with com_maxfps set to 125?
try to get ghosting to occur etc and look for any sign of input lag.
thanks!
that is one hideous looking monitor... + it's around $300 in Sweden :( well I'll consider it.
The U2311H is on a 250 euro campaign right now! really tempted to buy it. the 8ms doesn't make ghosting occur though?
thanks!
oh and it's IPS too.. interesting. but it might be a bit pricy. not what I was hoping to shell out really.. will keep looking but it's definitely looking interesting. love the IPS one I have already
bump! it does need to have DVI this one since I got a new gfx card too... I was hoping to buy it before the weekend ends, so any help would be appreciated
sorry for bumping this thread but I ended up getting another monitor instead but I am in the hunt again for one at least 23" and fullHD resolution with as low input lag as possible
are there any new ones out there that are good enough?
cheers
haha thank you. I'm in Sweden
what I've found is:
Viewsonic VX922
Samsung 206BW
Samsung 226BW 'S' panel
Iiyama ProLite E2201w
Benq G2400W
feel free to add if you know any in this range. with real results please.
ouch, it had to be an ugly monitor that had the best results...
well that is certainly acceptable input lag.
tough decision!
unless someone have any other monitor that actually looks okay... and does not have a built-in webcam :D
