Got it sorted. In case anyone else has any problems you need to set the VGA to boot from PEG2 first to get anything in that slot to work. Working now so great. Very good board
I have just brought the S2 version of this for a client but am having a problem with getting an Abit Airpace x1 wifi card working in the x4 slot. Has anyone tried this and got it working?
Thanks
I have done the following to my EVGA KO:
Accelero S1
Zalman Blue RAMSinks (these stick great as the AC ones don't!)
Coolermaster DDR RAMSinks (TSOP style sinks) on MOSFETS
Nexus 120mm fan
With this setup in my LL V1000 and all fans at 5 or 7v I am getting idling in the low 30s and...
Hello Gents,
I am looking to buy a new gfx card for when we get our 32" LCD in the sales (possibly a Sammy LE32R87) and want to replace the current X300SE in my HTPC to something more beefy for HD playback.
So it's either a choice of:
ATi Radeon 2400XT or 2600 Pro
nVidia Geforce...
Hello Guys,
Is there any update to nVflash for windows and the G92 stuff yet. I want to try some new BIOS's so need to flash but as I understand it nVflash for windows 5.33 doesn't support the G92. Short of buying a floppy drive is there anything I can do to get it flashed?
Thanks`
I have registered my first EVGA card this week and it went smoothly. I had th email to confirm the registration a few seconds after registering and again for the product registration.
Agreed it is a bit of a pain to do so but it only takes a few minutes to sort these things out. If you are...
I think I am going to sit on this for a bit and wait for the prices to drop really. If I can get the 8800GTX in say 2-3 months for the price I can get a GTS for now I may as well wait. I have my car insurance to pay off and stuff at the mo anyway.
Thanks for the tips guys :) Roll on the 25th...
Thank you for your helpful comment  as I have already stated I am fine in waiting and would rather wait than to rush and get the wrong thing.
At no point did I say that I must rush out and get the card. I can cope quite happily.
Everyone else has been helpful but you sir have...
Thanks to all who have commented.
I think I will go for the 640MB GTS but if I can I will stretch to a GTX. I can hold out for a while as I am in no hurry and would rather wait and get that card that'll last me longer than to rush and get the wrong product. My 7900GT is doing okish at the mo...
Hello Gents,
I am in the market for a new graphics card shortly to replace my trusty 7900GT once crysis is released and MOH:A and for Vista/DX10.
Now I am only gaming at 1400x900 (at the moment) but do love my eye candy being turned up but a major requirement for me is that it lasts for...

Be my choice over Asus. Have had nothing but issues with various Asus boards over the years.
Gigabyte is a good choice for people wanting stock running boards. They are extremely stable boards when running stock
I actually had more stability issues raising the voltages. I have stuck with the +.1v on all and only using +.2v on the RAM. I have the CPU set to 1.475v (gives 1.4v after droop) which is good for 470*7 3290Mhz Orthos stable.
RAM is 1:1 and 5-5-5-15. I did try raising the voltages higher but...
Have had similar on my gf's A64 system with a dying caddy. It would hang the machine just after post. Disconnect it and it was fine. Plug it in and it would hang (would hang windows too!)
As long as you set the SATA to Legacy in the BIOS then it will act like a PATA channel and install fine.
I have used SATA DVD drives on 915s, nForce4, GeForce 6150, Intel 965 with no problems
Not whilst your gaming! :p
Game, DVD Encode, Orthos or similar for 1hr or so, then shutdown, remove motherboard and their will still be enough temp in it (but not hot enough to damage the NB when the sinks removed) to remove easily and replace with AS5
After a restart last night during orthos I have decided to take a new tack this morning.
Before my limit was 400MHz FSB. Now I am trying 460*7 for 3.22GHz at 1:1 5-5-5-15.
Temps are good, fine now for 15 minutes but obviously gonna wait it out for about 4-6 hours of orthos.
Finally got round to installing this BIOS and my my Thermalright gear.
DS3 with F11b
e6420
2GB OCZ 6400 XTC Rev 2
TR Ultra 120 with 7v fan
TR HR05 passive
So far F11b has allowed me to break the 400MHz barrier and now orthosing at 3.3GHz (Same 1.475v set in bios 1.4v real) and RAM at...
I have just rebuilt my 775 rig with a e6420, DS3 rev 3.3, Thermalright Ultra 120 and HR05 and the stock Lian Li V1000 120mm fan @ 7v.
Holding e6420 @ 3.2GHz 1.39v (real) @ 57c underload. All the 120mm fans in my rig are at 7v (apart from rear TT fan off a TTBT which is at 12v). Thats all in...
Should have everything tomorrow to do it. I will be fitting with a dangerden maze4 chipset screw kit. Also planning on an Ultra 120.
Hoping to run passively on the HR05. I will be modding the side of my V1000 at some point (once i've finished uni and in the house my gf and I are buying.)...
Upping the MCH voltage to +0.1v netted a big increase in heat from my NB. I had AS5'd the stock sink and it was really roasting (shows its working!). I then added a 40mm fan at 5v and it was a lot cooler. I have now got a HR05 to install.
Rubbish, Windows XP streams the audio down the IDE/SATA channel and not down the old audio cable. Thats legacy stuff and hasn't been needed for ages!
I have twin SATA burners and their awesome and better than IDE. Haven't had any issues booting from Windows or Live CDs
Ultra 120 extreme would be your best bet. Was bout to dig thread up off XS but its offline at the mo. Guy iirc had a x6800 at 3.7GHz passive and was 46c idle
I am looking forward to this. I read the first review on XS was very impressed. I am torn between this and the U120 Extreme! The U120 is out now but TR didn't give a date for the Ultima 90 release :(
I work in the HDD industry and can tell you that Seagate's working practise is second to none..... I only ever use Seagate drives these days, sometimes its not possible but a good 95% of them are!
I've ordered a e6420 this morning from eBuyer for £116inc del (Google checkout ten squid off ftw!).
Its on cheapo delivery so will be here next week. Also got a HR-05 to install and waiting on the Ultra 120 Extreme....
the nForce 3/4 had major issues with USB controllers and would drop the device off with delayed write failed.
I ended up running USB cards with all my nForce machines as it irritated the nuts off me.
Do you have any other issues with it at all with USB devices?
Will this help with the FSB wall for the e4300/DS3 issue? I can not do anywhere near 400FSB with this combo.
Considering a move to a e6420 to try and clear the issue
