How incredibly bizarre.
I had been using it with a secondary monitor for a while... when my battery died I began charging it and it the monitor suddenly started working again. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll keep it in mind next time I decide to buy a new laptop.
So I'm having this issue with this laptop's display. The screen is incredibly dark and I can just barely make things out (helps if I use a flashlight). I thought it might be the blacklight at first, but If I press the stand-by button, I get a clear picture (if only for a second). It also works...
I am.
Go to your Direct X sound page (Run> Dxdiag) and turn down hardware acceleration... I had to turn it off completely to get rid of all the sound problems.
I'm an avid Japanese RPG player, I'm fine with the format since they provide something that CRPGs do not. Very focused storytelling and character development.
Well thank you for not going into flame mode.
But, don't get me wrong, I like Oblivion (I wouldn't waste my time posting if I...
This is why I don't trust reviews.
"Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is simply one of the best role-playing games ever made"
Are you kidding me?
All right, first of all... The game is beautiful, there is no dout about that (Demanding as hell though). The amount of things to do is pretty...
Oblivion in my opinion doesn't feel like much of an CRPG. However, the game is just fun. Exploring, trying out new character builts, crafting... It's all done in a way that is very fun. You could go in with a shooter attitude and have a blast.
The way I thought the level scaling system would work is like this...
You travel to area "a" at level 1. The monsters in that area will be level 1.
Now, you level up and head to area "b" at level 2, the monster scale up, however the monsters in level "a" remain unchanged.
The level...
I have no problem with the level up system.
And like the OP I too noticed a rather large jump in difficulty at around level 8. However, I think the problem was that I was in too much of a rush to level up. It's damn easy to get the skill-ups required to level up... That doesn't mean you...
Man, there is absolutely nothing wrong with using a Gamepad for PC gaming.
Sure, there are those rare, few games when a Keyboard is an absolute must. If you are playing something like Fallout you sure as hell better be using a Keyboard and mouse.
But any kind of console port, sports game...
You pretty much got rid of your Xbox 360 for the same reasons that I didn't buy one.
I don't see the point honestly, unless you don't feel like building a PC for gaming.
I think it has more to do with the game engine then the current generation hardware. Remember, this game is from the makers of Morrowind... Remember Morrowind? I don't think a high end system can run it with all things maxed out and achive solid FPS and it's been how long since it's release...
I like the way you think. :)
Morrowind's felt like it gave up a lot of what makes an RPG great by allowing the player to have such "freedom." The NPCs and dialogue in general is among the worst I've ever read. The characters were so clitche' and one-dimensional, I never cared about them or...
Shogo was the first PC game I ever bought. I got it in a bundle with Septerra Core for $10 so many years ago...
I ran it off my Windows 95 Beast... Despite the constant crashing, I had a blast.
Actually, it has no potential.
What you see right there, is what the game has become with it's updates. It's a Korean MMORPG, those games reward spending your life online. Now I heard Codemaster might change the EXP and skill-up rates... But they won't/can't change the chat system, the...
I don't see the appeal for this game.
Very generic combat mechanics and very time consuming skill-up system.
Character models look pretty nice, but all the other textures look pretty bland.
The worst problem however, is the very thing that game is focused on though. Not only is there...
Short Answer : No.
Long Answer: No, however... It seems the PC is becoming more exclusive towards PC oriented titles... Such as games that depend on having heavy multiplayer support. But the days of the PC being the King of all forms of video games is over.
I have gotten the chance to play this game and I must say it's a really mediocre MMORPG and from what I understand (not being a DnD PnP fan) it's not even a really good DnD based game.
The game looked impressive enough. I followed the progress for quiet awhile hoping this would be a MMORPG I...
I want to give the game a shot, but the wounds of Morrowind run extremely deep... was one of the most dissapointing games I've ever played.
If the story is a big tigher this time around and the characters are well developed (not being incredibly clithe and one-dimensional would be a big...
Yup, how else would you explain Halo being as popular as it is?
You are also correct about your second comment. Not once has a PC game been sold out when I went to my local Bestbuy/EBgames/Gamestop. Not Half Life 2, not Doom 3, not even the incredibly overhyped games (that turned out to be...
I love the PSP concept.
I loved it until the day I finaly got my own... When I finaly held it in my hand... when the novelty of emulation and homebrews wore off... I realized it was just a bunch of things jammed together into one mediocre experience. Not that it's a bad handheld, it just...
You hate it when people bitch? Hm...
Look, instead of acting like it's the end of the world, why not put some of that so called "skill" into learning a new way to play with the helicopter.
It's far from useless if you are someone of average intelligence. You see, machine gun shots from...
I'm having a strange problem...
Since installing the patch, when ever I login... I get automaticly started on a server. @.@
Simple enough to ESC, but it's annoying...
One thing about PSX emulation, is that it's not %100 yet.
I use two emulators to get all my games running well...
ePSXe and PSXeven.

For most 3D games, I use Pete's OpenGL2 Driver. With the following settings...
Plugin: Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.6

Well, I'm currently majoring in english along side religious studies (no Harvard however...).
I wasn't looking for any profound truth, I played this when I was really young and I found the overall messeges very compelling. This was one of the things that sparked my interest in religion...
Yeah, I've been waiting for a smaller version of the DS.
I was thinking PSP for a while, but other then emulation... I just don't see the point.
DS is going to be sporting the best handheld line-up, guess I will go with Nintendo on this.
 I think someone right here does not understand the deeper messeges...
Don't worry though, you are not alone.
Why? Because it's a REAL MMORPG. There is no easy task, everything is a challenge. No click fest battle system here, this game takes real teamwork. This game takes...
3. Final Fantasy VII
2. Final Fantasy VI
1. Final Fantasy IV (this is purely based on nostalgia for me though)
I'd say the ones to avoid are Final Fantasy XI if you are afraid of a real MMORPG (no Wow players here) and Final Fantasy V (I was bored the entire time).
06' is already looking to have some fairly decent games...
For PC, I'm really looking forward to Quake Wars and Hal Life 2: Aftermath. Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan is looking to add some excellent new additions to an already incredible game. Neverwinter Nights 2 is looking...
No.
Console games are so dumbed down these days, it's nice to have something that provides an actual challenge, even if it is a manual dexterity challenge.
