It took longer to prepare a bootable USB key and extract the files to it from the ISO than it did to install Windows 8.
Did a clean install on a dual boot stripped array. No preinstall RAID drivers, Windows 8 recognized everything and installed. It was painless and when I was done everything...
I can't believe my status is noobie when I started with DOS 3.2 back in the day when a 5 MB drive cost about $300.00. I guess I should post more..... :) Thanks for all the help from the masters of HardOCP......
Thanks for the replies.
I had a Samsung 2.5 mechanical drive and it plugged into the backplane just fine. I mounted a OCZ Agility SSD drive in the same position as the Samsung and when it is pushed in it stops when it makes contact with the backplane connector and will not go any further...
I need a 2 SSDs for cache on a Norco RPC-3216. I had a pair of OCZ drives and they wouldn't plug in to the backplane. Can someone make a recommendation for a SSD that does fit?
Stevereno
I was looking at getting a pair of 4770 but they don't come with crossfire connectors. Depending on where you go the connectors are between 9 and 12 dolllars a piece. If you are a Radeon noob like me you don't have a set of connectors in your goody box.
Something to think about if you are...
Speaking of that chest-mounted camera, Brad, a NASA engineer, spent the evening before the launch of Apollo 11 modifying the camera bracket that mounted that camera to the space suite. The original design had the Hasselblad camera pointed toward the ground at an angle instead of straight ahead...
I cleaned my ram real well and applied Swiftech ram sinks only to find one at the bottom of my case one day. Fortunately it was the lower Video Card in my SLI rig so I'm pulling them off and going with a pair of D-Tek Uni-Sinks
To use this solution you will need the Swiftech G80 adapter for...
What next advanced chipset is in planning stage for the Phenom processor with SLI capability. I don't expect AMD chipsets to support SLI since they own ATI.
Without SLI for the Phenom looks like I will have to move back to a Intel processor.
I was really looking forward to some Phenom...
I have an Opteron 185 to go into a brand new out of the box A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Can I put the Opteron in and update the BIOS without any consequences?
My question, will it boot to where I can update the BIOS?
Thanks calvin_q. Thats a good idea but I have the block for the cpu and a reservoir. I could connect the res 3rd port on the return. I will just have to see how it lays out. I was planning to use a temp sensor in the 3rd port of the res. I'll just have to see it all plumbed up first.
Here's my Project Page Link
Water Cooled Lian Li PC-343B Project
To answer the previous question by Arcygenical. The MOSFETs are being water cooled to eliminate a need to air cool them. Plus the heatsink for one secton is one piece and covers MOSFET SB and NB. I could leave that there but...
I'm still in the layout stage but here's a shot of the backside of the motherboard on the power supply side. My pump and reservoir are just sitting there. I'm waiting on the radiator whch is going to fill that right side bay.
Does it make sense to run the northbridge, southbridge and MOSFET cooling in parallel to the CPU GPU loop as follows:
.................pump
.....................|
....................V
............360 x 120 rad
....................Y
...............|...........|
.............cpu......NB...
I have one of these sitting on the floor. I bought it to add water cooling. Plenty of room for anything you want to do. Going 120mm X 360mm radiator.
The Quality is awesome! Unfortunately the modular parts like the radiator brackets and 120mm bay filters are non existant in the USA.
Has anyone used a Swiftech MCW-Ramcool cooler on a EVGA 7600GT KO Video Card?
I am trying to avoid Lucite topped Video Coolers. Can anyone recomend an alternate water cooling setup that also water cools the RAM?
Thanks!
You should call Microsoft Product Support and let them walk you through a recovery.
It will be money well spent, the Product Support team for Small Business Server have a lot of experence rebuilding a server from lights out condition. You will not be sorry you called them. For ITPro call...
During the install did it prompt you for the nvidia raid driver? Did windows setup offer a more updated driver, if so, use the Windows version and see what happens. If you don't remember it asking then you missed a step. Are you sure you pressed F6 in time?
You may want to start from scratch...
