Everyone has their own experiences with different MB manufacturers. I've never had an issue with an ASUS motherboard, and use them in most of my builds. I've also never had an issue with ASROCK motherboards. MSI's are about 50/50, and I used to love Gigabyte mbs, until the last 3 I purchased...
Blue screens with the old motherboard, now black screens with new? Sounds to me like it's not a motherboard issue at all. If you have some old memory, video card, or psu laying around, I'd suggest swapping them out.
Glad I accidentally stumbled onto this thread. Wasn't even looking for something related to this. Baked my laptop mb with video issues earlier at 375 degrees for 10 minutes, and now it works like new again.
I'm just going by what I found when doing a quick google search. On MSI's website it shows that their 6800 Ultra 256mb card has dual link DVI.

I was having the same problems. Got fed up with it and reinstalled XP. Gonna wait til Nvidia gets off their Lazy asses and releases a driver that actually works.
I was able to open 31 windows with no artifacts, so I am certain it's not a hardware issue in my case. Couldn't open anymore than that cause my system was pretty much at a standstill. Test it out in XP and see what you get.
I just reinstalled XP cause I was having severe issues getting my 8800gtx to work in vista. I was getting severe artifacting in games while running SLI. I know it's got to be the crappy Nvidia drivers cause I have 2 BFG 8800gtx's also and they did the exact same thing. I tried 2 different...
Get used to it. I have all kinds of weird problems with my cards in Vista. Nvidia needs to get off their asses and release a decent driver. I still can't use SLI in WoW.
when i went from xp to vista my framerates jumped about 30fps. I was getting around 40-60 in xp, and now in vista i get 70-90 with just one card installed. I can't get SLI to function correctly with the crappy beta driver they have for vista.
I can't get SLI to work in WOW with the 100.59 drivers. It plays fine for about a minute then it artifacts all over the place. I've tried using each card by themselves with no problems, but when I install the both and turn on SLI it just doesn't work.
I stopped buying XFX cards when I had horrible CS support for my 7800GT cards. I had to RMA a 3day old card to them, and they sent me back a used card, that had a scratched hsf cover, and fan blades that were coated in dust. I never intend to purchase another XFX card.
Score with system in Sig. All parts are at stock speeds. I may OC at a later date, but for now, everything is staying stock.

Bought 1 Evga and 1 BFG. Both GTX's. Newegg is allowing only 1 per household, and I wanted SLI on friday. Also ordered an eVga 680i motherboard. System in sig will be the same, save for the new MB and Video cards.
I found a way to do it. I just had to order a USB wireless network adapter to replace my pci wireless card. Hopefully everything gets shipped tomorrow, so i can have it by Friday.
Newegg is only allowing a limit of 1 on the eVga cards. Had to order 1 eVga and Bfg. I want a 680i Mb so bad, but the pci setup sux on the eVga board. I need to be able to use both, but one of them will be covered by the second card. Guess I'll have to wait til other manufacturers release their...

I've got the Silverstone 750w PSU in my system, and my 7900gt fans are louder than it. I sleep in the same room as my computer, and it doesn't keep me awake. It's actually alot quieter than the reviews make you think.
My first chip was a 0607. My seconde i got the 0610. I couldn't test the 0607 past 2.6ghz because my board won't go past 289fsb without crashing. The 0607 ran stable 2.6ghz @1.425volts. An 800mhz OC is not to shabby. My 6010 runs the same, but a stock volts. Wish i could test it further, but am...
Brand New. cbwe0607 OEM chip, comes with 3 year warranty through Monarch computers. [email protected] is no problem. My MB won't go past 293FSB, So I am unable to test it further.
