Depends what you're doing. DO you do anything that hits RAM hard? Are you a gamer? Then upgrade, it'll make a nice difference. 2*512 MB Ballistix PC3200 is less than $120 now over at the Egg.

Run Memtest. If it shows errors (not overclocked) your memory is damaged.

That's really hard to do with Ballistix. I can do 260 @ 2.5-2-3-5 but tRP @ 2 is impressive for Micron at that speed. Can I "trade" other timings to get the tRP to 2 or is that impossible? I'd be interested in an A64 Tweaker shot of your exact settings, Eclipse, if you have one.

Just to confirm -- my 2 x 512 MB PC3200 both have .16TG at the end. These are double-sided G die sticks, right?

Yeah Eclipse, my RAM works better in slots 1 and 3. In 1 & 2 = errors galore, but the boot issue happens whenever two sticks are inserted, period. Doesn't matter which slots are being used. If only one stick is installed = no errors at all. It's a weird one, but no major hassle.

Has anyone else had the same boot issue I'm having: If the power supply is turned off, and the cable is removed, when powering back on at the PSU switch my RAM isn't detected. Keeping it switched on but pressing the reset switch once will get it to fully POST. Otherwise it just sits there...
