Man, just get the Logitech Z623 and call it a day. They're not nearly as bad as people around here like to say they are. While those pioneer speakers someone recomended are probably the best sounding loudspeakers you can get at their price, a decent amp is gonna put you out of your budget, and...
Actually the opposite is true. You will get BETTER performance on a 4k screen since you can run games at 1920 x 1080 with zero scaling artifacts/ no loss of image quality whatsoever. On a current 2560 x 1440 screen you're stuck at that high resolution so when some new game drops that a GTX 780...
A set of monitors with room controls oughtta do the trick. like KRK's rokit series. There's a HF level control on the back that you can set to -2db.
If you're like me and think the KRKs are ugly as hell you could go for some mackies instead. Similar performance. They also have the a 2db HF cut...
Go for the desktop konnekt 6. I got mine for $130 new on ebay and it's been performing like a champ. Sounds great- no audible noise, great stereo imaging, clean/powerful headphone amp. Low latency too- i'm pretty picky and i can play drums on it fine.
the desktop konnekt 6? funny you mention that, because that's the guy I was planning on swapping out my native instruments interface with for the extra headphone power before i saw on sound on sound's review that it had 11.25ms latency vs the komplete audio 6's 2ms....
eh... on principle i will never pair a set of monitors with a sub from another brand. Just doesn't blend... If you know of any monitors in the same price range as the setups i mentioned that can go down to the mid 30s +/- 1db at 110db w/o a sub I'm all for it but don't think any exist.
Anyways...
go for the klipsch promedias. basssss. Il take them any day over ANY bookshelf size speaker w/o a sub. Even, say, a pair of genelec 8020b's. Without the bottom, music has no soul.
return the 250ohm version and get the 32 ohm
that or you could get a xonar stx. bangin card
or better yet, return the dt770s and get some (32ohm) denon ahd2000s. A lot more bass, (deeper too) if that's what you're looking for, and it just sounds better in every way. It'l sound bomb with the...
huh... all i can say is my native instruments komplete audio 6 is pretty darn quick. supposed to be one of the fastest usb interfaces around. definitely gets the job for me and I'm pretty picky with latency, particularly when programing drums with pads.
I've used it with omnisphere which has...
Actually lion made the mouse movement a little better in my opinion. It's closer to windows now but still a little too much acceleration. I don't mind it when I'm using a tracpad but for mouse movement it drives me nuts.
Hello? Boot camp?
Done.
Osx lion is pretty nice, but mouse acceleration curve is so bad that I prefer windows whenever I have a mouse.
I have the newest 15" mbp with a 2.2ghz quad core i7, 4gigs ram and some radeon 6 series with 1gb of memory. You definitely can't max out crysis but...
I live in a fraternity house so they'l be in my 18'x25' bedroom, and like I said il be mainly using them just to listen to music, but I will also be doing a little bit of mixing on them.
topic. I'm leaning towards the jbls just because i can't stand the yellow cones on the krk. but will the krks have that much more power thanks to the 225 watt sub? vs the 180watt jbl
I'l be doing a tiny amount of amateur mixing on them but primarily will use them just to listen to music and...
I actually prefer glossy screens (i think they look better and actually increase readability when there's a lot of glare) and don't mind the lower resolution at all since it makes text more readable.
But I'm still gonna say stick with your 2.6ghz mbp. The 2 extra cores you get with the sandy...
logic pro comes with amp emulation
http://www.apple.com/logicstudio/plug-ins/
you can also get hardware guitar modeling processors, like the Digitech RP55 or RP70
http://www.digitech.com/products/Multi-Effects/RP55.php
yea thats happened to me. With old recordings sometimes the stuff u lose through mp3 compression is actually worth losing. For example, an old pekka pohjola recording i contains the sound of the snares buzzing on hard piano chord hits, which is pretty irritating, when it synced to my ipod nano...
m200mkiis, like all powered2.0 desktop speakers in your price range, have overpowering trebble that even a maxed out graphic equalizer can't tame.
There's simply no way of getting around the fact that you need large speakers to produce bass. So either you 1.) make room for some gigantic...
HTIB's 1.) Are not in this price range 2.) come with bulky unwanted external amplifiers and 3.) often also include dvd/bluray players which further add to bulk and cost without being of any use whatsoever.
If you actually watch dolby digital movies on your pc or want surround sound for...
Incorrect. You can get speakers that go well below 40hz for $50.
http://www.amazon.com/Eagle-Tech-AR504LR-BK-Soundstage-Subwoofer/dp/B0029Z9UNW
Those altec lansing speakers are full range and are not what I'm complaining about.
I would actually go so far as to say that they are in fact much...
If you wanna dip into "real sound" territory, you could get a pair of polk audio monitor 30s and a polk audio psw10. If you power those 30s with this 100 watt mini amp
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-383
It'l be $299 + speaker wire, and will emasculate all the...
Go for the promedia 2.1s. Disregard the messages below this one telling you that you should get d1080s or av40s or some other "audiophile's speakers". (hint: those hivi/audioengine speakers are not actually audiophile speakers ) Such posts will most likely will be written by well meaning...
Input lag is by far the most important thing to take into account for gaming. The whole industry wide obsession with pixel response time as a measure of gaming performance is a complete joke. I've found through experience that screens with 2ms response times can be worthless gaming displays...
One possible cause is hearing damage. If this is the first pair of headphones you've had that can actually produce bass, your ears might be a bit blown out disproportionately in the upper register, which will make it hard to hear sounds in that frequency range in the presence of lower...
the "you almost certainly don't need X if you have to ask what it's for" is where you came off as a bit of a douche, FYI. I caught it as well. Nothing to do with "paranoia."
Wow... Apparently not a lot of people in bands here...
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FastTrackUltra.html
Trust me thats as cheap as you can go if you want to actually record as a band.
