@dondan
Really liking this more and more each time I look at this thread.
The build I have in mind is low-mid range gaming/general purpose machine.
M/B: ASUS MAXIMUS-VII-IMPACT
CPU: 4590S
GPU: 750Ti
100-150 ok with me too.
just a few wish list things if these can be considered
- dust...
anyone else here with a 4870 that sometimes for no reason spins up the FAN to maximum speed?
it seems to occur everyone now and then for about 1 second - it scares teh shit out of you when your just web surfing.
Hi Spaceman - what do are your impressions on these set of 2.1 from Edifier
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=567_568&products_id=7580
still using the DELL 2405 and itching for an upgrade.
i only have one major concern - INPUT LAG.
and it doesnt appear to be getting addressed seriously by anyone.
they all talk that same marketing BS with their reduced processing yada yada techniques but poop results.
(and no i dont...
theres a little bit at the inq.

wonder what panel they will use...
can i safely assume that all 8600GTS are HDCP enabled?
ie. this is part of Nvidia's mandate?
i just bought an ECS 8600GTS+ and it doesnt seem to state HDCP anywhere...
this is quite normal.
what resolution are ur vids?
I know i can never get used to watching standard resolution DVD on the 2405.
even 1080 stuff looks craptastic when viewed like a PC user - gotta sit back.
i have the same PSU.
from what i gather - it is not certified for 8800GTX SLI.
atm it gets the stamp of approval for 8800GTS and 7900GTX SLI
but theres nothign stopping you from whacking 2 8800GTX together to find out if it works.
9800XT with the DELL 2405.
works fine for desktop.
only 1 game runs 1920*1200 at an 'acceptable' frame rate - Guild Wars.
ive dropped it down to 1080 fora bit more smoothness.
lag time between the movement of ur mouse to the pointer on your screen.
while its not noticeable on the desktop - playing Counterstrike on my 2405 is horrible as is with many other FPS.
its feels like your towing the pointer across the screen like a car and a trailer.
ppl who claim...
now that we are fast approaching the magic 1000w PSU
i'd like to know (or specualate) what break thrus we might expect to see for the PC?
or are we destined to continually see hikes in wattage?
are there any manufacturers thinking outside the box as far as PSU goes?
im experiencing the same - i even went to 2.10
was slightly better but still every now and then my rig would just freeze in windows - no error logs too.
oh gee thanks....
i think everyone on this forum knows wat SMP is and if they didnt, they could have googled it in 0.253 seconds for an answer - we certainly dont need someone like you for that answer.
well thats wonderful - except u forget these apps were programmed to use multi-CPUs...
i have nothing assigned manually but i see the point whhy ppl are doing so.
moving to multi-core is almost defeated thanks to a crappy OS - lets face it XP was never fully intended to accommodate mutiple cores.
i think u should calm down and read what i actually posted.
i thought it was common knowledge that when it came to multi-cores - Windows was retarded in utilising them effectively.
so i think ppl who manually assign CPU chores are going the right direction.
lets hope VISTA gets multi-cores/multi-threading processing right.
if u think thats funny you should see my Everest results on my 4400+
Field Value
CPU 27 °C (81 °F)
Field Value
CPU #1 / Core #1 16 °C (61 °F)

now tell me is it possible for a core to be double the temp of the other???
or am i reading...
im confused.
i get 3 temp reading from Everest Ult.

what is what??
just installed the 4400+ on my DS2.
cannot figure why i cant get the 10 multi to work - so now i have it at 220*11 (1:1) with HTT 800. my 3200LL is good for 225.
all stock atm.
even with the OCWB8 - no luck.
anyway i primed both for 7-8hrs with 1 core failing.
i also noticed that...
unfortunately Australia doesnt get the same variety of PSUs.
anyhow - this is my first TT PSU and so far so good.
powering:
3 HDD
Switftech H20 kit
9800XT - soon to be replaced by X1900
winnie [email protected]
but im still looking forward for a JonnyG review on this unit.
ok the PSU has arrived.
i have 1 question for Tt Tech before i fire this unit up.
i notice under the 14mm fan there is a stip of clear plastic.
is this normal?
although it doesnt look like it comes into contact with anything - im worried this plastic will melt.
can i ask you how long you used ur liberty 620 before it went?
i had mine ~2 months 24/7 usage and then one night i heard a loud POP.
i wouldnt mind a replacement unit - sort of come to like the unit but.....
JonnyGURU any chance of landing one of those TT 750w in ur LAB?
i...
ok my Enermax 620 has been in RA for over a month now - im told that theres a prob getting it sourced back down under (australia) so i could be looking at a credit or a replacement in ~3weeks. its BS but...
so heres wat im looking at:
either use my credit and get a Silverstone 600 modular...
