Hi everybody,
It's been a long time, since I've build a gaming rig, so I could use some advice.
My son need's an upgrade. Coming from this:
Board ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE - Haswell
CPU Intel Core i5-4670 Haswell - Box
Case Fractal Design ARC Mini - Black
Cooling Corsair Hydro H80i High...
As guessed I'm in Europe, to be precise Denmark.
To answer some questions, there are no plans to OC'ing. For gameing questions... Battlefield, and some adventure games ,like League Of Legends, WOW and so on. Also he is playing around with some streaming.
My reason for looking at the H60, was...
Since I don't need SLi the following mobo's could be in play:
ASUS Z87M-PLUS
ASUS GRYPHON Z87
Gigabyte GA-Z87M-D3H
But I like the SupremeFX on Asus's MAXIMUS VI GENE
Hi,
Back at it Again, after a long time. I'm building a gameing rig for my son, and could use some inputs. So far I got this in mind:
Fractal Design ARC Mini R2
Silver Power SP-S650M 650W PSU
ASUS MAXIMUS VI GENE, Socket-1150
Intel Core i5-4670K Processor
Corsair H60 Hydro
Crucial...
I'm planing on building a ITX rig, which is to be used for everyday use, encoding, occational FPS gameing.
When looking at the different ITX boards, the following 2 looks like the are the ones to go for. But which board is best? The Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 or DFI's LanParty MI P55-T36? The CPU...
The XFX Radeon HD 5850 (1 GB) is around 2.000 Dkr around 378 USD
and Sapphire RADEON HD 5850 (1 GB) is 1.900 Dkr around 359 USD
BTW. the Corsair Dominator TWIN2X PC8500 4GB DDR2 costs 949 Dkr around 179 USD
and 2 Gb Crucial DDR2 BallistiX TRACER PC8500 costs 619 Dkr around 117 USD (4Gb...

XFX Radeon HD 4890 XT (1 GB) is avalible for 1.400 Dkr which is around 264 USD
US rate is 529,2
Thx. Danny
I'll see what other RAM there is... Maybe 4Gb Crucial DDR2 BallistiX TRACER PC8500
About the prices... i'll check them out, and give you an idea about europe prices. Denmark is normaly in the lower end if the pricescale :-)
@Danny
I'm buying in Denmark.... mainly.
The PC is ment as a workstation. I use it for ripping DVD's and CD for my Mediaplayer and Squeezebox duet.... creating ISO's and so on.
And it also functions as a backup gameRIG :-)
OS Windows 7
I also thought about trying ITX boards.... but there...
I'm about to build a new rig and found following parts:
Silverstone SG03
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Cooler SilverStone Nitrogen NT06-E
Corsair Dominator Twin2X4096-8500C5D 2x2 Gb
ASUS Maximus II GENE
Grafikkort XFX GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition
Harddisk Samsung SpinPoint F3 HD502HJ 500 GB...
Well... to start with.. when I saw the Rouge in this forum, I just knew that I had to get it. The pictures.. made it look fantastic, no doubt. I even had to get it from Germany, since it was'nt avalible in Denmark.
So why og what is it that I dislike?
Mainly the poor build quality, how...
Ok... I thought it might be out, but not avalible here in Denmark. That's why I asked :)
I'm so tired of my NZXT Rouge, maybe the worst case I ever bought. And figured that the PC-A06 might be a better solution, also for future watercooling.
I don't know if this case is out yet... But does anybody have an idea if it will fit a Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120?
Would like to get rid of my NZXT Rouge.
Hmm... thx. I own a Digital printing company, so I could print it there.
I was thinking on, maybe, getting an OKI printer. They should have a good economy, when printing in color.
Since my Canon i850 is starting to feel a little bit tired, I been thinking about replacing it with a Color Laser printer. But which one should I look for? Considering the toner cost and so on?
Looks like a case with opportunities.

Nice... I'm gonna follow this build... the first one, I've found, using a V300 together with watercooling.
I'm still wondering if I should skip my NZXT Rouge and go with a V350
I'm helping a friend putting a new system together.
So far I came up with this config:
Intel E8400
4 Gb Crusial Ballistix Tracer PC8500
Asus P5E-VM HDMI
EVGA GeForce GTX 260
Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
Samsung DVD-burner SH-S203 SATA
Silverstone PSU ST60F-GM 600W...
Looking great Lars_L.
We have almost the same configuration.
I'm using the E8400 with the same cooler, and Crucial Ballistix PC8500 RAM.
Currently my CPU is running 3.6 GHz, and is under load not over 36-37°C
It's a great system. To cool the NZXT Rouge and the Thermalright, I've found some...
If you can find one.... You should buy Creative USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2NX. But they are not made anymore. So you should look for a used one. It's one of the best ever made... in my oppinion
My verdict:
It looks nice to begin with.... but..
It's big, poor build quality, bad construction af the Motherboard tray whict makes it difficult to install a 8800 card.
@craigbru... love your mod, but you are total rebuilding the case which can correct some of the build errors. Looking...
I'm building a gamerig. Had 2 RMA's on my first choice, the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R. So there for I choose another board, but missed the thing about Dual Channel :(
I've just ordered a PSU tester like this one: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/FCPU_LCD_PSU_Tester/index.shtml maybe it can give me some answers.
RAM is Crusial Ballastix Tracer PC8500. I've tried with only one stick
No video card installed. Only one is onboard.
Clear CMOS? are you sure? it's a brand new board... never used
Hi,
I am in need of some good advice.
Since this is my 3. GA-G33M board, other once replaced by RMA, i'm starting to get piss'ed. When I put everything together and getting ready to power up, the same problem shows.
When pushing the pwr. on, the CPU fan spin's up, and then the systme shut's...
Interesting problem.... I'm also looking for a small mp3 player solution. My idea was to take a mITX board with wireless, some RAM and a good soundcard. The hole thing controlled by a touchscreen. The problem was finding the right screen (10.2") and jukebox like software and a nice looking case...
TR-3B supports 3 fans, using 3 temp. sensors. Due to fault no the GA-G33M-DS2R, I have'nt gotten any further. And it might take som weeks before I get that far... due to very slow RMA handleing.
Small problem. After putting everything together it's time to fire the machine up.. push the bottom... is starts, and the shut's down. Can't figure out why. I've tried to remove the RAM, and putting the in again one by one... no result.
The PSU is a Silverstone ST60F, so there should be power...
