I always have a problem with this when I wake my computer up from sleep. The audio through hdmi doesn't work and then I either have to disable the device and re-enable it or restart the pc to get it working again. Any way to avoid this?

No, it doesn't work with base installation (Windows 8.1). So, perhaps 8.1 (period with or without updates) is not compatible with the adaptor or at least Asus' implementation of it? edit: I'm just trying to get the lan adapter to work (Ethernet). Nothing I do seems to work.

Well, I think I am now having the same problem as Vasta. I can hear certain channels but not others. For instance, I can hear system sounds, audio from games, music in media player but I cannot hear audio from youtube videos. Anyone else experience this? Have any tips?

Bumping the thread just to say that I figured out what was wrong. It was the connection from the front of my pc case to the motherboard. It had been knocked loose. So the power switch on the case just wasn't working. That also explains the problems I was having with the front usb ports...
