I've got a mail merge setup in Word 2007 that gets its data from an Access 2007 database. When I open the document and connect to the data source everything is fine. When I click preview results the fields show as expected. However, after choosing to finish and merge to a new document the fields...
So I was folding fine with SMP running on an i5-750 and to 5770s thanks to the following environment variables...
BROOK_YIELD = 2
CAL_NO_FLUSH = 1
CAL_PRE_FLUSH = 1
FLUSH_INTERVAL = 114
I found a nice balance of SMP CPU usage and the video cards still being fed.
My question is has...
I started having this problem back in November. About 20% of my SMS messages would come to the phone but no notification would appear. I would only know about the messages when I opened the messaging app to send an unrelated message.
So I rooted my moto droid and installed Project Elite v5...
The only replies I get are from newer Cisco switches and an older router. I'm surprised by that. I would think if it's a legitimate security concern a company like Cisco would have defaulted that to off by now.
At work we're running 4 15000RPM SAS drives to support our Hyper-V cluster. What is that speed and those quick access times doing for us? Absolutely nothing. In fact we're upgrading due to low disk space and going with 7200RPM SATA drives. Between my experience at work and my own lab I would say...
I remember my Athlon 64 3500+ being an awesome multi tasker for a single core.
I also need to mention the Athlon XP 2500+. Had my best overclock with that cpu prior to my i5.
Back off your overclock and see if everything runs smoothly.
If that works then I would recommend more voltage on the ICH core and ICH I/O.
In my experience slow boot times when overclock is the result of data corruption in various areas of the system. If your ICH is overworked for the...
Sounds like adding icons to the desktop would be the thing to do. Maybe allow the users to do it provided that doesn't run afoul of your security policies.
What kind of training are they planning for the users before they sit them down in front of their new machines?
I'm gonna try running the SMP with out the GPU clients running and see how much of a gain I get over the next week.
Have any of you ever worked with the environment variables for the ATI drivers? I have the following set...
BROOK_YIELD=2
CAL_NO_FLUSH=1
CAL_PRE_FLUSH=1
FLUSH_INTERVAL=112
So I'm looking at FAHSpy this morning and see that my phenom, Xeon, and i5 are all working on project 6701. I noticed that the Xeon at 3Ghz is beating the i5 at 4.01Ghz by about 2 mins a step. I know things can be different between runs in a project but with a 1Ghz difference I wouldn't have...
I game on a LAN almost weekly. I have a couple of buddies that come over and bring their laptops to play various games. The real nice thing about the LAN option is going outside, setting up an adhoc wireless network and playing some games while getting fresh air. That's just one example of good...
I've had this WinTV-HVR-2250 for awhile and it's worked well with windows media center. I wanted to play around with windows media encoder so I installed it and tryed to recorded.
The first error I got was "There was no match for the specifed key in the index. (0x80070491)". That was using a...
The downloads on HP's site for th DV9700 series list the intel matrix storage manager. You may be able to enable the raid that way. Usually though, post OS installation, raid configuration is not possible.
It's also possible that the raid config was done on a software basis with some...
In my experiance SMART test usually don't fail even when there is a problem, so if the short test is showing failure that's a good enough sign for me to start recovery and toss the drive.
If the SMART test failed then you might be out of luck.
You could try a recovery program like File Scavenger which can sometimes identify files even when the NTFS partition table is missing.
I would also suggest not running the drive until you're ready to perform the recovery. If the...
My Athlon XP 2500+ and the 3500+ I had after that both multitasked beautifully. I never had to leave my machine while burning a CD or DVD that I can remember. The issue might be with something else that could be common with your builds. I'd take a look at your hard drive setup and see if you...
I see the shipping cost going up and the customer service going down with in the next couple of years.
I could be wrong, I hope I'm wrong, but I'm still sad.
When do ya think Microsoft will release their technet downloads via a private tracker? Seems like that would make sense since they'll never have enough bandwidth/servers to keep up with demand for a new product like this.
I'd know you'd still have to log in to the technet site to get keys and...
Something about that sentence scares me.
People being ignorant to technology and doing stupid things with it is no reason to try and limit or stop the use of if.
Why does our society never target the correct source of a problem?
Don't blame the parents, blame the "violent" video...
That's not really true either. "Gaming" has tried to go main stream which gives you games that are more button mashing than thought.
An example of the down turn in game quality is perfectly evident in the Need for Speed series. Why develop accurate physics when you can blur the sides of the...
Actually they are not stiffing them in any way. They don't present other's content. They link to the publisher's site where the publisher has their own ad space.
The publisher gets to make their money on ads just like google does. If anything google is acting like a middle man getting more...
I see it now. Well, if those arrows up top are the air flow direction you'd want to reverse that. Pulling air across a radiator is better than pushing it. It's also better to pull hot air out of the case rather than push it in.
This is no different than advertising the Windows Key + Tab function as new. It's not new it just a flashier Alt+Tab, big deal.
All this is, is a nother iteration of the "Add/Remove Windows Components". So they added to the list and when you uncheck some of them it actually removes the...
I gotta say I miss the old simulation games. Jane's combat flight sims came with 150-200 page manuals with good information in them. Sure you could get away with not reading it but there was something to be gained from doing so.
Now games don't even have manuals because people are lazy. It's...
