Thanks for the info BillParrish.
Just another update:
I know my ram is good up to at least 505mhz (1010mhz) at 5-5-5-15 on 1.9v.
I seem to be getting some seriously high temps on the cpu at 3.1/3.2ghz. I increased the volts to 1.39 but crashed once and several times errors. Other times...
I've overclocked my rig to 2.9ghz but I'm pretty sure I can get a little more out of it. I've tried OCing further but have experienced instability.
There are some options I'm not too familar with and would like any suggestions to help me OC further!
I've added pics to show settings and...
All versions have worked for me, but the first release the logo was nVidia for my ATI card
There is data missing from a couple of sections though. (Shader, Revision and Display) The driver version doesn't state the catalyst driver set.
Thuis, not sure if the other info is...
WEll it's double my score but I would have thought with your GPU and CPU, you'd get more. I think the GPU is the problem here. Im sure Ive seen the SM2 and SM3.0 score over 4000 marks.
Overall I would hae thought you'd get something like 10500-11000
sweet a x1950xt
You definitely got a nice upgrade from your rma.
The x1950pro is definitely a little slower (~10%) than the x1800xt in probably 60-70% of real world games. I know cos when I bought a 2nd hand x180xt from a company, it came slightly damaged and artifacted. I sent it back for a...
PC is my # 1, but if the consoles were cheap then I'd pick one up. As above Nintendo have some of the finest titles and are exclusive to their consoles.
Having been away from this game mid-way in my first (and only) game. I really do miss Cyrodiil!
In the past few days I've gradually gotten myself back into the game and what a beautiful world it is with Qarl's TP3 (Mega thanks Qarl!)
Well the mobo is set at 1.45v but seems to mainly stay at 1.39v-1.4v. The setting doesn't seem to let me change the voltage although I haven't looked into detail.
Recently I have been looking around for a dual core skt 939 CPU, but I thought it wasn't worth it considering prices will fall for Intels C2D and DDR2 ram, etc.... so last week I decided to overclock my CPU instead :D
I was a bit wary as my system is fine and does what it needs to do, so I...
Im also considering online gaming (such as Guild Wars, etc) and wondering whether pro has an advantage over Home in terms of security? (or possibly other issues)
Many thanks
Thanks for the links. I've already seen the MS one which is next to useless, but the Kid-computer one is good. It explains what the main differences are and it looks like Home is better in my instance as I won't be needing networking although security features would be nice.
I wanted to find out what the main differences are between the home and pro versions of XP.
Is the home version stripped down or does the pro version have features that are not erlevant to home users (e.g. targetted at businesses, etc)
many thanks
Does anyone know what the red LED (by the PCIe power ) is for? My blinks when I power on my PC and then it disappears and then the green LED (by the fan) stays on.
Many Thanks
Thanks, I could do with another Molex connector.
Just another question.
Does it matter which molex I connect the PCIe extension to? (i.e. all molexs provide the same power, etc)
Well, I own 2 Connect3D cards (X800gto & X1900 crossfire edition) and it would be a shame to see them out of business.
I used the propellerhead support service only recently (about a month ago) when I got my X1900 and enquired about the memory speeds.
I went from my X800gto to an X1800XT (both 256mb cards) and the difference was huge. There is definitely difference. I had to return the X1800 after a week or so as it was not stable. Instead I got the X1900 crossfire edition card (effectively an X1900XT 512mb) and it really shines. Most games...
Sorry for the late reply.
I've taken a quick snap of the connectors.
The Extra plu has four wires (two black in the centre and one red and one yellow at either end of the plug)
I've had a couple of erors when running Super Pi.
My parts are as follows and were run stock
3700+ (2200mhz)
2x 1gb Crucial value ram (DDR400)
X1900 CF edition
Asrock 939dualsataII
The errors I encountered are:
1) Not exact in round.
2) Non convergent in SQR05
I've read...
Thanks guys.
Another retailer selling the same CPU (with same code) seems to indicate they are Toledo whereas the one I saw informed me they are Manchesters.
Now Im not sure whether to go for one to upgrade my 3700 or if I should
a) wait till AMD announces their new line and hope for a...
Hi,
I can't seem to find the correct answer to this problem.
A retailer sells the AMD 4200 Dual core with the following code: ADA4200DAA5CD. My understanding is that this is a Toledo?
I thought the ADA4200DAA5BV was the Manchester core. However, I queried this with the retailer and they...
I came across this utility that suppose to be more accurate in reading the CPu temps.
It's called Core Temp.
Just wondering if anyone has used this before and if its safe to do so?
Thanks guys. I took the last option and not upgrade, BUT today (ebuyer - UK) had a two hour happy hour and they had 1gb of Crucial ram for cheap and then Googlecheckout was offering £10 off orders so it was a no-brainer really.
Besides I figured I needed the other set or ram for another build...
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I'll opt for M3_dust's option as I only bought the X1900 a couple of weeks ago so upgrading that is no-go (yes I did consider the 8800 series at the time but it costs over twice as much as the X1900- yup it was brand new too)
The RAM is DDR1 and not...
I wanted to find out whether I should upgrade my current CPU (to a dual core) or the memory or forget either?
My current specs are:
AMD 3700+ with AC freezer 64pro (stock)
2gb DDR400 ram (4*512mb stocks)
X1900 CF edition (basically X1900XT)
Asrock 939DualSata 2
I'll be using the rig...
Thanks JDAdams,
Should have thought so. I diabled the poller thus rendering the switchover to 3D speeds.
It seems good so far although the ATI tray tools bench crashed and CCC had to recover.
Ran Oblivion for 5 mins and supreme commander and seems fine along with 3DMarks.
Checked on the...
I got the same CPU and today I got hold of a X1900CF card. It literally creams the X800gto I had before and it's definitely a tad faster than the X1800xt I managed to use for a few day.
I reckon if you're looking to upgrade the CPu then 8800 is the route to go, I was close to getting one...
Well, having returned the dodgy X1800xt. I managed to find a X1900 crossfire edition card (brand new)
I got it today but noticed the core and memory speeds are not up to X1900xt standards. They should be 625/725mhz, but mine are showing as 500/600mhz.
Is this normal or do I have a dodgy...
