just want to say i use a 3200 with hdmi and have no issues with sleep at all with any of the driver releases in win7 32bit or 64bit the past few months
i've never ever had to do this before, and i did try uninstalling and then installing the new ones. still no dice. maybe the cleaner would make it work, but it's never been necessary before
I can't get it to install in Windows 7 x64 (7068). It says it installs correctly, but the version never changes, and I never get prompted for approval to install the display adapter
how about some sources for what balmer supposedly said? how about citing when in the past a service past vastly changed the interface, added entire new ways to network computers, tons of administration options, or generally did much more than fix bugs?
I just got my bluray/ati card (4350) setup with the windows 7 beta last night. the windows 7 beta drivers didn't allow playback, but the 9.1s did.
im guessing the previous commenter is correct in that your card doesn't do HDCP
Im just curious, I hear people say stuff like this a lot, and it never makes sense to me. And it still doesn't. I've never had any trouble just running an installer in the past 4 or 5 years, no uninstalling required.
Guys, I just built an HTPC with a large purpose being to do DVR/live tv. I'm dying to use my comcast hdtv channels.
I know there's that new hauppauge device, i'm considering it, but it sounds like a hassle. What about this ATI cablecard device? will this work with non-oem PCs...
Thanks for your response. I don't really have any interest in purchasing a preconfigured machine, especially since I believe they cost a pretty penny.
I was kind of figuring I could have an all in one machine. Are you saying that it's not possible to even watch live HDTV through the media...
Hello, all. I've been trying to figure this stuff out for months, and I just can't seem to get any clarity on what I need/how to have it setup. I'm hoping if I lay out what I want to do that one of you gurus in this area can help me out.
Currently I've got Comcast HDTV/Digital package, a 360...
thanks for the suggestion but i think i'd rather kill myself than go through that hassle and listen to the racket. i cant stand it at even 30 percent. luckily this has basically been resolved, but it's still strange that the default profile is to have manual/no fan speed
I changed it to the "default" of Automatic/23 percent and it went back to idling around 80! I don't know how the fuck or why the default profile makes it so I essentially have no fan.
Is there a good way to test if I have any permanent damage from this?
Could this have something to do with it? I went and created a profile so that I could adjust the fan settings and by default it's the following. It looks like it's set to "manual" with no fan speed??
<Feature name="FanSpeedProtocol_0">
<Property name="FanSpeedProtocolProperty"...
I just checked and man that thing is scorching. Air flow seems fine, it's as good as ever. I actually used to run all my fans on the lowest settings, but they're all cranked now.
I just feel like I shouldn't have to do some stupid hack and turn the card into a leafblower to get it to run at...
Yeah, I did just move my PC to a new location, but I think it's exhausting pretty well. It's just weird that it wasn't a problem till just recently. Airflow in the case has never been fantastic, but it was always good enough with case temps around 30-40C(I used to have a 7900GTO). Of course now...
What's up with that? I know 80C is normal, but this can't be good, I'm guessing this is what's causing my random stuttering in games. It doesn't always, it seems like it only does it after my computer has been on a while. If I reboot it goes back to around 80C, but I'm assuming it's just because...
tight. if i increase the fan speed does it make a big difference in noise on the thing? i'd rather have it be slient, than cool, as long as i dont have a negative impact. what's the negative impact of not increasing the fan speeds (besides just heat)? is that going to limit the OC-ability? do...
So I just bought my first aftermarket ATi card - Visiontek 4870. It was mostly an impulse purchase, and I didn't research too much beyond benchmarks. Anyway, what do I need to know about the 4870 and ATi? Tips or tricks for someone new to this side of the fence?
Yeah, this is basically what it's doing. It's not just reverting the overclock - I know what that is, and I really don't mind it if I'm pushing it too hard. In this case the menu is reporting that it's overclocked, but it's not.
Going to try the CMOS reset/battery off right now. Thanks, guys...
Hmph. That does sound similar, but I am able to change the FSB settings, they just don't actually do anything. And I guess I should have made it clearer, it was previously successfully overclocked.
Perhaps I'll try removing the battery/clearing the CMOS and see if that helps.
Hey all. Really weird problem, I'm having and I'm not sure what's going on. I noticed my PC hasn't been performing as well as it used to. A little investigation showed that it wasn't overclocked. Hmph, simple enough I thought.
So I look at the BIOS and it says it's overclocked. Everything...
Yeah, I still get crackling sometimes after I resume from hybrid-sleep. I've actually just installed a P35 board, and still have the problem. Restarting the Windows Audio service fixes it, but it's annoying. Was hoping this patch or the new motherboard would fix it :/
I get crackling after it resumes from sleep sometimes, but that happened in 32bit, too. I don't know what the deal is. It's really annoying, but restarting the Windows Audio service fixes it.
Well, I actually haven't tried any other games yet, I just installed it a few days ago.
I did try 3dmark, though, and the score is exactly the same as before. So I do assume it is TF2/source only. It seems to be about 20fps lower in general, and it can dip really low when there's a lot of...
