SFF Build Assistance - Gaming / Overclocking

    1. What will you be doing with this PC? PC Gaming, Professional Photo/Video editing, Overclocked. 2. What's your budget? Cost is not a factor, so long as its within reason. I do not want to get into custom chassis design if that is a worry. Figure I want a nice chassis, a quality PSU, and a...

    Corsair SP2500 2.1 Speaker System Review @ [H]

Great work on this review Kyle and Earl. Thank you for reviewing this product! For those people trying to compare 4.1/5.1 Promedia and Logitech solutions, try to keep in mind that those are $400.00 MSRP while the Corsair is $250.00. The Promedia 2.1 comparisons are very much valued. Corsair...

AMD 6970/6950 CFX and NVIDIA 580/570 SLI Review @ [H]

My guess is you have the ram to deal with the AA levels, however you lack the raw horsepower in the GPU to shove around that many pixels at playable framerates at those resolutions. If you scale down the resolutions, of course you will have something much more appealing.

AMD 6970/6950 CFX and NVIDIA 580/570 SLI Review @ [H]

Thank you Kyle and Brent - Yet again providing the results that keep me coming back to the [H]. The results were about what I expected, with the exception of how well ATI did in the F1 test. Very impressive stuff there by the red team.

    ASUS ENGTX580 Video Card Review @ [H]

The 5xxx series saw CFX scaling in the 90-95% range with the vast majority of cards and games. Even the 4xxx had very good scaling of its mainstream and enthusiast level cards in both real-world gameplay and synthetic. What I feel is even more astounding than the scaling levels of both Nvidia...

    ASUS ENGTX580 Video Card Review @ [H]

Outstanding article! You took roughly $500 and pitted AMD against Nvidia which is *exactly* what I hoped [H] would do in a review. The insights into the abilities of each video card are quite on the mark and all in all this is an excellent review! I even learned something abuot the edge-detect...

AMD Radeon HD 6970 and 6950 Video Card Review @ [H]

All of you poor folks that think you'll just load up a 2nd ATI 68xx or 69xx series card and gush away at the Crossfire capabilities need to wake up. Stepping to a multigpu environment is NOT just as slapasshappy as popping another GPU in and watching it go. Microstutter is a bitch. Games...

New AMD Catalyst 10.10e Hotfix Available

I've tested MLAA across many different titles and have not experienced anything like this. MLAA exhibited no more lag than without it being enabled. That was on 10.10d with no Application Profiles installed. I have not yet tested 10.10e

    CoD: Black Ops Issues

specs in sig... hit and miss in multiplayer depending on the server. seems that some servers are smooth and others (with same or equivalent 60ms ping) are stuttering.. better, but still not MW1 level smooth.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Review @ [H]

I can't believe I only paid $264 for a GTX 280 while it was still regularly sold at Newegg considering its debut cost.. Amazing.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Review @ [H]

I'm in the same boat as your roomate, and I absolutely agree with you. While the feature has some definite appeal from a performance standpoint, the IQ cons outweigh the pros in my opinion. Thankfully, its an option and people can experiment for themselves.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Review @ [H]

Very interesting! I was curious as to the performance of the dual 470 and 6870 primarily keeping to the 580's current and msrp price tag. Bang for the buck seems pretty strong in either direction, though I'm with you on the noise issue. When I switched from the GTX 280 to the 6870s, I was...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Review @ [H]

Well, actually the question for many will be a couple GTX 470's in SLI or ATI 6870's in Crossfire vs. these GTX 580's or even ATI's upcoming 6970. Personally, i have a pretty deep affinity for Nvidia, however i'm currently rocking a couple Radeon 6870's. I really think with this refresh of...

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 Video Card Review @ [H]

Good review, thanks crew. Looks like all the rumors of $499 were of some substance. The conclusion pretty much sums this one up nicely in that it's what the GTX 480 should have been. Good release Nvidia. Looks like the 'egg has these for $559-589. Wonder how long for this to reach MSRP?

AMD Morphological AA Performance and IQ Review @ [H]

I've been playing with MLAA since 10.10c was released. With 10.10d i've had a chance to try it in some newer titles. I just don't like it. Maybe i'm crazy but I don't mind pixels to begin with. Its one of those things that defines video games. With MSAA the pixels just get really hard to spot...

    Catalyst 10.10 Released

Honestly, I'm of the same mentality on that issue. I uninstalled the shit-tastic ATI codec and just let my Core i7 decode the video.

10.10d - now MLAA in DX10 titles. Confirmed working in Bioshock. Unfortunately the Steam overlay is affected by MLAA's bluring effect.

    Catalyst 10.10 Released

2x Radeon 6870's in Crossfire... Tried 10.10 and 10.10c (after doing a full 10.10 uninstall and driver cleaner) and both of the versions experience CTD's in BC2 after about an hour. Game menus (like where you pick your class) are moving at 2-3fps, but the game runs in the hundreds of fps. I...

    More GeForce GTX 580 Rumors

Well, I did make that jump last week. I went from a GTX 280 to 2x Radeon 6870's in Crossfire and i'm running the newest 10.10c hotfix. I can tell you the ATI drivers are nowhere near as stable as what my Nvidia was. I was absolutely bedrock stable under the Nvidia card, and wanted to test my...

    PlayStation to Stream Pro Baseball

I subscribed to this service the day it went live on PS3. I've been watching live MLB for about 4 days now. I played right up until the point of the first patch. It wasn't the patch that drove me away, it was RL happening so I shut down WoW/AoC accounts on focused on RL. So then I fire back up my WoW account, but keep looking at AoC with a fondness because I actually had fun the whole time I was...
