What do you guys think about the two Lian Li cases? Other stores seem to have them at around $170 w/o shipping. I really want to replace my crappy $40 Rosewill...
Even if this thing can supply 1000W, don't get it, because you're probably not going to need it. Get something cheaper from Seasonic or PCP&C and you'll thank yourself later.
And I really doubt it can sustain 1000W.
I'd jump if the case had better cooling. A 90mm and an 80mm fan is not enough for me. I can't even tell where the 80mm fan is supposed to be. :(
And also, the outside of the case looks plastic...
I wouldn't jump on Rosewill LCDs. A 17 in. one I got from them a year ago has about 9 stuck pixels. Maybe this is just a special case, but I'd spend my money elsewhere.
Does anyone know if this monitor has backlight issues, like my 2005FPW? And should I ask Dell replace my monitor, or try to fix it myself with electrical tape (like someone else did in the forums)?
Wow, this is like handing $125 to a homeless man and telling him to give it back to you tomorrow. I heard enough bad things about TigerDirect rebates to stay clear of this one.
The Freezer Pro 64 AMD version is only about $20 shipped for me. I think Newegg has it also for $27 with free shipping in a one day sale. Great prices!
Well, somebody had to say it.
Anyway, I don't see the justifications of paying $500 for a 750 GB drive. The newest and highest capacity drives are always much more expensive than what they should be. Just wait a few months and see what happens. ;)
Can anyone confirm that any of the 3 NV silencers on sale will work on a 6600 GT? It says on Arctic Cooling's website that one of them on sale works with 6600's, but I don't know about the GTs. The site shows that only a Rev. 6 cooler works with a 6600 GT. Thanks in advance.
That X800 XL is $180 with no MIR. I'm running an aging 6600 GT right now, is it worth it for me? Froogle shows that other places have the card at over $200.
That's a OK deal IMO, but can't you just OC a XT version of the card and get the same results?
Oh, and the link to the CompUSA site says:
Watch your characters sweat with Shader Model 3.0
Thanks, but I'd rather not stare at drops of sweat on people when I play my games.
What does the the four rails do exactly? IMO it'd just be better to have one big rail to draw power form so that a smaller rail would not be sucked dry while other ones still have juice left. Is there a reason that PSUs are coming out with 3 or 4 12V rails?
I don't have experiences with that chip, but I'll tell you that my last Intel CPU was sold after it kept reaching near 80C under full load, using the stock Intel cooler. Now my 3000+ is running at 53C full load in the same case with stock cooler. So I don't think that you installed it wrong if...
I haven't heard about the FSP 700W PSUs. They seem decent, but I don't know how the low 15A on each of the quad 12V rails will affect performance. Why are rails split across so many separate ones anyway? There should just be one big rail, and that way nothing will suck up all of the power on one...
11.77V with no load? That's a bit low. Even my crappy Thermaltake SilentPurepower 480 has at least 11.80 with heavy load on a similar system. See if you can get another PSU from someone to test.
I almost decided to buy from them about a year ago, but decided instead to build my own PC from scratch. I also noticed a lot of good and bad reviews from them. But their prices sure are cheap. I would be very interested in seeing a review for one of their systems.
I'll probably get called an idiot for posting this, but I'm running a similar system (3000+, 9NPA+Ultra, 2 HDDs, DVD-RW, 6600 GT, 2x512 MB DDR400 2.5-3-3-7, 4 case fans) with a "crappy" Thermaltake SilentPurepower 480W, with 18A on 12v (in case you're wondering, it's the only 12v line). I bought...
