Alright, that makes sense in a way, it's a shame though, somewhat highlights the importance of having a card that doesn't *just* make the grade for a resolution, never mind the quality levels in-game.
Well, all i can do right now is hope the Polaris release is a good one and that i can pick up...
Hmm, thanks for the reply, although i admit i'm not sure it makes sense :(
Or rather, what are the ramifications here? Am i supplying too little power? Too much(?!?) I didn't see this when i ran with a lower resolution, only since moving to 1440p.
Sorry, i wasn't clear re VSync; i meant to infer that i wasn't right on the limit of 60FPS, i still get the same issue vsync or not.
So i just ran my test again with clockblocker, makes the GPU hold 1050 or 1150, seemingly depending on how it's feeling, not sure what's going on there. Anyway...
Power Supply Calculator - The most accurate PC wattage calculator is recommending 527Was a minimum, which is lower than, say, Neweggs calc.
Yes it's a slow GPU for 1440p ;) Having to wait until Summer for the new gen to come out before i replace it though.
Thanks for the link, i'll check it...
So i just upgraded to a 1440p screen, nothing else has changed in my system, and other than resolution, the game i'm playing hasn't changed either, i can still maintain the 60fps i targeted.
However, since doing so, in more demanding cases in the game, i'm starting to get a hard stutter and i...
Yeah, the onboard realtek stuff these days is a lot better, but most of which is still not up to scratch.
Actually, no i don't know what UEFI means for win7...?
Interesting, the Z87 *does* have a PCI slot, you can see it on their site and it's also listed under it's specs...
I'd also been checking out the Asrock Extreme4, wondering how good they are these days? Interesting you say they have a bios still instead of the UEFI. I'll check it out some...
It seems people are pretty happy with their ~$200+ boards, which is good :) But i can't believe that something cheaper can't give more or less the same results, just without some of the prettier refinements.
Thanks for the G45 suggestion, i'll check it out.
I should at this point also note...
Interesting points on the overvolting, i'll have to look into that.
I looked at the H87 and decided that as i'll have a K chip, there isn't much point in me dropping the Z87 chipset as at the end of it's life (as my current AMD chip) it will be overclocked regardless :)
Bluesun, i am 'stuck' with Haswell, but whilst my usage is casual, i'm not really a casual user.
What kind of problems isn Haswell having? i thought it was a really good chip? What's the deal with the H87 Vs the Z87?
Dangman, yeah, i'd read the Asus review, they seem to like it, i just...
I'm trying to build my first Intel system in over 12 years, i'm going for the 4770k or the 4670k, depending on availability (don't ask)
Anyway, I'm trying not to break the bank with the motherboard, but whilst i want the lower end of the market, i'd like whatever the current solid offering...
Yeah, tight budget unfortunately, the extra hundred dollars would go towards bills :( Still not sure where this money will come from... (where's my violin)
I'm slightly more fortuitous in this regard and will be getting the Intel family discount, worth ~50% on the chips :)
Skillz, are you saying there are 8 ports (total) on the marvel? I'm reading them as both having 6 ports total?
Unfortunately, i do mean PCI and not PCI express... i have a...
Thanks, Skillz, seems the cheaper chip is fine then.
For the boards, i see the audio is different, but i'll be using offboard.
So it's the LAN Realtek® GbE LAN Vs Intel® GbE LAN Any reason for one over the other?
1 PCI Vs 2, i *think* i only need one.
RAID/Storage chip is the only other one...
Just a quick couple of questions as i'm coming back into Intel for the first time since the nineties.....
I'm looking at the Haswell chips, the 4670K as i'm hoping that's the sweet performance/price point currently, i see the I7 4770K as the next one up, but don't see it being worth ~33%...
Thankyou for posting this, i too have the same issue with it, and yes, it was so stupidly simple as just switching out the mouse for the usb key.
Asrock FM2A85X Extreme 6
Having had these since last year, i can say that, although really expensive, especially, as you say for just 2.1, that i would rather have a nice set of 2.1 than a lesser set with more channels.
I have a 6950 and a 4200 in the machine, but i can't go past the 12.4 cats if i want the 4200 to work :(
Every time i change the 6950 over to the 12.8 (or anything newer than 12.4) it causes a problem with the 4200 display.
Has anyone experienced this problem and/or know a way around it?
ok, this is chromes translation (Google)
AMD's next-generation graphics products have been named "Southern Islands", will use the 28nm process and VLIW4 architecture system. This generation of products, more, VLIW4 constant improvement of the operation with vector ...
From the above two...
Come on people, that slide ONLY refers to the AMD's new trinity chips launching next year.
The ONLY reason the slide is referred to is for the naming convention of the 7000 series graphics.
I'm awaiting the designed for 7 Titanium HD, i too have this ZS, but i use a USB mic to get round the issue, i don't blame Creative in this case, it's an old card on a completely different op sys.
That is correct, we know for certain that LOD wasn't working correctly and that DX11 ground tessellation wasn't enabled. On top of that we also know that about half the destruction mechanics were also disabled.
However, i wouldn't expect it to be too much more of a system hog. I think there...
