Have you tried messing with your powersaving options in the BIOS? Phase control and all that? I know you're running Intel, but I've noticed a stupid stutter on AMD systems sometimes until I shut off C1E stepping and cool-n-quiet.

What virus/malware was removed? Is it possible it had tied itself into print services and now your anti-virus kills the spooler? Try turning off antivirus, or uninstalling and reinstalling the print services.

I'm on the fence about the proxy thing, think I'll wait it out. It'd suck hard to wait so long just to get banned or something mere hours before release.

Finally got around to playing DMC4, think I liked Darksiders a lot better. DMC is just too... Capcom. That and I couldn't get any voice actor sound.

Phenom II 940BE @ 3.4ghz MSI TwinFrozr III GTX570 @ stock 8GB DDR2-800 1920x1080, 4xAA, 16xAF, Ultra Settings Fraps says I get between 40-50 frames on Metro, Caspian was more like 35-45 due to the huge draw distance.

Yeah it didn't show up right away for me either. You have to go into Origin, hit the settings thing at the top, and click "Refresh my Games" or something to that effect. Then after 5-10 seconds, you should be able to right click on the beta -> check for updates.
