very nice... clean and simple, which makes it look 110% better than a lot of cases/systems out there. To many people overdo it with lights and crap... yours is just the exact right combination!
well... that's my (Canadian) $0.02 worth (so, about 1/5th of a US cent LMAO)
~NortH~
yeah, they are kind of a large rad, but then again they are passively cooled so need a larger surface area.
A few friends have used them with varied amounts of success... they are great for a silent system though.
~NortH~
this has to be one of my favorite... extremely clean and simple... that is more impressive to me than all the bling bling in cases... just a great wire management job, nice parts, nice case, clean, well organized!
I also really like the use of the sound dampening material... not overdone and...
Xoxide has been around a long time... I have ordered tons of stuff from them personally and have never had any issues - they are legit and the prices are more than decent.
~NortH~
I prefer mesh in the side panel as opposed to acrylic windows, but that is just my preference - and waste baskets actually work very well for that sort of thing.
~NortH~
I actually just got off the phone with my buddy who is working with me on the phase part of the build.
He dug up his guages, has the vacuum pump ready, a whole new container of R134A - we just have to go and get the Schrader valves and the extra tubing and hardware I will be using in it... we...
actually, the case will easily fit a full 17" LCD - I was going to make a 17" LCD fit on the top and raise up, but in the end decided I didn't want something that large in/on the case - I just wanted something small, that would *fit in* to the look and build and can be used to display system...
I just shuddered when it arrived and I unpacked it LMAO
I can say I had never seen a case quite set up like that before... and quickly went to getting rid of the *ugly*
:D
~NortH~
The phase unit arrived and it works like a charm (thanks Wes) - now I am just waiting on my custom panels and a few other parts to be done so I can start on the cutting and building of this thing... collecting parts is only exciting for so long
here is the phase unit when I tested it...
I have 2 of them...
here is the 'Purple' case (awaiting a system to be put in it) - a 901:
and this is the NorthWater Ice Monster, a 601:
Abit 3rd Eye motherboard with an Opty144, cooled by an Arctic Web 437watt peltier block
and both of them side by side (before...
the phase unit will fit in the side that houses the optical drives and hard drives.
some redesign and re-organization will be needed, but it easily fits.
~NortH~
I am just starting this build... I have accumulated the majority of needed parts and am now just waiting on some custom pieces to be made and then I can actually start the building process.
Here's the plan/idea:
Mountain Mods U2-UFO case (picked one up really cheap on another forum, along...
you did one helluva job on that build! I am very impressed and love the looks of it... clean, sleek, compact, water cooled... and a triple rad to boot... very well done!
~NortH~
use some wire ties to tidy it up a little and you can also flip the hard drives around so that the cables all face the front of the case - that way they are hidden and no wires come out the back by the motherboard.
~NortH~
aside from the 4 connectors/holders for that fan in the front... the wm looks amazing! Excellent Job on it!
I know what you mean about the motherboard connector and hiding those wires - it's about the hardest wiring to make disappear, but you did a great job of organizing and making it all...
building 2 FX-55 rigs right now
both will be SLI with 7800 GTX's or 7900 GT's
just got the CPU's, so am sorting through the rest of the stuff today and ordering the rest of the parts.
~NortH~
good deal on those CPU's - a friend bought a couple of them with the same promo/price a couple weeks back, but during shipping they ended up getting a couple bent (very mildly bent though) pins, so Newegg filed a damaged shipping claim and sent him replacements... and I picked the pair up for...
LMAO - gee... you couldn't have predicted that any better
I noticed that about 3 days after building it... had it running for about 6 hours and shut it down... all was fine... but went to unplug everything and found the molex was absolutely melted.
I switched over to and actual...
i know this isn't 100% on topic... but it's not really a big jump from it...
what actually *is* a really good mATX board... overall functions and features, overclocking... that sort of thing - I am just building an SFF system and need to buy a board.
I have both a socket 939 CPU and a...
that stuff is a joke LMAO
the guy selling the stuff is from Quebec, Canada and he has spammed numerous forums pretending to be people who have bought his crap, fake reviews... just overall lowlife crap.
the stuff is very cheap quality as well... I have seen the stuff up close and...
I am thinking about doing something else to it now... someone on another forum brought it up and reminded me again about it... and got me thinking some more.
I have another, identical, pump to the one that is in there... I could install the second pump and then ditch the 'Y' connectors and...
then you are definitely using that RBX block WAY wrong then.
you have a 'Y' fitting at teh outlet of the water pump... splitting into 2 lines... and then those 2 lines are flowing *in to* the outlets of the RBX water block... you are supposed to have the coolant flowing in to the center...
Can you tell me which way you have the coolant flowing in teh last picture there?
It looks to me that you have the outlet of the water pump going to a 'Y' fitting then in to the RBX water block... if so... that is completely wrong... the center single fitting on the RBX is the inlet, the 2...
I can't complain about this system... it runs in the negatives, is extremely quiet - both of the things I was shooting for.
I mean... an OpterOwn 144 CAB2E/0546 cpu under the biggest peltier block ever made... and it all running super quiet, at temps that are easily below 0* Celsius what more...
thanks... and yup... wiring definitely needs work... but that is just one of the many things I haven't got around to yet... I wanted to make sure everything was running and working perfectly before doing anything about the looks of it.
:)
~NortH~
I always use a reservoir in my w/c systems... and typically an acrylic res.. either 5.25 or 3.5 bay size.
with each and every one of them I have either drilled and tapped a hole inteh back of the res, at teh top in a corner, threaded in a fitting and then ran tubing from it to a fill port -...
I built my 437watt Wintsch Labs peltier cooling system for about 200$ or so... but I did a lot of shopping around and looking for good deals before just going out and buying... and I wanted something actually worth buying as well, which is why I waited until I could find the Wintsch Labs block -...
Here is my rig... Peltier Cooled...
(put it in the wrong place earlier i think)
ABIT AV8 3rd Eye mobo
ATI X850XT-PE
Coolmax 550CX 550watt PSU
AMD Opteron 144 CAB2E/0546
2 x 512 OCZ ram
300gig SATA-II hdd
Wintsch Labs 437watt peltier cpu block
Dual rads... Bonneville style heater core...
I am in Canada and probably have 2 or 3 of them kicking around... is it the backing plate or the one surrounding the cpu socket that you need.... i have both... will see if I can dig up a black one... I think there is one here... but I know for sure I have at least 2 purple ones here... am...
Actually the meanwell is backed down all the way... and it is outside the case and runs off of a relay connected to the 12volt line of the computer's PSU... comes on automatically with the computer.
~NortH~
yup... can boost it up a lot more... that was when I first fired the thing up and started playing... so far I have been up to 290FSB, which is 2.61 ghz.
I just haven't had the time to really get down to some serious overclocking... but should be able to over the next couple days... maybe the...
I have the Soltek 939 Pro purple motherboard, with IO shield and all the cables, box etc
it is basically brand new... i was doing the same thing...purple theme, but have changed plans. I have only tested the board to make sure it works - I also have lots of other purple parts and stuff for a...
the board will, by the amount of FSB and voltage, allow me to hit 3ghz easily... but.. I am not completely sold on whether the board will actually do that much, or even the cpu.. but I have hit 290 FSB which is 2.6ghz... I need to get the FSB up to about 335 to hit the 3ghz mark, and I am not...
