Thanks OP!

One of the greatest games ever. The last expansion kinda sucked as they got away from what made it great. The first expansion is great. If you like RTS, don't miss this. Great deal.
I was passing that vid around back before 2000..it's funny as hell, but def. faked. Notice:
1) Keyboard does not appear to be plugged in
2) Monitor is set way back on the CPU so it can easily be knocked off
3) Monitor does not appear to be plugged in either
4) Monitor is turned away from the...
Probably not much in reality. I'd be surprised if it were more than 10 seconds slower booting. But that's a lot to some of the [H]ard core users on here!

Good deal on these drives. Excellent storage drives, but too slow to make a good Boot drive.

This is a one day only sale and may end at any time, but it's an awesome deal. This is the "Gold Box" edition with all 5 seasons. It does not include the movies or Lost Tales.
Regular price: 299.98. Pretty [H]ot.

I have a SC420 with 3 HDDs (2 SATA and 1 IDE). The IDE shares the IDE port with the DVD drive. It comes with a set of spare drive rails but you might have to buy one extra set for the 3rd drive. Or use duct tape. Great system, been running (Win 2000 Server) for 3 years in my basement with nary a...
Fry's B&M (Atlanta) had it Monday for $43.99, still a good deal, I picked up one for a spare. Fry's online currently shows it at 59.99 so not sure it's still on sale, but Fry's retail and web prices are often different.

Can't say, but I think you want Acronis Disk Director instead of True Image Home anyway. That's the one that lets you clone a partition. I've used it many times, but I can't get it to resize an NTFS partition when copying it to a new HDD (Anybody else run into this or have a solution?). Other...
I got a PATA 320G (for an old machine for relatives!) at Fry's B&M a couple of weeks ago for $59. Also Fry's has had the PATA 750G for $99 a couple of times in the last month or two, but they go OOS quickly. Keep your eyes open...

The initial articles toward the end of 2007 that I read when I was considering buying WHS said only that there was a chance of data corruption on WHS installations with more than one HDD; I just took a look around and the current view is indeed that the data corruption issue only happens for...
Just don't use more than 1 drive (total) for WHS. There is a nasty data corruption bug if you use more than one drive, which remains unfixed. Wait for "Power Pack 1", which I think I heard will have a beta version out in early June. Plenty of discussion on this around the web.

A couple of years ago somebody was running a website trying to find the owner of a camera he had found, by posting the photos (like one a day or something). Don't know how that turned out, anybody remember? It was kinda cool.

Started out like everybody else; They had the pre-order box on the shelf still, I'm like "Oh great it's the orange box bait and switch all over again". So I waited around about 5 minutes and finally a manager type (He had a headset anyway) came over, I asked if they had it, he looked it up on...
Turned out to be a bad stick of memory. Serves me right for fixating on MB/PS and not fully testing the RAM. As soon as I pulled the bad stick out, all the problems went away.
Fry's is gonna hate me when I return all these parts....
Thanks all for your ideas.

That sounds exactly what's going on! THANKS! I'll try the fix as soon as I get home.
The system was not overclocked (other than the memory increased to 2.20v for stability), BUT the HSF has come partially loose (1 of the 4 pushpins popped out) and I'm wondering if the BIOS saw the high temp...
Still no luck. I'm on my 3rd power supply, same symptoms. I've taken the MB out of the case, attached the video card and PS (and of course RAM and CPU and HSF), same exact thing.
I'm going to buy a THIRD motherboard today, I just can't imagine what's going on. Maybe the CPU and MB are toast...
Thanks for the replies:
There are 2 sticks of RAM, I removed one, tried to boot, put it back and removed the other, tried to boot, took out BOTH and tried to boot. No change in symptoms. Will a system POST with no memory? I've never tried....
There are no beeps at all. I think the MB has...
I'm at my wits end and hope you guys can help. About a month ago my rig started having problems booting. It would power up, and a few seconds later power down. No BIOS screen. Fans and drives all spun up. However after repeating this cycle several times, it would come up.
I finally took it...
What's wrong with Norton?
BTW this deal runs often, I've done it twice in the last 6 months (From Fry's). And the rebate got here in about 2 weeks, a record!

Don't know if anybody told you, but unless you are running one of the 64bit OSes, windows will only "see" around 3GB no matter how much memory you put in.
If you want the gory details, here's a good explanation: http://www.dansdata.com/askdan00015.htm

.10s use the new perpendicular (sp??) recording tech. Actual specs are very similar, however.
WD OEM = 1 Year Warranty
Seagate = 5 Year Warranty

OK, the status on my order shows "delivered" but it also now references 2 UPS tracking numbers. I think the office depot status means "delivered TO UPS". Anyway the origin point is a local warehouse and they delivered to the local UPS facility and the UPS tracking status shows that it will be...
In for 10!
BTW if you guys know any teachers, send them this deal, they are ALWAYS short on copy paper and the schools don't let them use much.
Oh and the coupons are good thru 3/17/07 and 3/24/07, not sure which is which.
