As someone with both I say go with the xbox 360. Seemingly I only use my ps3 only for blu ray now. Then again I just like the 360 controller a lot more than the ps3 controller.
It's a simple question, but I'm not totally sure how to phrase or search for it, but here it is, does wifi speed depend on the speed of the dsl or internet connection? I want to stream hd, and or big files on my home network, and my current wifi setup is too slow.
The thing is my dsl speed is...

I plan on getting the ThinkPad T60 Widescreen with ABGN Wireless, my dad gets the employee discount so it'll costs 1077 before shipping and handling.
My 2 questions are...
This may be unrelated but since you want to get 5.1 audio and plan on getting a hdtv have you thought of getting a receiver and ht speakers instead of computer speakers?
If you want full 5.1 surround from tv broadcasts I think you have to get hd. However if you get a receiver it will mix...
My friend wants a laptop that will play WoW at the highest settings, but money is an issue. Like the title says what is the cheapest laptop that will play wow at high? I suggested a Thinkpad but since money is an issue he rejected that. It seems like the general consensis is the 1405/1505

I should've specified that I meant the cable in the picture using his available outputs on his mobo. But you are totally right about dts and using the 6 cables to do the job. If the only inputs on the reciever are infact only rca you could always use the reciever to mix the sound to output to...
Wait the statement about spidf not being able to pass dts was incorrect, you just need a decoder to decode it right. In order to do real time dts decoding you need something like the X-Raider DTS card. But how does a connection such as an rca cable output surround from a computer into a reciever?
If your home theater reciever has optical or analog inputs use them, use the spidf outputs on the motherboard. RCA connections cannot pass 5.1 sound and also spidf cannot pass dts from dvds either.
Uhm if I had 2500 I would get a 480p projector like the infocus 4805 for like 500 or 600, and then spend the 1900 remaining dollars on a tv like the vizo 50 inch plasma that was going for like 1300 at costco. Or if you wanted 1080p I'd spend 1600 on the 42 inch westinghouse lcd.
People have been thinking about this since 2004, its pretty cool to see it actually happen.

Have you considered a projector? It would absolutely blow away any tv with the screen size. The downside is bulb life, meaning that you shouldn't really use it to watch like cnn or something like that.
But you could get a nice lcd 720p pj like the ae900 for like 1400 or opt for a 4805 480p...
