I have been having stuttering issues on my 3.8GHZ i7 930 and 5970, the framerate was in the 60s but I would still get micro stutters all the time. I noticed my HT cores were being used, so I installed Bill2s Process Manager and turned off HT when GTAIV is started, no more stutters =)

I absolutely love the card so far, that being said my 280GTX was rock solid, no desktop flickering, game lines, GSOD,etc. I have already experienced 2 or 3 things on the 5970, hopefully their drivers continually improve, because I cant give up this performance :o

This is going to sound retarded, but this is the way I fix this issue, I read it on another forum and it does work. Start a game (like playing not menu), go to settings turn off vync, change resolution ( i go from 1080p to 720p) apply, exit menu, lines will still be there. Go back into menu...
